I agree, Chris Cornell is an extremely hard voice to cover as we all know. Todd's voice is incredible and yea, to try and hit that note whaaaa? I love that he pushes himself to go as far as he can! I think that this is one of my favorite of theirs, love the vibe of the whole thing! MUE is just incredible!!!
HUNDRED TIMES better than most well known bands and singers I've heard to have tried to sing Soundgarden / Audioslave songs..
That note could have been sung comfortably, he just spread his mouth to much with that wide smile which affected his ability to hit it. That's why he didn't hit it right, its not because he couldn't do it. Its just he wasn't doing it the correct way. With that being said this was still enjoyable for me to listen and watch. I hope he keeps improving.
@@huss2600 Yes. Proof he can do it is on the Bon Jovi song. He hit those notes no problem. It has to come out the nose as he knows, but Cornell wrote it hitting so suddenly that it's easy in theory but not in reality. It's easy to over-strain. Even Cornell himself couldn't nail those live 100% of the time. It might help to start the warmup on that note.

One of my favorite Cornell (err. Audioslave) songs. You guys completely knocked it out. So very impressive, as usual, not surprising. I think this video is one of my favs so far from you guys, for this reason... I heard just a very slight bit of non-perfection in both Blake's solo, and Todd's high octave vocal near the end. Meaning.. you guys are still human. Perfection is not what bridges the audience connection. Rather, being human does. I will listen to this over Chris's version all day long for this reason. So very satisfying guys. Proud of yall. Keep it up!
