I bought the brunt toe version of this boot and have no problem personally with grip. I walk roughly 10-15k steps a day at work on gravel, wood, concrete and have never really slipped on anything. In terms of comfort I enjoy this very well my feet dont hurt after a full days of work.
Had mine for over a year love them. I’ve done everything from climbing on roofs to shoveling snow in the winter time and I’ve never slipped, and if you read the documentation on their website, they are slip resistant.
Gen 4 Brunt boots just released AND they ARE advertising oil slip resistance in the soles now. I have Gen 3 Brunt Toes that I purchased last summer/fall(2023) & didn't notice too much slip until the back of the box truck got some water on the wood deck & then it got a bit slippery. The trailer gate that I have on my trailer is diamond mesh & open like yours. In factvits exactly like yours & it did get slightly slippery but thankfully I never fell or wiped out & maybe its because I have more downward pressure on the soles as I weigh about 230 lbs. I am looking at purchasing some black Marin Brunt boots this year sometime though & they will be Gen 4's & i will get to compare once I pull the trigger & purchase them.
I only got about 4 months out of mine. Sole separated and one of the eyelets tore out. Keen Utility Cincinnatis are a better option on a moc toe wedge boot
I wore ariat's on the exact same Trailer Door/gate design, While trying to lift alot of weight, Slipped face forward and smashed my knee on the supporting bars of the gate/door, hurt forever
They are not very grippy. But that’s not the real issue with these things - what happens is after three months the inside of the boot/midsole/outsole/ whatever, just breaks down internally and you lose support. Worst boot I’ve ever owned. Low quality boots that look nice. That’s about it. If you had worn them on concrete floors or cement, you would have wiped those soles completely out. They don’t hold up.
I have seen these boots all over the internet. I have only worn Redwing boots. Normally, I get 3 years out of the Redwing. I'm a remodeling contractor and wear my boots 12 hrs a day, 6 days a week.
these boots are made to look like work boots. Definitely for more wear house field or maybe for a fork lift driver lol.. I wore the same shoe in a body shop with NO OIL or chemicals on them. They lasted 6 months on a concrete floor... I went to work in a shop fixing cars and they lasted about 1 month in oil and coolant... They NOW are advertizing on FB that they are oil and slip resistant BUT that soul says other wise
My Irish setters (they weren’t work boots so I can’t complain about them for not having slip resistant) they are the elk trackers.. by far definitely a very comfortable boot.. love wearing them for everyday stuff.. super comfortable.. my complaint.. I was wearing them on concrete in my brothers garage.. it was winter time so I was wearing them because of being water proof and being my go to boot when I don’t have to wear steel toe.. and well.. I about busted my ass multiple times in them.. couldn’t walk across the floor without having to try and catch myself.. I put on shoes and didn’t have any problem at all.. but my damn boots I was Ice skating in. Definitely wish they would’ve put an anti slip on them.. even if they are hunting boots.. I know guys that wear them for work all the time because they are so comfortable.

Can’t seem to find any brunt “marlin” boots, or Irish settlers.
thought the same 😂

Thanks for the heads up! I was going to buy these as my next pair of work boots but I’ll just stick to Wolverine boots that are the same price

The brunt boots not being slip resistant is why I did not order a pair

Sadly I would say they are too dangerously slippery for me to find out if they fall apart in 3 months.
same thing happened to me the inside bent inwards too on both the Marin lined and unlined.
I thought wedge style boots were intended for smooth surfaces. So more or less indoor use like in warehouses and such.
Its setters not settlers . I was hoping these boots would be my answer to some comfortable boots but i cant deal with no slip resistance .

Dude i love the battery packs . 👌
These are a great, indoor, standing on concrete, boot.
Are they next gen?
Not these, but I did a few videos on the next gen boots, they fixed the soles and the grip is much better.
@@UltimateToolReviews good to know I just got a pair of the bolduc next gen a few weeks ago
Very interesting! Great video!
Would love to get a pair of Nicks in the future, let me know.
Ha this is like the final boss of boots coming back to the beginning level.
irish Setter - NOT settler
If you want to use a mic tie boot for work. Buy a Thorogood.
$300 for those boots but worth it.
There’s actually two more generations now.
Hopefully they send them to you because the first generation really sucked.
Buy jim greens bro
I've had mine for 2 months and wore them 5 times. Absolutely horrible, leather is to soft and the soles are glued which are know to split!
Great way to blow out your knee with them on
You got that right! I slipped pretty bad one morning on a wet curb a few weeks ago carrying tools and that was the last straw for me with these boots.
Got a pair, 2 weeks later snapped a calf muscle..... Great boots, not. 🤬
Junk mine fell apart in 4 months
Irish Settlers🤣
Bad customer service, must be a ten man business, from Mass
Hell I’ll take em off your hands lol
Junk Boots. F rating with The B.B.B. Do yourself a favor a skip these boots. They are terrible
Real good boots
Well they're made in China sooo..stick with USA made
