Soyeon - Probably one of the best Main rappers in Kpop and songwriter + producer. She also takes part in the AI group "KDA" and is always the writer for (G)I-DLE's success (a.k.a title tracks) Minnie - She has a very versatile vocal that can be used in almost every song (+she wrote and produced some tracks) Minnie is also known to start (G)I-DLE's song too , especially after ot5 eras. Yuqi - currently the best dancer after soojin left , and her deep voice adds alot to the group's songs. Either making them more Bold or spiced. (+she also wrote and produced) Miyeon - The best vocalist in (G)I-DLE with stunning visuals. Although she does not write songs , she carries the group's vocals heavily. We can also say that Miyeon almost fits the KBS (Korean Beauty Standard) perfectly. She also is in the AI group KDA with Soyeon. Shuhua - Boss baby Maknae , the youngest and most savage member. She boosts the group popularity with her attitude. Alot of controversies Shuhua made actually made the group more popular. And not to mention her voice is a chameleon allowing her to cover Soojin's part after she left , filling the gap during concerts. Shes still improving though! (And she also does not write nor produce). Now unlike Miyeon , Shuhua's visuals does not fit as much KBS as Miyeon's does. But its probabl her confidence that leads her to look 10x more beautiful even though she is already pretty to begin with Soojin - the reason why I-DLE have went this far. Although she is no longer a member in I-DLE , she is stll in every neverland's heart. She used to be the main dancer and vocalist of I-DLE also getting some rap parts. Soojin was very close with Shuhua but she ended up getting kicked out of the group. AND last but not least , every (G)I-DLE member can rap. It is proven by their song "MY BAG" where every member raps a whole verse except for Soyeon as we all know she raps realy well. What surprised me so much is Miyeon and Shuhua because Miyeon is a full-on vocalist and Shuhua wasn't fluent in Korean before the song was released. I guess they have improved alot during this era.
it's insane how many controversies they've went through, especially the soojin scandal, and still at actively charting and doing great numbers and have passionate fans. that's how you KNOW a group is truly talented and worth your time
(G)I-DLE is one of the few girl groups I follow and stan because they do not fit in the typical K-pop mold. Thanks to having all the creative freedom to produce, their sound is not only unique but also different with each comeback. They always sound fresh no matter how much time has passed or how many new groups debut they always stand out. A thing to note as to why they are very vocally unique is that Soyeon made sure all the members each have a different vocal coach. Most other groups share the same vocal coach, who teaches the same techniques, so no matter how great of a singer they are or how different their voices sound, they all sound similar. I don't like every comeback, but I still appreciate the uniqueness and creativity put into each. 😍
Most of the controversies is not intentional, they just didn't know about it. If they are told nicely they will learn about it (like the african or the temple of praying). It's just their perspective about it (I don't say it's right but what can you do, a human will always make mistakes). For Soojin, i guess Korean culture itself is really harmful/harsh. And they attacked her even before they found her guilty. That's sad... idk about to what extent an entertainment should protect their artist tho ? I guess they shouldnt made the decision about soojin's departure before the judgement come.

Both is correct. I-deul (that's the actual way you would romanize it) is the Korean way to say it. There is no (G) in the Korean name that's why they do not include it in Korean. For whatever reason the English name is (G)I-dle though, so it is correct to say it both ways. The members introduce themselves as I-deul in Korean and as (G)I-dle to western audiences.
In Korea they debuted as (여자)아이들 so as a translation became G (girl) Idle. They explain that was bc back then when searching just idle in Korean ended up with child related content (아이 means child) but now they’re big enough to go by just Idle and show up when searching so they dropped the 여자(G)

That's a good explanation. Here in the UK, I would call them G-Idle, because if I wanted someone to check them out on TH-cam, it would make it easier for them to find their videos. If I just said 'Idle' they would do a search for 'Idle' or even 'Idol', and get thousands of wrong results. If they search for G-idle, they will get the correct result.
When I saw them in the US during their Just Me ()I-dle tour, the still introduced themselves with the G. I say it with G just so it’s clear I mean the group and there’s no confusion with just the word idol.

I think at that time its a given since Shuhua still struggle with her Korean and she still improving her singing. We can't blame Soyeon for Shuhua lack of part in Hwaa, Shuhua herself said to Eunchae in Eunchae Stardiary that Hwaa is the hardest song for her to sing now she take Soojin part because she need to sound mysterious for the song. And lets not forget CUBE isn't going to debut Shuhua since they don't think she's ready yet but Soyeon still insist CUBE to include her. Shuhua not confidence with her pronunciation and singing at that time, but she has improved so much and getting more lines now. We can see how helpful Soyeon was towards Shuhua during the recording process to help her get her part right.

for koreans, g is not spelled (spell like k 가방 is spelled kabang but international call it gabang) so they call idle in Korean and g idle in west.
