- The Ulanzi 40w Portable Light is extremely bright and really inexpensive currently! I unboxed these and am very surprised at how much power is packed into them, even at only 1% I have never come across small lights this powerful!!

Oh yes i bought this and was impressed too. Very good i will get a second one.
Thanks for the review. FYI when you move a light futter away, you dim it but actually make it harder, not softer. It's Counterintuitive, but the larger the light source, the harsher the shadows.
Awesome review! I liked that. That would be exactly what I would do if I just opened them and tested them. Super useful and straightforward! Thanks
Thank you! These are extremely powerful! There’s a lot of applications for them in that prosumer space.
I just used one of these on a nighttime street fashion shoot & im so impressed
I can imagine providing light at night, these are stellar. The output you get out of these is bunkers!!
great genuine review my man thanks
@@heartpen600 thank you brother!!
Thanks for the unboxing and first look of this light bro! was really interested in seeing what these could do after they were announced. very interesting concept. I'd love to see how these compare for the Zhiyun Fiveray M40 40w light; different physical build style, but 40w output.
Hey thank you for the suggestion! I reached out to see if they will provide haha! However, if not, I may pick one or two of them up as well as they match my setup a little better than the Ulanzi! Stay tuned :)
I just got 2 of this lights today for 59$ each. It’s their version with a type C port alongside with the DC port. Thanks for your demo and first impression
Peace.
I didn’t see they had an update with USB-C!!! I feel robbed hahahaha
@@CoZChristopher I think it might be a newer update , you know they slapped the “pro” in the name😅 but the reason I got it cheap too because it says light only which means it might not contain the DC port cable. I will see tomorrow when I receive it since I already have a 100 watt usb c cable I opted to get the one that’s says Light only. I’ll update you tomorrow once I receive it what it contain and what not. Thank you!
@@CoZChristopher update! I received it and yes it has new type c charging port along side the DC PORT. You can choose to buy the light itself or buy it with the dc adaptor.
Peace!
Where did you find them that cheap? I've noticed amazon bundles with handle and mini bowen softbox for the Pro version at $113 or just the non pro for $72 each after %10 off?
@@tomoprime217 Amazon. Actually right now till April 7 it’s cheaper at the official ulanzi website. The light itself without any power cord PLUS the mini softbox the AS- d30(mini bowens softbox) is only 80$
Thank you for your presentation. I think I may pick one up myself.
I want to get started but I've seen these other budget friendly for example mountdog gets 3 color temps soft boxes with light stands and remotes for $80! Brand Mmcrz is a $54 after %10 coupon for 2 smallwr 16" softboxes with light stands and remotes. All on Amazon. How does this 40W compare for a simple setup? Thanks for sharing your video and showing the actual lights in action!
Great video thank you for the rundown! Been wanting to see them in a real environment instead of the marketing!!
Absolutely! Same here, most of their marketing shows real-world use, but they are definitely using other lighting in the production so it's hard to see if these lights were actually lighting their sets!!
How has the light held up? Are you still liking it?
right off the bat, the music was too loud. im trying to focus on you talking but that music kept bumpin. Other than that. good video. Great office setup
Hey that is really great feedback. I am trying out capcut to see if the pro version is a suitable replacement for my Unboxing videos. They dont have the same audio leveling features Premiere Pro does. However, PP has been giving me a ton of issues lately. I'm working to figure out audio in CapCut while still using PP for my larger videos with more complexity. Thank you for the honest feedback here, this is really useful and appreciated as the experience on your end is the largest deciding factor as opposed to my issues in creation. Thank you sir!!
Camera Sensor's heartbeat was pounding for a good 5 seconds there... hahahah
What would you prefer for a small room - one 60W light like the Colbor or Two 40W Ulanzis like your video?
I have one of these lights, and mostly agree with your review, but the lack of a remote reduces the functionality in many installations. Can’t put it on a light stand or otherwise hard mount it in a high or remote-ish location, and adjust the light level or color without either pulling it down, or climbing up to adjust things. Big omission in my opinion.
I agree they ultimately are really limited due to having to manually turn on, brighten, dim, etc
ive bought Ulanzi lights in the past and returned them because they had a magenta cast. .. Do these?
Cant go wrong for 79 bucks. Just ordered 2
that’s what I was thinking. I like their products so I completely impulsed! But really happy with results. need better diffusion due to how bright they are. Out in the field, or at normal shooting distances these are perfect, but will maybe need better diffusion for my desk space.
@@CoZChristopher I am a wedding videographer and was thinking these would be perfect to add a pop of light to a venue and be great for sparkler exits!
@@MarkHuynh7 ahhh nice!!! The flashes, lighting, paparazzi effects are nice! They’re really bright, even the candle was scene was nice! You’ll be able to get pretty creative with them for sure!
Where did you get it for $79?
@@enriquemartin8655 from the ulanzi site!
Have you found out any third party accessories for this lights? Maybe a soft box or something
ciao
Thanks for the great review! Can you tell please what light power (in percentages) did you use on the led light at the end of the video in the dark room?
I never used more than 10% on these lights in that space. The diffusers are designed I think for them to not be close up. The lights are so strong and I haven’t had the time to research diffusers I can use. But they brighten a room and level the lighting great when needed.
@@CoZChristopher Thank you very much, this led light looks like very nice option without spend a lot of money
@@Romanbala yep!! And the portability and small frame is good!
How is the fan noise.?
so far it hasn’t been present. I’m going to turn on and let battery drain to see if it kicks in as it stays on for a long period
I'm thinking about buying one of this to use as a hair light mounted to the ceiling.... if i unplug then from the outlet does it turn off ??
Great question! Nope they’ll run on the battery for around 75 minutes according to their claims! I ran them on battery the entire time I tested them and they ran well. You’ll just need to recharge to keep using once they die. I’ll use them similarly on my upstairs setup. Plug into to charge and then mount back when needed
Damn my Alexa went wild when you mentioned her lol. Please mute “alexa” on the video next time to avoid problems
no light modificators for that ...absolutely uncontrol spreading ...what its good for ,maybe for some feeling
Hey mine came with a mini tripod
Ahhh did you order on Amazon? I saw they may come with one there. I’m low key grumpy 😂🤣
