The depth into the human heart this music goes is indescribable. When you find a love like this that completely consumes you from within, you're never the same again.

The music and the movie have moved me to a place in my heart i thought was long gone. I can barely catch my breath listening to Deep Thoughts. My heart hurts, you see I lived this movie. I was Francesca. I lost my Robert. If i were to have listened to my friend I would have ran to my Robert.

So very glad I did not see this movie in the theater. They would have needed a mop and pail to get me off the floor. The ending blindsided me. Seeing the book (Four Days) was the trigger. I needed a pillow to muffle the crying. I was not crying, I was bellowing. The pain in my heart and stomach was off the scale. I identified with Robert Kincade and took it to far. What a love story.
This movie broke my heart better than she ever did. Still i love her even though 8 years have passed and i havn't met her since that day..Society forces me to move on, but who can make them understand that "True Love" never moves on, it just takes a little corner in your heart amidst all that chaos and stays there forever.
I’ve wanted to watch this movie for years and never got around to it. My wife went to work today, as I scrolled through I saw it and pushed play. As I got to the end, I wasn’t prepared for the flood of emotions this movie extracted from me! We wake up one day and a lifetime is nearly finished. It moves so fast, on its own terms and you are left with a handful of decisions defined as a life. My indulgences, mistakes, bad decisions, I’ve never let see the light of day...until today! Thanks for holding my hand Francesca and telling me it’s ok to fall...to be human.
I once saw this wonderful film at a low point many years ago, during a long term relationship break up, and I distinctly remembered this score over the movie. I decided I was going to get it, but it slipped my mind and I forgot about it sadly. Then one day decades later, youtube suggested this song in a compilation while I was working, and after a few tracks, that piano opened up and I literally welled up. That's the power of music. I don't know if it's a trick of the mind, but music can almost teleport me to good and bad times.
Derian, it's not called the POWER of MUSIC for no reason... Music was even used as a motivater when men went into battle such is it's power... National anthems played at sporting events does the same job.. Then we have music that associates us with lost love.... This can be so difficult to deal with... The Eastwood piece I too associate with lost love and even though this was 20 plus years ago the film and the music stirs the memory.... as if it needed stirring..... The memory is constantly there, the music just makes certain I can never forget...
Derian Jones some music can take you anywhere you want to go,especially this piece and of course doe eyes,I’ve watched the film more times than I care to remember and it just tares me up every time.
Yes, I too visited (in 1996) the bridges (including Roseman Bridge)...& then while walking around the main square in Winterset...tears came to my eyes.
So you are a terribly lucky person. Damn !!! You really don't know how much I would like to go to that place !! After watching the movie, long ago, I dream on this magnificent bridge. You're soooo lucky. !!!!

Probably watched this masterpiece with my mother a dozen times...we'd sit through the ending credits, look at each other, with moist eyes...and thank the powers that be,for movie magic...thank you Clint.
This movie is wonderful, so beautiful and sensitive, it taught me that a love has to be lived with all the strength of the heart! I cried, I laughed, I loved it!
" Szív hídjai" című film főszereplői Meryl Srteep, és Cliont Eastwood . Láttam ezt a csodás filmet. Felejthetetlen élményt nyújtott. Hálásan köszönöm ❤️❤️
I absolutely loved the feel of the 60’s and a simpler time etc, loved the music and always will. It brings to mind the pain of growing up when I thought I knew what love was. But one day I realized this movie is a fairy tale. This isn’t a story of love, it’s a story of placing our desire for change on a nearby human who needs the same from us. This intense immature take on love is not healthy, and we need to take it with a grain of salt. Real love is commitment, even when the fun of passion and infatuation has faded. And the best part of the lesson from the characters was that Francesca finally realized this (Robert didn’t). She realized that what they had would disappear if they ran away together……because it wasn’t real. It was a fantasy. Real love is deeper than what those 2 had. But I still love the fantasy.
You are partly correct. The letting go is harder on Robert because he doesn't have family obligations. Francesca is realistic about the consequences on her children and husband - especially in a small rural town in Iowa - had she given in to her desires. Francesca loves her children. She also loves her husband, but she is not in love with him. She married him because it was a way to escape the ravages of WW II and a chance to start over in America. She chose to stay because of her commitment and devotion to her family, but this self-sacrifice - their happiness for hers - does not at all mean that the love at first sight between Robert and Francesca is a fantasy. In another time and place, the "fantasy" might have lasted a lifetime. After all, isn't that how it starts for most of us, whether love at first sight or a slow burn? Given time, love grows between two people meant for each other. So Francesca gave up a real chance to have the love of her life for familial love and obligations. She knew the relationship would not be able to sustain the guilt she would bear as a mother and wife had she left ... she could not choose her happiness over theirs. But for the rest of her life, she suffered in silence and lived a lonely life deprived of the love she carried in her heart for Robert until her last breath. That is, as Robert said "a certainty that comes but once in a lifetime". And that is definitely no fantasy. At least not for these two.
The Bridges of Madison County. I have read the book on numerous occasions, I found it sad and very moving, a chance meeting and encounter shared for their lifetime, memories of the long hot days never to be forgotten. Have you read the sequel to it? They find the mothers diary! I prefer reading, that way you see your interpretation of the characters in your mind. Example.. Jurassic Park, I read the book first then went to see the film... I thought I was in the wrong cinema, the same with The Lord of the Rings.
jc's place I think reading the book makes your mind take over the characters better. Much better than having it in front of you where it is already done for you; you don't have time to dwell on what is actually happening. With a book you can lay it down and think about what is happening, then pick it up again and continue.I have seen the film but wasn't struck on the actors.
I’m usually not one for love stories, but this movie is a cinematic masterpiece, it stands alone and is timeless and classic in every since of the word, probably in the top 10 greatest cinematic achievements.
This song feels like love...all the ups and downs, disappointments and joy. It is the hardest thing to find and so easy to give up. It to me is what makes life worth living. To love someone and beloved that much and to know that letting go... is love.
This music is heart rendering. You can feel all the passion, the need and the understanding when no is the only answer. To love like this is to love beyond words and music like this is the only way to explain it...if you dare to try. Bravo Mr. Lennie Niehaus!
I love this movie... it says so much about the human heart and how love when we are lucky enough to recognize it, can give us the strength to stand when we want to run. Sometimes loving is known when to stay, when to go and when to let go. This song makes me hopeful ... much love to all.
Well said. It does say much about the human heart and how love when we are lucky enough to recognize it can give us the strength to stand when we want to run. I will not run this time from love. I will run toward it to see what the ending will bring. I love this man and now that he is single and ready to love again, I will be there for him. So glad I waited and he's willing to give it a try.
Of all the movies of Merry Streep and Clint Eastwood I have seen, the Bridges of Medison County is the best, memorable and evergreen. It is masterpiece and part of my collection.
Lennie Niehaus does do some lovely simple but very emotionally hitting piano work. Great moving and upsetting work here done with a small number of notes.

What a great artist Lennie Niehaus is. Often overlooked and underrated. That's probably why I am not surprised that I am the first to comment on this video. Noehaus is the master of subtlety. He is able to create the deepest emotiond only with a piano and some string arrangement. A master of his craft.
Love comes in many forms. If you stay close, you lose sight of it. Being apart allows us to be compassionate to those around us. I want to wrap my heart around two people who have promised not farewell, but eternity.
I was 15 years old,when read a book and I cried,and cried..Now I'm 37 years old...and don't know what kind of this love..I saw many times this film...and it's heartbreaking..
There are emotions and feelings that are meant to stay forever. It seems unbelievable but it's true...and this feelings will become the deepest secret in your heart.
There is a pleasure in the pathless woods, There is a rapture on the lonely shore, There is society where none intrudes, By the deep Sea, and music in its roar: I love not Man the less, but Nature more, From these our interviews, in which I steal From all I may be, or have been before, To mingle with the Universe, and feel What I can ne'er express, yet cannot all conceal
She had dreams that were not fulfilled and had accepted the mundanity of her life till Richard appeared and brought romance and passion to her heart and for a brief time a dream come true It was a different time and her culture dictated preserve the family but she knew who her heart had chosen and where her ashes would rest
I saw this movie in 1995 .I could not believe it was like my story was being told I was so shocked. I am 70 years old now and that movie My Breath Away
This reminds me of so many bittersweet moments I shared with a married man a long, long time ago. He was about twenty years older than me and I truly believed that we would be together. It took me seven whole years to finally realize that he wasn't leaving his wife. But by then, I had found someone else... thought I found happiness, married within six months of meeting, only to realize I had made a bigger mistake. Stayed in the marriage for seven years and eventually found the person I'm with now for sixteen years. When I hear this song it takes me waaaay back to those bittersweet moments...I found out that he passed away several years ago and it hurts.
I wonder if he realized how much I really loved him…I wish I could tell him once more…just one more time and hold his hand in my hand. I have nothing left of him but an old picture and many, many bittersweet memories tucked away deep in my heart and they are mine…all mine…to keep forever and ever…until we meet again. I love you my darling ❤
2021 and I can still feel their love 💕 just from the music 🎶 and.. Blessed to see such a beautiful love story and this will move on to the ❤️💕 We have in each other! 💋💋
No words needed the melody speaks it touches a heart and awake all feelings and memories, all the sadness and desire of a past time and love we lost, the love that never went heart keeps it, we didnt lived this life together but we stayed together in this❤forever.... In another life my love
My Heart hurts is set free to speak,in words i cannot share, when i listen to The Bridges!! My dear Wife left for Heaven, leaveing me berift of grief, thinking i could have loved her more, could have done so much more. The loss never subsides, but now has inspires me to love another beautiful woman in my life. Your heart now lives in me. and i considor myself gifted.
This is just incredible!! I mean if the movie had not been made, those bridges, that house...all of it would have been just another place....but the movie made is so damn SPECIAL...forever!! Everyone know it was "just a movie"...yet...so many hearts around the world wish they could have met their Francesca/Robert... ⚘
eyes closed, this music gives such peace, Takes you to a beautiful place of dreams the life that you wanted, where the life of suffering dont exist ...beautuful music and beautiful movie the love story that Survived time ❤
This song takes me to a place of absolute majesty that I cannot explain. The heart cannot fathom all the love that can exist. It feels like rivers of living waters. ❤❤
I did what franchesca did .i opend the truck door & left .my life was never the same again.it is possible to love two people.i cry when i watch the movie.
I mirror your comment.... and this film was the first film that we shared..... Like yours, my life was never the same since.... Sadly 13 years later she chose to leave...... I revisit the film often and tears are frequent.... I wonder if you read the follow up book to Bridges.... If not, it is a must read the ending of which is even more heart-wrenching...
The scene where he is standing in the rain, and she has her hand on the truck door handle. It kills me every time. And when she finally drops her head in tears because she knows it cant happen, it breaks my heart. And this is the score in the background. The most beautiful thing Lennie Niehaus has ever written. If you love this, go find a short piece called My Wife With Champagne Shoulders.
The depth into the human heart this music goes is indescribable. When you find a love like this that completely consumes you from within, you're never the same again.

He is able to create the deepest emotiond only with a piano and some string arrangement. A master of his craft.
The music suits the story perfectly…just hearing it brings certain scenes to mind…an unforgettable movie/ story
I've watched this a dozen times and always cry every time.
I wonder if you read the follow up book? If not it is a must..... Its ending is even more heartbreaking.....
There are emotions and feelings that are meant to stay forever. It seems unbelievable but it's true...and this feelings will become the deepest secret in your heart.
This Certainty comes but once in a lifetime
Jennifer Reeder or never..
Sadly, not always at the right time....
@@Vandrea80 For me...it's been never !
There is a pleasure in the pathless woods,
There is a rapture on the lonely shore,
There is society where none intrudes,
By the deep Sea, and music in its roar:
I love not Man the less, but Nature more,
From these our interviews, in which I steal
From all I may be, or have been before,
To mingle with the Universe, and feel
What I can ne'er express, yet cannot all conceal
You are enlightened Keep shining
This is beautiful
Omg, this soundtrack is so beautiful!...it cuts right thru ya, it will make ya cry!
This is an outstanding film with actors and music 🎶 superb as well
She had dreams that were not fulfilled and had accepted the mundanity of her life till Richard appeared and brought romance and passion to her heart and for a brief time a dream come true It was a different time and her culture dictated preserve the family but she knew who her heart had chosen and where her ashes would rest
So true so true 😔
It was Robert who came into her life and brought romance and passion, Richard was her husband
We love you Clint Eastwood 💕 😊
Que história linda e triste. A trilha sonora é maravilhosa.
Me emociona demais.
Impossível conter as lágrimas...
I saw this movie in 1995 .I could not believe it was like my story was being told I was so shocked. I am 70 years old now and that movie My Breath Away

💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗
a beautiful soothing song , it makes the heart feel calm and relaxed and yet the song is sad but makes you feel nice in a special way
A staggering piece of music......ain't it amazing how music moves us!! Thank you Mr. Eastwood for composing something so deep.
This is a very effective musical transcription of yearning and sadness/disappointment.
Great romantic movie. I'm getting all choked up. Must compose myself. It is a must see for anyone who likes romantic movies.
Every, every time: My heart breaks.
I don't want to need you.
Why?
Cause I can't have you!
This hits so hard
Aaww
I think that would be the hardest thing to ever have to say to someone
The most painful is not being unable to have it, but after having it, and being forced to lose you
Beautiful just brings you to a different place. Thank you
This reminds me of so many bittersweet moments I shared with a married man a long, long time ago.
@@patriciakoff5893well I also have felt that way especially when you really Love someone with such emotion

This is the best movie ever

Actually, Transformers is the best movie ever. Everyone knows that.
You have to watch it to know what he is talking about
Best movie of 1995, anyway. And best Romantic movie since A Man and a Woman.

An authentic masterpiece.
The song along with the reflection on the movie allows one to me to stop and appreciate life and the simple things which goes to make it up.
Wunderschöner Film aber auch traurig. Ich wäre mit ihm gegangen. 😢😗😗😗
This song takes me to a place of absolute majesty that I cannot explain. The heart cannot fathom all the love that can exist. It feels like rivers of living waters. ❤❤
😢😢 tears in my eyes
Just beautiful - an excellent arrangement for a heartwrenching story.
Amazing
For Jessica. 1995. The old dreams were good dreams. They didn’t work out, but I’m glad I had them.
Amen
Never even seen this movie but the score absolutely elevated it🎶
