- Little demo of my new Hapas guitar. It's a Deus 828 model and I really love it. I recorded the rhythm guitars on my mesa triple rec through an SM-57. The lead tone is from my Quad Cortex, really liking the quad after having used it all year with Galactic Empire.
I'm hoping to post more than last year although we'll see. I'll be busy releasing an album with my band @InsomnivoreBand , so go check that page out if you miss me.

Keyboard concerto 1 in D minor? Excited to see if you're working on a new version of it!
Maybe one day, glad someone recognized where I stole this from
@@ErikRyde Hell yeah! Got tingles at ~ the 20 second mark when it hit me
Damn I feel like a bunch of potential was missed because the rhythm guitar wasn't more active or providing more counterpoint. I still liked the riff
Based off of the original - the harpsichord solo in BWV 1052/mv1, the bass part is actually just a pedal point. So I prog-ified this riff by making it a poly-rhythmic thing, but it’s not far from the og. I specifically chose that part because counter point is really difficult to bring over into metal. I’ve been studying Bach for years and I absolutely love counterpoint myself, but I have yet to really find a good way to make counterpoint sound heavy.
@@ErikRyde imo counterpoint won't reliably, consistently do that, but I think it's an interesting technique to use as replacement for the usual harmonisation in 3rds or 6ths for melodic sections
@@ErikRyde you've heard Spawn of Possession right?
@@goobingtons I was thinking that too
Counterpoint not sounding heavy?
Wha about BWV847a in C minor? It's basically a premade tech-death passage
Geeeez this is so sick dude I absolutely love this! Those polyrhythms were a nice a touch!
Also dig the Fredrik Thordendal-esque 8 string haha
beautiful! this was a blast to see and listen to, this deserves way more views!
this violin you are playing is just amazing
Sounds awesome, recording is super crisp
Grean job. Sounds fantastic.
New guitar sounds awesome!
😘
Beautiful guitar
Well that's at least two more of "my worlds" colliding and making my brain tingle in ways I haven't seen or thought of yet. Love this. Want more.
Right up my alley. Perfection
That tone is brutal!
Means a lot coming from you man 😄
I like that big black guitar
Okay more of this please
Dude this is the best thing I've ever heard I was headbanging internally, that shit was awesome
Super great ! ! !
Pomegranate tiger vibes. I like it
bro said animals as leaders
Playing this on 2x, which mine was at first by accident, is quite something.
Are you familiar with Consider the Source? This seems kinda like something they would do. Now I'm wondering if some of their music is directly inspired by Bach. I don't think it has to be, but it could be.
This is helping me with my mental health rn, thanks
Underrated content
This is epic.
Holy shit!! VERY dark and awesome! 0:18-0:36 made me think of Ninja Gaiden. 0:48 onward was like a Castlevania boss fight. Like the cuts to the gear too.
That syncopation is nuts 🖤
Dude, this is absolutely incredible - more baroque 8 string stuff like this please! I'm also very curious about getting a Hapas, you like the quality? I'm contemplating a baritone 6 but the wait time is brutal!
I love my Hapas so much. I waited almost 2 years for mine so I can’t blame you but it’s worth it.
Classical music is literally metal music without distortion
Wtf this is awsome thordendal vibes, how is the guitar btw? Why chose this over strandberg or aristides lol.
It's a custom hapas, they are phenomenal guitars
Hapas 828. Probably best guitar I’ve ever played that I’m the proud owner of. I’ve used strandberg for years, and love strandberg too, they’re great guitars. Only reason I’m switching to Hapas is because I have a genuine need for longer scale lengths, straight frets, and a headstock for my work that I don’t post much about on the channel.
@@ErikRyde That's good to hear,i just ordered judge 628,gonna be ready in few months i hope.Glad to hear it's worth it!
@@aksyn1tell Robert I say hello 😉

Sounds Like Flub
Bach actually wrote math progressive metal, but there was no electricity and electric guitars in those times, so nobody figured it out. Even now, not everyone understand how progressive his music was. For instance th-cam.com/users/shortsPRDa2yB81eo Andrei Gavrilov, J S Bach WTC Book 1 Prelude no 2 in C Minor, BWV 847
За Баха в металле лайк не глядя!!!
this reminds me of the band master boot record, check them out
There is a band called Meshuggah, they do similar stuff, you should check them out!
Scale the summit then?
very cool job, only thing to complain about (sorry, but bach) is that from 0:20 the two tracks sound hm, muddy together, because the other guitar track is heavy but not crisp enough and too loud in the mix, also slight overlapping effects in the rhythm at important points, which do not sound intentional. the prelude* track, on the other hand, is too quiet at important points. accentuating bach is such a thing, but can be tried gently (little, just that you can follow better). it's not really the playing but the distortion and volume mix. it sounds as if the rhythm guitar is chasing the prelude guitar closely and overtakes it twice because of interference and i think that's a pity for the absolutely good work. but what am i talking about here, i would never get it right in my life!
*don't know which one, just sounds like one
dork
Thanks for the critical listen man! I’ll say that I’m not great at producing my own stuff, so I appreciate the feedback for the mix… but I’m wondering if the polyrhythm stuff might have seemed unintentional to you. I’m sort of emulating meshuggah here too silently, so if you haven’t heard of Meshuggah, you might want to give them a listen.
Easy. Now play it on piano
NU metal
"Bach?" lol alright, settle down
Ion like it
Not thic enough
