  • Burris Signature Rings and Inserts to get your Rifle Scope optically centered. BURRIS rifle scope rings work great

    Your video just saved the life of a Hatsan 135 .25 cal that has extreme barrel rise instead of droop (the breech is cut wrong and the barrel tips up noticeably). Even with a backwards mounted utg droop compensating scope mount base, it was still shooting 8" high at 25 yards. I was using two strips of aluminum soda can to shim, but these dont hold well, tend to cause binding, and scratch up the scope These rings allow the scope to not have to be cranked ridiculously out of center focus. Hopefully the scope won't slip in the rings! I had never heard of these rings before. If this holds after a few hundred shots I'll let you know. Thanks Joe!

    I have used these for years. They pretty much will "fix" any issue you might have when mounting and zeroing a scope. Working on a Remington 581 that needs some offset. Having used signature rings and offset inserts several times, I ordered a set of inserts for some signature rimfire rings to get it properly sighted. At this point it is shooting about 2-1/2" low but I'm out of adjustment in the scope, so it's Burris signature rings to the rescue! It seems to be getting harder to find the medium dovetail rings, but diligent searching will get you there.
    BTW, you used the UTG Picatinny to dovetail adapters? I just got 2 sets to try them, but haven't gotten to as yet.

    I put those rings with a leupold scope on a 535 mossberg slugger that shoots 3 1/2 magnum slug loads that are just ridiculously powerful, almost 5000fpe with the right slug, and that scope would absolutely positively not move. Made it a tack driver

    These rings come with a chart that has the trig figured, no guessing. The center to center distance for the mounts will need to be taken into account and the supplied chart does that too. I did like you: optically centered the scope, mounted scope and shot a 3 shot group, measured poi from poa, consult the Burris supplied chart, install necessary inserts and check results with another 3 shot group. With 3 clicks on the windage I am dead on. Yes, these are on the costly side but the Burris Zee rings are all I will ever buy from now on.

      You are welcome Joe. I am not for sure but I would thing the chart can be found on line either at Burris or using Google. A handy item to have if you can locate it and print it off. Eliminates a lot of guess work.

    I like the Zee rings, but they are a total and utter pain in the ass to get the scope level with. You start snugging down the bolts and the damn thing moves on you, but now that the inserts have glued themselves to scope itself, you can't rotate it to correct the issue. You have to take it all apart and start over again. Man, what a bitch.

    Thanks for the response Joe. You are the real deal, lots of experience with you. It shows. I'll wager these rings work as well in most cases as the pricey FX and those british ones, sportsmatch. I've been buying everything , like you have, but not quite as long. I like Burris rings. I've been known to shoot highpowers, and they do work well. These will look nice and slim on a Ataman ap 16 pistol. Where You from ? I'm from alabama , but reared in North Carolina. Your drawl sounds familiar. Great information you give Joe. Thank you.

    Excellent Joe! You just helped my with this video. Now I need to get a set of these rings and an adapter (dovetail to Weaver) so I can mount my scope on the new 300S and get it so I can zero for longer distances. You da man! ha ha

    Thanks Joe, Really good video on the mounts. Do you think these Burris mounts would hold well without slippage on Diana 34 and 48 break barrels. The 34 has barrel droop and the 48 has a lot of recoil. Thanks

    Can't speak good enough of these rings. I had mis aligned rail screw holes on my .223 rifle and could not hit the broad side of a barn with it. I put these and adjusted the scope with the inserts , so I could (1) correct the windage defect on my receiver. and (2) I could add a few more Mils of elevation for longer distances at the same time. Now I have a rifle whose scope is Zero-Centred and my crosshairs are almost dead on at 600 m .

    Joe... I know this video dates back to the beginning of yr work & I just ordered these. I noticed on your scope that you located the approximate center. The scope I just purchased which is a primary arms Asics 6x32 which hasn't been on any rifle yet. Just wanted to double-check because it should be centered from the factory I don't necessarily need to do anything with it. I really think I'm going to like these rings and going forward I don't think I'll buy anything other because in my mind I want to keep the scope as centered as possible with adjusting the least amount during setup. By the way your air rifle looks like a Diana and I've been trying to locate the 56th in vain here in the U.S. keep up the great work & Thanks. Mike

    Hi Joe - Update on how these worked on a wanky Hatsan 135 that was shooting 2 feet high at 25 yards (comment from 11 months ago on this video). So far so good even on this powerhouse, around 200 shots with no loosening after being locktited!

    Hi Joe. I have a set of Burris signature zee rings and I was wondering what torque you use to torque down the scope rings onto the scope tube. I have a 30mm scope tube.

    • @CyclopsJoeVideos

      15-18 lbs

    • @TheWilferch
      @TheWilferch ปีที่แล้ว

      @@CyclopsJoeVideos ...that's not a torque number......it should be 15 to 18 INCH-pounds.....torque is force x distance. Someone will read this and think 15-18 FOOT -pounds...as this is the more common units used ( automotive, etc)

    • @TheWilferch
      @TheWilferch ปีที่แล้ว

      @johngallagher3732 ...look, maybe a point made not for you, but maybe for others...... torque is a " force x distance" value. Being a moron or not ....you don't describe a torque value with ONLY the force number by itself. And specifically because MOST torque values are stated for automotive use....AND that most torque wrenches are those that are calibrated in *ft-lbs*.......we better be CLEAR we're talking INCH-POUNDS here. Just sayin'......

    • @TheWilferch
      @TheWilferch ปีที่แล้ว

      @johngallagher3732 ....here we go again....another responder who got real brave but only after hiding behind a keyboard, saying things he probably wont say if our faces were 6" apart. Look.....being CORRECT is not being a POMPOUS ASS ( man, you must have some issues !!).....so let's all assume all responders know everything about torque on guns, because.... well..only guys who worked on guns look at these posts, right....and if someone was stupid enough to use ft-lbs he'd come back and only THEN would somebody say "in-lbs". I guess being either civil, or correct....or even pro-active to HELP AVOID issues ......makes people pompous asses. There's always one.

    • @TheWilferch
      @TheWilferch ปีที่แล้ว

      @johngallagher3732 ....just tell me,.....why the attitude? I don't know you... and you don't know me....but you're quick to be belligerent in print. The only reason is that you're comfortable doing this behind a keyboard and it must stroke some kind of ego satisfaction for you to counter an inferiority complex. Others here will see that if you don't. But back to the point.....not everyone who reads these has mechanical history having worked on guns before. Good for you that you have...and that you know what you're talking about. but torque is force x distance.....you can't get away with that. Answers like 15 lbs is idiotic. Yeah...if you used ft-lbs you'd know after the first one that broke.....but unlike you....I try to help others avoid breaking things. I'm out......

    • @CyclopsJoeVideos
      @CyclopsJoeVideos  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      No it'll tighten and bend to fit snug . It's made to bend in if you look there is a small cut in the metal so it has room to flex inward
