  • Buddha's Lesson from the Burning House: A Story of Transformation #burninghouse #buddhastory
Once upon a time, the Buddha was teaching his disciples about the importance of letting go of attachments. He told them the following story:
"Imagine a house that is on fire. Inside the house is a beautiful vase. Would you risk your life to save the vase? Or would you simply run away to safety?"
The disciples thought for a moment and then said, "We would run away to safety."
The Buddha smiled and said, "Our attachments are like the burning house. They are impermanent and subject to suffering. If we cling to our attachments, we will suffer. But if we let go of our attachments, we can find true happiness."
    Moral of the story:
The story of the burning house teaches us that we should not let our attachments control us. Our attachments are impermanent and subject to suffering. If we cling to our attachments, we will suffer. But if we let go of our attachments, we can find true happiness.
