I've watched this runthrough when you uploaded it the first time, because I needed to know if I like the game to crowdfund it. I've liked it so I did backed it in kickstarter. Now I just watched this runthrough again to recall the rules so I can play it on Tabletopia demo, while I wait my physical copy. What I wanted to say tho is your absolutely impeccable explanations covering every angle of the rules and all the choice possibilities. Amazing. Thanks, Rahdo!
24:57 I absolutely feel with you, Rahdo! And I believe that's a very healthy attitude - sure, technically it can be considered cheating, but if it raises your enjoyment of a game, especially in a solo game where it certainly doesn't disadvantage others - instant life improvements :-)
had a similar discussion with someone while playing zuuli the other day while scoring in the end i just said "as long as we are both getting it wrong the same way then we be fine it wont make a difference" lol
I happened to have a pair of 3-D glasses at hand, and I watched some of this while wearing them. It actually worked! 😎 It’s a cool concept, but I don’t see how it adds anything to the game.
I'm ashamed to admit that it wasn't until the Bot card was drawn that it occurred to me that this looked like a Pleasant Company game. Their art is so recognizable, whether it's Ancient Terrible Things, Konja, etc. So I'll probably like where this goes.
Also explains why some words aren't full words, like "Ruba" for rubber and "Furtha" instead of further. I don't know why that's their thing, but I'm not going to start questioning it now ;)
Wonder if there would be a day in the future when people open a rahdo video and go "aww man it's rahdo and not Shea" haha. Opening rahdo's videos these days, you don't always know who you're going to get. And they're both amazing. Shea was a great addition to this channel. Different but similar.

whoa. gotta say, I was kind of stunned at what you say starting at 24:40. I mean, I'm all in favor of playing games how you want to play them as long as everyone involved is on board, but given how you generally condemn the idea of trying to fix parts of games that you have personal preference issues with (to the extent of even having an entry about it in your FAQ), i was pretty surprised.
i didn't look at that time stamp, but i assume you're referring to how much we had memory elements in games, and 'cheat' to avoid it. yeah, that's not unique to this game, we'll do similar trick in any game where it expects us to remember things. we never do it in such a way that it gives us access to info we shouldn't have normally, but we will always try to nix memory wherever possible :)
imo, this would go a lot better if you just played and made very brief comments while doing so. this is so verbose that i don't get a sense of actually how it runs.
This is Rahdo's thing, and there are thousands of subscriber that would disagree with you. His style gives you a sense for the decisions that need to be made, rather than the flow of a whole game.
He used to give more of an overhead view of the game compared to turn by turn thinking. This has shifted over the years. I do agree that I wish there was more of a overarching brief rundown of how the game works before diving into the nitty gritty.
You keep saying "I could go to the Outpst" but dude, you can't. You only have 2 distance, and it requires 3. It's right there on the top of the card...
