TCL has come a long way. Problem still is upscaling, which is still not great. No where near Sony. Nothing I watch is in 4k, so processing and upscaling is most important. TCL now needs to improve their processor, and if they want to really improve their sales, they should double their warranty as I've read a lot of comments of their TV's only lasting a couple of years for a lot of people.
Yeah, while some innovations might seem minor at first glance, they often play a role in refining existing technologies or improving the user experience. It's all about building brick by brick.

I'm thinking about the 85in qm8...do you have any issues with judder or motion blur during fast moving scenes? Some say this is an issue.

Sony doesn't make its own panels. It's outsourcing from other manufacturers such as TCL, Samsung and LG.
