- In this video I share five steps that can be taken if you get to age 40 or age 50 and are not prepared financially for retirement the steps include getting in financial literacy by watching TH-cam videos, reading books, doing courses, and hiring a coach. The second step is to identify the source of phones that will be invested in your retirement plan or pension fun to include income from your job, your business, or a side hustle. The second step is to determine what your retirement plan will be to include your pension plan and your retirement fund. Will you leverage employer-based retirement plans are your 401(k) or Social Security to be able to retire comfortably. The next step is to get rid of high interest debts to make more cash available to invest in your retirement fund and the last step is to create an emergency fund and start insurance such as critical illness insurance and health insurance. If you're at or near retirement age and have been struggling to make ends meet, don't worry - you're not alone. According to a recent study, as many as 50% of people over the age of 50 are now struggling to maintain their standard of living.

What I did, was taking a state job, it doesnt have the best pay, but they do have the best pension plans and other benefits. 👍 And dont forget, if you own a home, every time you do a payment, that is investing.

Wow what you said about insurance and illness is so true! I had a stroke in February and thank God I have a life insurance that gives me critical income replacement coverage. I’m self-employed so the insurance made it possible for me to claim a few hundred grand to pay for my expenses and take care of my family financially while I recovered. Thank God I signed up for this many years ago. It’s very helpful, guys! She is telling the truth!

You are totally correct. We have to understand how money works. If you have a 401K or 403B and in your 40's spend less and start saving 15 percent plus. Make sacrifices early stop looking at the Jone's and be yourself. Brand your own last name for you and your family. Invest in either home ownership or home investment. Build your credit immediately. It can be done.

Good morning miss Oddette I'm going to be sixty three I'm working for a company but it's on contract i have an insurance policy but I don't know where I'll be getting the money to pay as soon as I'm retired.
To hear you talk about surplus bring back painful memories for me I was talking to my co-workers about saving for retirement and I use the word surplus and they almost killed me I have to leave the job . and to hear you say Jamaica because I am a Jamaican and it was my Jamaican coworker .
