Oof... I'm currently dealing with a leaking bulkhead fitting on the right tank of my S-19. Drained the tank, disassembled everything and fished the pickup tube out through the filler neck, put everything back together with a fresh o-ring and had the same "not really sure how tight is too tight" moment. Ended up going too tight. 🤦♂ Just ordered some new parts from Rans and will do it again. This video was really helpful to see how much you tightened the lock nut. I definitely went way more on my first attempt. Looks like you went to about snug, and then maybe 90-180 degrees past that?
You may want to reinforce that wing rack with some cargo straps for extra safety. I’ve seen a builder take damage to their wingtip when the carpet separated and dropped the end of the wing to the concrete. That would be a shame!
I always hate the “How tight is too tight?” situations and I’m only working on my cars! Another enjoyable video. Thanks.😮
Great video. Thanks DJ. Should have watched this before I started on the tanks. Stay ahead of my build so I can watch and learn 😅😅😅

That would work too.

Thx! I considered some 4" wide poly cargo strap. The carpet is already a bit brittle.
