The bridge that the train is racing over is known as the Sounding Arch, and designed by Brunel and is at my home town of Maidenhead, Berkshire, England U.K. and the old stone bridge referred to is Maidenhead briidge, built I believe in the early 1700s! --- both bridges span over the river Thames!

Hey there! Can you send me some images of such bridge? I am writing an essay on this turners piece! I'd appreciate

@@spray7679 Probably too late for you, but there are photographs of that bridge, the Maidenhead Railway Bridge, at: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Maidenhead_Railway_Bridge
It was designed by Isambard Kingdom Brunel. It used the widest and flattest brick arches in the world at the time. The arch was so shallow people didn't believe it would stand. Brunel was ordered to leave the supporting woodwork in place to support the arches. However, Brunel, being a real 'badass' engineer, actually had the woodwork lowered so it didn't touch the bridge, but looked like it did. A while after the bridge was fully operational, the woodwork was washed away in a flood. Of course the bridge stood, and Brunel was proven correct publicly.

The locomotive is very probably of the Firefly Class - over 60 were built from 1840 onward and some were known for their high top speed of 60 mph - some trains averaged runs of over 50 mph between stations.

The title of this one really resonates with me. It's been raining (and knocking out my Internet, which has me steaming), and I'm still trying to make progress with great speed, lol.
I've also been on a train for the first time just last month. I'm sure it was different to what's being portrayed here, but I can't imagine seeing a powerhouse transport method like this for the first time in history. What a revelation that must've been.
I get a strong sense of velocity from the detail view of the train (around 3:00). And I was surprised to hear about the little rabbit heading for the hills! I would've missed it otherwise. 🤭 The way you both described this scene really brought the piece to life.

It's actually a Hare not a rabbit racing in front of the train, hard to see as it tends to blend in with the background!
