If you have a radio, set it to 121.5. Make sure your ELT is set to armed. Most of the kits installed in the cockpit on the switch you just need to hold on, wait a few seconds, and then press reset (do this at the top of the hour to five past) you should hear the the radio go off. If not then your batteries in the elt might be dead, or the small battery in the cockpit installed unit might be bad too. As for logbook I’m not the one who signs them so I can’t help there, sorry
Very good advice I change mine every 24 months unless I use it hopefully that day will never come but I do do a test I actually write on the outside of the yellow box the date I changed the battery and the expiring date of the battery thank you for sharing love your work PS any advice on how to check your valves. Do you go from the bottom of the spark plug to look at the valves and how do you do a spark plug check
Yes. I use a borescope (Vivadia) and go in through the spark plug holes and can get really good pics of the valves. All of this information is in my book I recently published: Maintenance Handbook for Van's RV aircraft. You can get it at Aircraft Spruce, Vans Aircraft, and my website. WWW.Baselegaviation.com/store
My ACK ELT-04 is supposed to be tested every three months and now I know why -- my panel switch died at some point, and I didn't even know it! Luckily I can at least be sure of the health of the transmitter's battery, because it occasionally goes off for no reason whatsoever. 🤣
great job
How about a video on the testing of the elt and what goes in the logbook
