    You guys rock. I have been snowmobiling for 15 years or so and just picked up my first snow-bike. Never really ridden a motorcycle or anything before. Love it for sure and miss the power of my sled; I can see the appeal of a turbo for sure. Thanks for the great videos and the tips on riding. I will have to look you up when I start rolling up north in my rig.

      Thanks for the note! Welcome to the snowbike club! This just in, Boondocker is no longer making turbo kits for snowbikes. Ian from Riders Edge Suspension had a chat with them.
      I have had some nice reflection time since riding the turbo. I think it is somewhat of an attempt to make a sled out of a snowbike. For me, a lot of the joy of snowbiking is in the unique adventure. Side-hilling for your climbs is just as fun, and they last longer!
      Sled will always have their place, and snowbikes take up a different space.
      Even though I don't need a turbo, now I am a bit sad that I don't even have the option. I am sure there is a deep and important reason for them going away, but hey, what a blast!
      May all of your days be BOMBER!

    Great vid guys as usual. Turbo performance looks cool, even though the vid demonstrates it was the turbo snowbike spending most of it's time stuck. Not too mention the Yeti proving once again they are not Timbersled TOUGH. But great content as usual.

      This incident does have me thinking about my precious 129 SS and how exposed some of those carbon fibre pieces are. It's pretty cool that you can fix a TS with a hammer!

    I really like watching your videos, you make it look so easy. I had the opportunity years ago to ride, do I dare say it, a Snowhawk. It was fun, but it was a handful to ride. I only had it for one day so I didn't really get a chance to figure it out. A snowbike though I think would ride completely different. And looks to be much more fun. Maybe one day, if I can justify the cost I'll own one. Until then I'll just keep watching your vides and wishing.
    P.S. nice job riding the bike up Hells Gate in the intro. I've been up it in a Jeep, but not on a bike.

    Get some grab straps on those bikes! One at the back of the seat held by the seat bolt and one up front held by the forks. Makes a world of difference trying to pull a bike up and not yank on fenders etc...

    wait a minute.. 122hp? what else did you do to the Engine? from like 72-75hp up to 122? the Engine cant handle that if its stock with just a turbo on it

      First off a 520 maybe has 60 62 horse stock so a turbo simply won't double the power so there must be mods done along with beefing up the tyranny and clutch it wasn't engineered for double the power input

    • @scp8412
      @scp8412 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@joel387ktm that's what I was thinking... she would need to be super beefed op. I'm guessing 75hp total

    • @EnglertRacing96
      @EnglertRacing96 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@joel387ktm um first stock they are maybe 55hp really. And actually a tubo @ 14.7 psi nearly doubles power.
      Also the hp/l on dirt bikes is pretty low (traded for wide power band) in the grand scheme at 100-110hp/L
      In contrast to a sport bike at over 200hp/L

    Ending the video with. But do I really need more power? Is a like way of say until next time just leaves me wanting more

  • @jamiebouchard9862
    @jamiebouchard9862 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    Is it highly recommended to run a recluse clutch on a 2stroke? I traded my sled for a bike and now I regret it. I’ve got a rm250 2stroke and would really enjoy trying it out. If I could find a relatively affordable conversion kit without having to dump 6 plus hundreds on a clutch then I’d definitely be in!! If you reply to comments, what is the absolute cheapest, and then which do u recommend for a budget build? Thanks a lot man, u made a great video.

    • @509FUN
      @509FUN 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      250 will be limited with the lack of power, 4 stroke is actually a better setup on snow bikes in most cases. You could definitely find and older kit cheap, but the older kits are more weight, find a 2016 and up would be your best bet for the bang for your buck. Light weight but still relatively affordable especially used.

    That is why I will never buy another Yurapeeon bike with no kick start, or a Yeti kit with all that nice carbon fiber to smash to pieces. But yes the turbo is a nice bit if you have lots of patience and like working on your bike in every snow bank.
    When will a bike manufacturer built us a 500cc 2 stroke with a cvt transmission solely for snowbiking please!!!

    I wouldn’t buy a bike that didn’t have option of kick start still with electric start on a bike like a 450 /500 it’s just so easy to kick start that it’s not worth it to be stuck out there with a cold dead battery without kick start ability
