at 16 this was the bike i was waiting for 17 to get i never got one in the end and now 41 seeing this beautifully restored example all those old feelings came rushing back its just how i remembered it although i wanted a blue one
Great job on the restoration. Not many people would put that much work into that kind of bike. Normally it's only Harleys or rare antique bikes that get that sort of treatment. Your TS looks flawless so well done. I can't imagine how many hours of elbow grease you put into it. I found one for my youngest son. It was his first bike. I remember taking it 20 miles to Norwich for it's MOT as he didn't have his license yet. I took all the back roads as I didn't think it would be fast enough for the dual carriageway. Even though I hadn't been on such a small bike for years I had the biggest grin on my face by the time I got to Norwich. Way more fun than the Bandit I had at the time. So don't ever let anyone tell you your bike ain't cool. Enjoy it to the max!
Nice vid. Thanx for sharing. I believe the 125x with a drum instead of the disc at the front was called a Ts125xue. I had the same on a c plate. It was fast but struggled to get past 75mph and I put loads of mods like cogs and a fresco and power Reed on it but it made little difference sadly.
Perfect idling and gas reactions. Could you give me some informations about this carburetor, please? I'd like to learn the main jet and pilot (idle) jet sizes, as well as the appropriate fuel level. I'm repairing a bike like this, mounted with a carburetor Mikuni 24 type, and am afraid main jet and pilot jet calibers are incorrect so I can't adjust the flawless operating ways. Thanks!
mine is pretty trashed. Having lots of difficulty finding parts. It's been my first bike and still the one I'de love to keep alive. Any tips or a break down of everything you've done? looks amazing!
Is this bike too demanding if you are a beginner? I had Honda MT5 for 5 years ago but I never learned to drive it, too complicated with the gears. Besides, it had issues with a lot of things, so I sold it. This sounds almost like MT5, I thought this should sound more like a MC.

Awesome. First bike I ever had on the road. Bought it new in July 1984, A reg. Yours looks identical, but mine had blue fork gaiters. Good times :-)
Mine was black and saw a lot of serious off road.
Took a beating and kept coming back for more.
Great bike.
Would love to get my hands on another one.
I recently restored a black 1986 model with disc brake, awesome bike really. Rare nowadays!
