So the UCI cut a deal that grants all broadcasting rights in the US to Universal and then Universal doesn't broadcast cross. Result: it's impossible to watch World Cup cross in the US (except for bootleg). Ridiculous.
+StillLife Thanks for posting this information! I've been watching boolegged versions on TH-cam in Flemish and was hoping there was a legal, English broadcast.
+James Hammond Cyclingfans.com has a good selection of channels to watch CX steaming live from Europe. I almost always find one that works. Quality so so. Usually not in English of course but if you know the riders it's not hard to follow. Road races too.

As a spectator this seems cool. As a rider it looks like the worst sport ever. Cycling is about efficiency, yet they rake a skinny tire bike and ride it through mud, sand, gravel and grass and whatever else a road bike should never ride through. This just looks hard for the sake of hard which makes no sense to me. Idk but a bike race that requires you to carry your bike isn’t a bike race. Road bike+ beach sand= stupid
@@jhyssenaedricisada6871 Whatever. It’s basically a road bike with 10mm wider tires. Which doesn’t matter because you still can’t ride it through beach sand.
@@bucknaked6674 my very first sentence says “as a spectator this seems cool”. I realize that most TH-cam commenters only half read the comment, scanning for something/anything to take issue with, So they can fire back without really even understanding what they have read. Congratulations! Today you are that guy.
Cyclocross was a way for riders to still get their miles in off season, with archaic bikes. To me, cycling is about having fun and that's arguably why they did cx back then I assume, well up until it became pretty competitive I guess.
What is the name of this great cyclo - cross commentator ? I really enjoy his commentating!
WOW!
Bravo Sven!
