your videos honestly did so much for me this this year. finally got out of that terrible mind set of " I CAN'T HIT DRIVER!". put in an absurd amount of time and practice and finally feel confident hitting my driver in any situation. had 14 rounds between +10 and +13. your tips on managing temper, expectation and the course have been so useful. keep em coming my man!

Matt, Firstly, my sincere condolences on the loss of your mom. I lost my parents when I was young so I know what that's like. Secondly, I currently play with a similar set to improve my shot decision making. I use a Driver, 5-Wood, 6-Hybrid, 8-Iron, Pitching Wedge, Sand Wedge and Putter. It really makes you "think" your way around the course. Love your videos and the way you present the information. Keep it up, Playa

A. You are really good around a green. (Way better than me.) B. I'm shocked at how much you miss the greens with the approach shot. At my favorite courses I hit 7-12 greens most round. I was a +3 a few years ago. Probably +7/+8 now playing less. I wish I could chip (I'm not too far behind you, but you are definitely better than me ) and putt (too often I lag from 15 for a tap in, you just make them). I really enjoy your videos.
A - sometimes - could be better if I practiced at all B - I don't practice and play once a week nowadays because I am busy and missing greens is expected. Also not going to hit many greens with 6 clubs in the bag on a new course you've never seen. I don't ever play the same course over and over and play new courses each week, but the course I play most at, Dynasty, I hit 10-14 greens a round.
@6:07 when I'm off the green like that, I like using a 7 iron and make a putting stroke with it. Stroke it with the same firmness that you would as if you had a putter. it will help get the ball up a tiny bit and get it rolling out.
This course is beautiful!!! I agree, whoever designed this was a pure genius. I would love to play here one day. And I am sorry to hear of your loss. I lost my dad in April 2020. It's tough, but bauses come back stronger. Be the baus you were meant to be. :-)
You'll get there soon playa. It is a long process. The ego is harder to hide when you're playing with someone. That is true enlightenment, when even when there is someone else there, you can plug away at YOUR game

I see what you mean about the importance of using laser range finder. I had a gaping session recently and am getting a Bushnell for Christmas. Time to get serious about course management. I love the way you explain everything,especially the best place’s to miss when things don’t quite work out. I have just got back into golf, it's been 15+ years. However, my co worker john loves to golf.. as do I. I didnt have clubs and he had several sets. So we went golfing and have since almost every weekend except those were on call. But he always wins, and I'm determined to beat him. I watched so many videos and honestly when I came across yours about stress free golf and breaking 90 then 80 then 70 then watching course management. Lol. I went out this weekend with john and using his range finder I was actually shooting 1 under par when normally I'm shooting mid 80's. Well until he broke out the salted Carmel schnapps lmao... it went down hill from there. Point is you have tought me more is a few videos than anyone else. Thank you!! I started saying 50% skill 50% will. I know this is long but I have so much to say. My apologies. I have started breaking down everything in my swing I went to a sporting good place to see if a different driver angle would give me more yardage Because John gave me a 10.5ﾟ and after trying a 9ﾟ I got a 30 yd difference so last time we went golfing I used his 9ﾟ and I was blowing him away on my drives I think psychologically it got to him and he was definitely not winning that day lol. At any rate, I am trying to be a scratch golfer and for what I have learned from you and your videos has brought my strokes down by 10 in only one week. let's see if I can keep it up... So I wanna say thank you I have subscribed liked and hit the bell to get notified about every single video, I love your style, I love your positive attitude, and honestly it has made my golf game a lot better. When I feel stressed... I remember, thare is always another hole. 😜 thanks again.

I have taken at least 10 strokes off my score card thru the last 14 rounds this year +8avrg. by taking less clubs out (driver , 5 wood 4hyb.. 4, 6 , 8 irons, sw & putter) , but it helps to get fitted or at least take notes at the range so you know your distance after hitting about 100 balls/club for me. I got a feel for what I was actually using thru my 1st 65 times golfing since 8/2018 . Now it's time for 0 to +4 for my 90 day goal. Condolences to your family. Play on Playa!

sometimes, in situations like 5:45 , it's another option to chip with a hybrid and bounce it into the slope - if you have one in the bag currently which was not the case here...
Yes of course. I can't do the hyrbid thing. The face is too hot for me to contorl chipping. I think the old 3 woods back with steel shafts were great for it though

I've followed your advice about only playing the clubs you have confidence in (leaves 8 clubs in my bag, but my scoring has improved). If that course grew a little rough, with those green complexes, it could probably host a pro event. Finally, sorry to hear about your mom's passing; I lost mine a few years ago, and I know how painful it can be.

My chipping/putting from off the green has gotten pretty great because my local course has greens that are tiny. Every green, except 2 of them, (9hole course) is 20yrdsx20yrds or smaller, so you learn how to get up and down from a chip and a putt pretty quickly lol.

That's crazy but it will make you way beter at irons too and will feel like a whole new world when you hit the bigger greened golf courses

If I get into a slump with my "golf swing", I will play 8clubs. I start to think about golf shots rather than golf swings. My set up is p/ , S/L, pw, 8, 6, 4h, 2h, D. .. It's great practice, and fun.
