    Great info, Kelsey! I came over from Instagram as well. Providing a suggested content package is very professional and helps the hotel decide more quickly if they want to work with you. It shows that you have your stuff together and aren’t just an influencer looking for a free stay with no plan.
    I’m not sure which mic you’re using, you can get a corded Lavalier mic to clip on if you want a more discreet look. You can run the cord under and behind clothing so you don’t have to wear the entire pack on the front. Totally up to what works for you, though!

      Thank you so much and for watching! And I'm currently testing out a few different mic set ups ;)

    This video is so educational and more detailed than most other videos I've found so far! Thank you so much for sharing. What would you suggest for content creators specifically, not necessarily influencers? I only have a few hundred followers on ig (and no other platform right now), but I've seen/heard people on here encouraging people who are just starting out and have a small following to already start pitching to hotels, etc because "numbers don't matter, really". However, in your video it was a lot about your big follower count and free stay in exchange of promotion to your followers. Sorry, I overexplained it a bit 😅 But what do you think of this?

    Hi hi! Loved the video, such useful info! About how early do you reach out to brand about staying with them?

      Hi! There isn’t an exact timeline honestly but ideally at least a month before your trip to have some lead time!

    This was super helpful! I am just starting a business so don’t yet have a huge following. Do you suggest I wait until I have more followers before reaching out to hotels?

      I'm so glad it was helpful! In general I would say to at least have 10K followers in order to get some traction, but it you have a photo or video portfolio I think you can reach out anytime! :)

    Hey Kelsey, thanks for this video. I'm curious to where you draw the line on free/exchange collaborations and paid work? As a full-time photographer myself, it can be challenging to compete at times against the influences who just want to partner for a free stay for content. Would love to hear your thoughts.

      Hey! I love this question...I actually filmed five minutes talking about it and then realized the video was way too long and cut it haha. I think it all comes down to what you offer. If you specialize in working with properties, then you're offering them a very high quality full content package getting them exactly what they want. A full shot list, models, working with them closely on a produced shoot, etc. I think that looks very different than casually getting a bit of content during a free stay, so I think you can differentiate yourself. I hope that makes sense!

    This is amazing thank you so much for sharing! I have a silly question- what program/software do you use to deliver photos in bulk form to a client? Thanks Kelsey! Love your work!

      Hi! Not a dumb question! If they are picking selects, I first share a gallery on Pixieset, and then when I deliver photos I just use Google Drive. Hope that helps :)

    Hi Kelsey, thank you for sharing all the details about creating content for hotels. I just wanted to ask if possible what made you ask for a trade instead of getting paid? Because you have a large following and I would think hotels would pay for you to stay and for usage rights

    I have an account with 1k follower. I wasn't active for a long time. Should i be more active and THEN try to contact companies? Or do i need more follower?

    Do you earn money from doing this or do you just get to stay at an hotel for free?

    • @heykelseyj
      @heykelseyj  หลายเดือนก่อน

      I've done both! This video is tailored to beginners that are looking for free stays while traveling, but of course there's always the possibility of paid gigs especially with larger hotel chains that have bigger marketing budgets.
