1. We need to understand: We serve God only by His mercy (vs 1)
2. We need godly sincerity, with faithful proclamation of the Word (vs 2)
3. We need to understand biblical conversion (vs 3 - 6)
4. We need a right view of self (vs 7)
5. We must aim for God's glory alone (vs 7b, 15)
6. We must not lose heart through our afflictions (vs 1, 8-18)
