Hi Chris - this channel has completely changed my hair from a frizzy, dry, crackly mess to the softest, shiniest it's ever been. That said, I have coarse hair but also some hairline recession and thinning. As a result, I've been using topical 5% minoxidil at night. Once it dries it gets kind of sticky but by morning it feels alright. I could probably easily go a week without washing, but I'm concerned about the minoxidil building up. I have a question: does age affect your description of hair types? I am 69 and have always been told my hair is fine. It is on the silky side, it is challenging to achieve volume and often does not want to hold curl. If I don't use product and let it do what it wants it is flat. When I was younger I had somewhat oily hair. Now that I am older I find that I can get three days out of a hair wash. The third day is flatter and a more difficult to make look good but I can do it. My guess would be that my hair IS fine even though I almost always get three days out of a wash. So, just wondering what you would say to help me get the correct shampoo. I have a little bit of white or silver coming in and that hair is very slightly wavy, not coarse or tight curls like some older women get.

  • @susanhemme8465

Chris! Watching you has absolutely, positively revolutionized the health of my hair! I have spent my life thinking I had fine, hard to grow hair. Through watching you and using your Trinity hair care system, I think I have come to understand I have neither! I am, however, having a tough time deciding if I have medium or course hair. I can easily go 6-7 days without washing my hair.....does this fact automatically qualify me for course? Does hair diameter matter in this equation? Even though I can easily go a week without washing my hair, it does not hold a curl very well. Might this be more related to using the wrong products? Regardless, I am definitely on the right track to getting the most out of my hair, and it is all due to you!!!

Used the Redken Volume injection shampoo and conditioner for the first time 2 days ago (cleansing cream only arrived yesterday), and my hair still isn't greasy, even though we've had insane temperatures and I've been sweating. Usually, I would have seen grease form by the afternoon on the very first day. Excited to see what will happen when I add the cleansing cream as a first wash. Also, I don't think my hair has ever had this much volume without me doing anything. Unfortunately, I couldn’t get the pulp riot, because I do actually air dry my hair

@@carlysmith8971 I am still using them. My hair doesn't get oily during the day even if it's hot, but I'm still not comfortable leaving it unwashed, because it does get greasier than I want it to be, which makes my skin oilier, which causes me to break out. So I still wash every day, I only wash my hair once and use the cleansing cream about every third wash, but overall I really am much happier than I was before. I also need to use far less conditioner than if I buy cheaper ones.

Hello Chris! Thank you so much for your videos. I have very thin, fine hair and I am having a LOT of shedding and hair loss lately. I was wondering if you have any recommendations for shampoo, conditioner, or brands for hair growth while strengthening the rest? Thank you SO much! 🥺♥️

You could try the curlsmith strenght line, the shampoo contains a bit of protein. Personally I've seen less shedding using that one.

Using my hubby's YT Account...but, I'm headed to buy the Redken Big Blowout today. I have to say I have medium hair and I absolutely LOVE Pureology Hydrate shampoo and conditioner - I always go back to it. I also love the Pureology Colorfanatic Multitasking Leave-In Conditioner. I had no idea it wasn't a great heat protector though. I'm looking forward to the Big Blowout results!!

How long after switching shampoos should you notice a difference? I recently upgraded to a professional shampoo specifically for oily scalp and doing 2 washes, stopping when it lathers but i'm yet to be able to increase the time inbetween washes. Should I be able tell by now if this is right shampoo for me?

These are great options. Plus I've very rarely gone to a salon. Maybe less than 5 times. When I do go, if I have products that really work for me, I take it with me. I like showing them stuff that works(not telling them how to do their job but more of the kind of products I've been used to). I have medium 2c wavy hair. Those times I've had hair done they appreciate feedback. It helps them hone their craft better. Everyone's different but its definitely part of the hair journey. 😊

@@sophiafigueroa2228 well depending on what you buy for your hair, I make sure to research it to see if the pH level is balanced( 4.5 to 5.5). Calia shampoo is really good natural stuff. Plus I also like Viori ricewater shampoo and conditioner bars. I have been using those for a few years now and it works wonders. Shiny hair, light, no buildup, natural. Plus I've seen mega growth in baby hairs growing fast over the past year. So try some natural stuff see what works. Depending on what you what to do with your hair.

💜 I am on my second week of your "hair trinity" and I'm back in love with my hair!
My fine hair used to be long to my elbow, and the top layer was completely due to breakage at ear level after I had to take strong pain killers mid 2020 (and also visiting one of the worst hair salons in Berlin). So basically I have been trying to grow my length back for two years now and it wouldn't grow past my shoulders.
After finding you I did order Olaplex No. 3, only washed my hair after three days and religiously used Shampoo, hair mask, conditioner, leave in conditioner and hair oil. I kid you not, I can't stop touching my hair although I know I shouldn't 😆
It's so soft, glossy and bouncy!
So thank you for your amazing content! Do you take suggestions for trying out new products? I love my Goldwell Just Smooth Shampoo, 60 second mask, conditioner and the 6 effects serum (leave in). It's a professional salon brand over here and I saw you can get it at Walmart. I'd love to hear your opinion about that. 🤩

OMG the hot flashes are the worst! My biggest problem is the back of my neck, hence the back and under layers of my hair get wrecked. I started using my underarm antiperspirant (Secret Clinical Strength Clear Gel) on the back of my neck and gotta say it WORKED!
I realize that isn’t going to work all over the scalp, but I wonder if wearing a terry lined hair wrap/shower cap would help?
I also found this (see link below) i haven’t tried it but like the Carpe product for feet sweat works great.
      Here’s their link:
      mycarpe.com/products/scalp-serum
Google “scalp antiperspirant” and there are other products out there- if one doesn’t work try another, but this Carpe brand I’ve had good luck with and reviews are good saying doesn’t weigh hair down. Good luck with the menopause!

This is the best definition of fine hair I've ever seen; the flat-to-the-head thing, that it needs washing very regularly or the roots (and then shafts) can get oily and make it look lank quite quickly. I'm a guy who always assumed that he had course hair, mainly because it's quite thick and often frizzes-up, and it's only because a new hairdresser dubbed it 'fine' recently that I started thinking otherwise. The only thing is, my hair can feel quite dry a lot of the time, so it's a bit paradoxical.
