I often wondered how to hide antennas on a vehicle. Remember some time ago, some car makers put the AM/FM antenna in the windshield. It was a tee configuration. I have something similar on my back window of the pickup. All metal body, so window is about the best place to hide one. Great video, thanks!
Great video Roly. Its always nice to see Gary. Back in the early 2000s when flip phones were a thing a popular accessory was a fractal antenna for your phone. it came on a peel off sticker that went on the body of the phone behind the battery. The idea was though mutual coupling the fractal antenna would extend the range of the phone. I tried a few of these peel off antennas. Did It work? Maybe, never really notice much of an improvement. Fractal antennas are indeed everywhere. I have a USB WiFi Dongle that is extremely small. It uses a fractal antenna and work very well. 73 Joe
I did make an antenna out of aluminium tape once when i had an extended stay in a hotel here. I stuck that to a window. It worked fine but it was really difficult to get good solid connections to the coax cable....... Glass antennas are also used sometimes in cars for the broadcast receive radios, I am not sure how they would go for transmit.... cheers
What about a blade antenna on the roof which sits flat against the roof of the car which will be used as a ground plane but operates like a vertical antenna and has causes no wind noise.
Hello Roly, Tried to send emails about the Roly coil to your QRZ email. So far no response for months. Is there another email or contact method I should switch to? Thanks.
Another great video Roly... always good to see Gary's ingenuity in actin.
Glad you enjoyed it ....cheers

Thank s for the inotu Joseph....cheers
Not correct--none of those bogus stickers were fractal. --W1YW
Brilliant! Gavin ZL3GAV
Thanks Gav .... Cheers
Cheers for the video. Very informative. How did you calculate the phasing between the two fractal antennas?
Ahhh. drop Gary an email and ask him.... you will find his details on QRZ ..... cheers
The cable lengths are not important but they both must be the same - Cheers Gary ZL3SV
@@garyw9820 Thanks Gary... cheers
What’s the updates on this a year later?
Hi...thanks for video . Just wondering if it is possible a fractal antenna for 27 MHZ. Thanks
Yes, I will ask Gary to comment as well.
Brilliant 👍
Thank you...cheers
Thats smart! Thanks for sharing
Thanks for watching! cheers
Hello from Canada,ve7gde Great video Roly.Is there anyway of getting information from Gary on building this type of antenna? Or contacting Gary.
Yes, Gary's details can be found on his QRZ page. There is a link there to his website and further contact details.......cheers
Any thoughts on the on glass antennas for VHF and UHF? No drilling and they are low profile.
