My daughter and I were at the local co-op this morning picking up horse and duck feed, and the end cap on the isle we were standing in front of had candy bars, castrating tools, and hard liquor all on the same shelf. You don't see that much in the city...

What a blessing to have the Rhodes as friends! It often takes a while to make friends when you move to a new area. And I imagine it's even harder when you homestead since you are so busy. There seems to be a great homestead community in NC. You all are blessed!

I was going to wait to ask after you completed the work on the house, but thought I'd just throw it out there now too! Great work on the new smoker.👍 I sure miss you all having vids more often. So glad to see you post! Miss you all but know you are getting into your routine and working like crazy. You both are so talented and amazing in all you do! So happy you have found your niche~ it seems to fit well on you! Great things in the future I know as you two never say never.
Waiting for the next soap release as I've missed it each time living on the west coast and I so want to try your products. :)
    Maybe next time! :-)
The fields are looking great and the chickens and the pigs are really cleaning and tilling for you.........it's so amazing of some of the things we take for granted or see as work but when we really get to engage visually seeing the results on the channels, it really is amazing how it all goes hand in hand. Many blessings on that! It's a job and a half I know but the boys will be so knowledagle as they grow.........it will become something they just KNOW how to do! Great education.....they will never be hungry for sure! So many kudos to you both.
All the best to you in all you do!

Save your cherry or hickory tree scraps if you have any and they are great for smoking meats.
We had a smoker at the restaurant I worked at and we did wings, turkey, chicken, and fresh pork ribs, chops and bacon. People loved it....The extra left overs we would seal well and put in the freezer.
I donated cherry and peach wood from my farm but if you have a orchard nearby they do trimmings and maybe they let you have some.
Love the way you come up with make it from what we have. That’s homesteading.
