Best Hotel View in Rome - Planetarium Suite at Cavalieri Waldorf Astoria

- I visited a few luxury hotels on my recent Italian luxury adventure but none had views like the Rome Cavalieri Waldorf Astoria (romecavalieri.com/). Perched on Monte Mario (yet only a short ten minute drive from central Rome) the resort hotel offers sweeping views of the entire city and all her iconic monuments. Here's a tour of the hotel's amazing Planetarium Suite, named for the city's observatory and planetarium which is only one hill over.

Haha, thank you very much. I wish I was wealthy, I am a travel writer so the hotels host me to write about them. I couldn't afford to stay in all these fancy suites.

Yes, exactly, an icon of Rome since opening in 1963. After renovation a few years ago it was so nice they upgraded it to a Waldorf, which is a Hilton brand. I can't wait to return to Rome, it was a spectacular hotel.

Is it possible to upgrade to this suite using points or diamond status?
Good question but I'm afraid I don't know the answer. I would contact the hotel directly (Rome Cavalieri Waldorf Astoria) via email to check. It's very expensive, the regular rate is about $10,000 per night so I don't know if you could upgrade to it or use points. Please leave another comment if you find out the answer.
