- The river was clear, a little high, and we were determined to get in, get wet, and find some treasures.
We heard the weirdest amberlamps and saw a blimp!
As always this is a how to metal detecting outdoor adventure vlog that is family friendly and hopefully a fun video.
About Aquachigger:
I like to make videos that promote my lifestyle of outdoor adventure, metal detecting, yapping, searching for river treasure, SCUBA diving, exploring abandoned places, hiking, caving, caring for animals and pets, and observing the things outdoors that often go unnoticed. I keep my TH-cam "Aquachigger" channel family-friendly and hope you subscribe if you like my style.
I hope to see you guys out there!

I hope you check out Mike's and my newest river adventure. We had a blast, and things were weird at times.
BTW, here is an Amazon associate link to the cut-proof gloves I wear in the video. They work great and are very reasonably priced. amzn.to/3Kdw1kB

Come on man you have to warn me to hold my breath. Oops never mind you got me on the next one.
Hey Chigger have you ever seen the bands Tall in the Saddle, or the Susquehanna River Band?
Chigg, there is a guy with a channel, Marty's Matchboy Makeovers, and he is in Australia. I have seen him restore some matchbox cars that are mangled and he restores them using all kinds of methods. You may even learn a thing or two about how top restore some of your Civil War items. I would love to see him give that car you found a go. You may be surprised. It would be neat for you to send that to him.
Meant to add, that pulley thing is top hardware for sliding barn door.
Suzanne: I watch all your videos. I got a Minelab about six months ago, then I found out I had breast cancer, got a lumpectomy, went through radiation, so swinging a metal detector is not in the immediate future. But I do get a kick watching your videos. You find some interesting things and I really enjoy watching. I live in NC in New Bern, there were several civil war battles here.
Virtual hugs your way, Suzanne...
Big part of my detecting is reading about the history of my area. 2 time bladder 3 skin had to give it up for 7 years, now I can do about 1 hour and love it !
You can do cast0r 0il compressions to break up lumps. Even c u re it. Hope you recover 100% god bless you.
@@SH-gd9uq Castrol oil compressions? Never heard of that. I will try it. Thank you.
@@davestelling Thank you.
For what it's worth, I appreciate the picture in a picture close ups.
I believe the milk glass is a jar lid. The flat screw driver slit is actually a receiver for a wire bale that attached to the neck of the jar. Like a swing top beer bottle with the rubber gasket.
Yep
The copper alloy item at 6:44 is a tap connector for joining wires using a crimp tool or a Neanderthal with a hammer. You mostly see them on poles, but can be used almost anywhere. The ASCR stands for aluminum conductor steel reinforced which is the overhead wiring along the roads.
Thanks for the id.
You two make a great team. Cleaning up the waters and removing the lead is a good thing for the environment. Nice relic and coins finds.👍👏😀
Thanks you all
Last I heard ,..lead is from the earth.
between the siren and blimp, this videos taken a turn for the surreal!
3:16 kinda looks like a throat to some sort of ceremonial scabbard.
4:50 barn door or hayloft truck pully.
5:10 thats how a bunch of our less popular matchbox cars ended up after trying to recreate the spectacular car pileups from the tv show "CHIPS". i can still hear the themesong in my head!
5:42 yep GM product. the oval ones were for the doors/trunk/glovebox.
6:18 maybe a more decorative top to some kind of powder can like foot powder.
7:45 probably some kind of paste tube.
another great river adventure!
Thanks for bringing us along on this adventure Chigg!!
That was fun. I liked how you put a picture of the piece that you found, all
cleaned up, at the bottom, left side of the screen!
Glad you enjoyed it
Frog gig is too cool !!! The milk glass lid is from a spring seal, like a Grotsch Beer top. The slot is for the wire that goes across and holds the lid tight.
Had a GR8 time as always. That siren was hilarious..
Wow. 9th. Never been faster than high 20s before. But that doesn't matter. What does is another adventure with Beau and Mike. Thanks as I pause this to go get my beverage!
Loads of fun finds😀🙏thank you Beau
Any day out is an adventure, Thanks Chigg.
I think Mikes milk glass round thing is a lid and the cut across the top was for a wire swing type bale to hold the lid on.
Giggin with the Chigg
@4:50 It's a barn door pulley.
Could be. I was thinking a cable ferry pulley
I have a couple ideas for the household finds, I believe the lid with stars is the top to a sugar muffineer. The milk glass top with the line may be from a jar with a wire closure used for canning jam or fruit.
Thanks for the video!
My pleasure.
Aloha Chigg, Nice assortment of treasures. Mahalo for the relaxation and chemtrails! Hold your breath!
Appreciate you letting us tag an along. Amazing finds and nice sharing 😅
Awesome Adventure Chigg, nice gig spear tip also!! 👍🏻😎
Lots of fun and another great day ❤
You go chig!! Thanks!😊👍
It’s funny you mentioned getting an eel with that gig you found. The last time I was there we were trying to film an eel hiding under some brush. If you back there be sure to keep you eyes open for arrowheads.
Definitely a trap tag and the pulley is actually part of a rolling barn door, it’s the piece that attaches to the door and the roller rides on the track attached to the barn above the door so it can be pushed/slid open either to the left or right. Some people pay good money for some of those old barn door hardware items in good shape for the ornate castings for the wheels
Mike seems like a cool dude, I've seen him quite a few of your videos now. 15-20 years ago I spent a lot of money on a nice Whites metal detector, I let someone borrow it on a vacation to the beach, and we'll it was destroyed. I've been following you for a very long time now, I think you have motivated me to start saying for another nice metal detector, one that I will not let anyone borrow. Your enthusiasm is so infectious
Thanks Nathan. This Mike. Thanks for watching Chigg and me.
@gr8finds196 no problem. I just subbed to you. Thanks for bring us lots of entertainment and education! And for making me feel motivated to get out there and do it myself!
@@nathansmith1085thank you for that. Hope ya get out and do some searching. Hope to hear about the finds if ya do.
Nice adventure!
It's always a good day when the Chigg uploads
Sam Squich hollering at the sirens
Milk glass with slit. Think wire and bale jug/jar, maybe.
Another good hunt.
Fantastic video quality and content!
I think the partial find with the threads was an old dispener tube. Like toothpaste, but different.
Enjoyed watching. Thanks for sharing!
GREAT VIDEO , have a safe holiday
That item with the stars in it looked like a top to a glass candle or lantern top.
enjoyed the video
I’ll be emailing you for a CW permission. Ask Mike. 👍
That sign is great. my favorite find so far. I love hand forged metal. In the UK they would pitch that right back in the water.
Milk Glass lid is stylized to a large Aspirin. I reckon lid to a jar of Aspirins. Gr8 finds for both of you.
That pulley is a for a barn door track.
Cut groof plugs! 🙂 - - Pulley in a bracket at 4.50 - looks like a piece of railroad signalling kit, used to take the long wires to a semaphore signal round corners. - - lid with holes at 6.30 - off a pepper pot? - - threaded neck tube - toothpaste or ointment??
Barn door hanger, Chigg.
The logo on that lead bar looked like BASCO (B)riggs (A)nd (S)tratton (CO)rp. They also made ignition switches along with engines back in the day.
"What the heck is that, Mike?" haha I would be wondering the same.
Chigg is The Champagne of YoutTube.
Holy Cow! Just had lightening hit near me here in upstate, NY......(We all know Florida is the Lightning Capital of the World with more lightning strike there than anywhere on planet. When I lived there I met a guy who worked at Disney Perversion-World. He said that they "didn't get the giraffes inside in time." The result was one of the girraffes got hit by lightening. "His feet exploded like popcorn", he said.). Never forgot that.
Love your treasure hunting videos
That round milk glass thing with the slit through it. I just found one digging an old out house few days ago. Found about 30 bottles dating from 1850 to 1915 and one complete crock. No clue what that milk glass is though.
Chigg,we really miss you.Enough said
Good afternoon from Southeast South Dakota
Troll blimp....
Barn door pulley...
Yep, that's what I was going to say. Looks like the pulleys we used to unload the hay into the upper loft of our barn.
Hello everyone
That marlin cartridge is for a 25-36. Pretty rare find right there
That piece at 4:32 looks like the cover to a shaving razor sharpener. I've found a couple complete in the past. Been a minute, sure around here somewhere.
4:45 Barn style door casters ran on a track on the side of a building.
7:18 frog gig modern my dad used to have one of those in the 80s 8:04
Milk glass is a common lid, i find them all the time in old bottle dumps
The brass thing is copper grounding #4-2 Solid copper connection for grounding wire bare
Suzanne: Are these rivers and creeks near where you live?
How do u find those awesome spots like that man. Thanks for your hard work sir. God bless u man
That copper piece that’s slotted on both sides found at 6:45 is used to crimp crimp wire together we used them on the power company on copper ground wire.
Brass thingy. Steel cable on each side. Crush the brass to make a loop
Looks like a barn door roller.
The bronze item with writing on it appears to be some sort of wire cable guide, most likely for overhead power lines.
8th like
Thanks for the like!
@@aquachigger your welcome, maybe the ambulance was going to save a life, maybe
Nice hunt !! That piece with the round screw head is part to a vintage pewter cruet set :) It was the top of the base for the set. A piece would of gone between the base to hold the condiment glass. Then the handle would of had a hollow spot in the bottom to screw onto that base head :)
Yeah, Maine!
Enjoy your channel, thanks!
@@davestelling Thanks !!
The pulley is a garage door are barn door roller they ran on a rail mounted on to of the door. . My grandma had those on hers.
Not 100 % sure Chigg but the semi circle metal thing reminds me part of a mechanism that has a spring or catch on a car old car ash tray, the ones concealed in the panel and push them to spin and pop out. could be anything really
Did Chig just drop a Warriors reference??!!
At 3:07 it looks like it could be the piece of metal where a handle would connect to a pot or a pan.
06:45 for electrical wires, i can't remember the name of that one but it works like a C-tap
The pulley was for a barn or garage door that slid open.
Pulley item is what a barn door hangs from.
Hey that's my coin phrase... Can you dig it!!??
Aquachigger lmk if you're ever in Phoenix & bring your metal detector
around 6:40 ish into the video that looks like cable splice clamp to join two cables together I used them in telecommunications for power but those do not look like lead so I am guessing those being copper some similar metal would be for like a guide line of some sort again to splice or join two lines together.
4:32 google earth is your friend
*** *BEAU* Have you ever been able to detect the area of a Civil War battle @ Ball's Bluff (Virginia side) on the Potomac River? or Harrison's Island? From a Soldiers Journal - on the strip of land (Harrison's Island, Maryland) btw Ball's Bluff & Chesapeake & Ohio canal - largest murder in the Civil War, also includes the land directly across from Balls Bluff (Union Soldiers). I'm positive that you are aware of this area. I was just wondering if you were able to metal detect it at all & if you found anything. There is also a place now run by the Parks service that used to be a triage house for wounded soldiers. It was called Lock House 25. It was just around the bend in the river to the Southeast.
6:50 Is a Wier Shot. LOL Just Haveing Fun Playing In The Water.
Watch them beavers.
NOT GETTING RICH ON THOSE FINDS , BETTER LUCK NEXT TIME. 😮😊
@aquachigger You're super fast with the ❤️ too.
I usually have an idea when the video will go public.... ;)
Barn door pully
The pulley was off of a barn door.
Bedrock is good it could mean that you also may find some gold
Who needs a Troll Train when you got a Troll Fire Engine?!?!? (Note: I didn't comment on the Dick's blimp ... just saying).)
Gigitty
It's not a pulley, it's a barn door roller.
Your pulley is actually from a barn door or garage door it rides on a rail
Hey could or would u make a video about how you clean your finds, you said in previous videos that u let coins for example dry, to not ruin the detail, how exactly do you clean them when they're dry? Would love to see a video about it!
Greetings from a fellow metal detector from Germany
I did a video of that not long ago. th-cam.com/video/w7cfVkadI_A/w-d-xo.html
@@aquachigger awesome, thanks a lot!👍🏻
Garage door pulley
@4:55, sliding door pully..??..................
Never mind you said can you gig it
Come on chigg find some gold .nugget nugen got a gold coin the other day
That isn't a modern key you found. It is 1960s GM Trunk Key
I consider that modern. I'm old...lol.
@@aquachigger Love your channel
Copper piece looks like crimp
2:29 Never confuse this with Sport's House of Dick, it's a real pain in the ass getting out of that place.
