I'm fairly certain all of the entities are the same "species", as even the yellow symbol utilizes similar iconography and brush stroke widths in comparison to its red and purple brethren.

I believe that calamity is like a sidekick/ right hand man to void, always seen together, kinda like mk 1 and mk 2, always seen together in promotional art. And they both have their own branches of the army all together. Void has a smaller but a tad bit more powerful army while calamity uses numbers to overwhelm, and the howling may use an elite team of like 5, but much more powerful minions.
Also,endbringer might be a guardian for calamity,whenever void spawns,his gurdian will spawn with him,so why didnt calamitys guard spawned with him? Well,endbringer wasent apart of calamity fight during in endless,also tb nightmare is smth happened after endless,in tb nightmare voids first dialog says "cadet i sense ur defense are weak"it woulde be fitting consider in endless our defense are wrecked alot,fitting the timeline

But what about the howling? Considering it’s symbol involves the calamity symbol within an eye perhaps it represents the human consciousness or maybe death considering its namesake? Also wtf did the GDA do to piss off Hell, their own universe, Heaven and Death/Consciousness incarnate?
Another theory: Void is controlling Dr. Xeon since in wave 16 of nightmare states “Why bother? The GDA won't last long, we already spoke to her”. Meaning that the void could’ve controlled her when she was still working for the GDA and she was forced to attack the GDA. Just a theory tho
