      If nursing is really what you want to do, you will make it!! It’s hard for everyone! I promise! You are NOTTT dumb omg. Some programs are just easier to flunk out of than others. Many programs won’t fail you out. They just make you retake the class or redo the semester. And people flunk out/ fail classes or almost fail sooooo much more often than you think. It’s just that no one ever talks about it. Which is why videos like this is so cool. Baby girl, if nursing is what you wanna do, pray about it, pick yourself up, and try again. You’ve got so much life left

    Hey Girl Hey, I actually came across your video watching others and I’m here to say, I’ve been in college for SUPERRRR long (will be 26 this year). Struggled with finances that required me to take off a semester or two, anxiety, life happening etc.. but I really always aspired to be a NURSE. It’s been a long journey, but I am no where near done. I had to change my path and graduate (this May) with an A.S (as I was closer to the degree rather than getting accepted into a program)
    I’m just now getting started!! I always told myself , some things happen for a reason. Just never give your dream up.
    Continue to be great, YOU will become that nurse. Good luck with everything ♥️!!

    I’m 22 and i just failed out of nursing school. Now, I want to become a dental hygienist or radiologist tech

    • @kennynguyen6684
      @kennynguyen6684 3 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      I was lucky enough to sit through both schools: RN and dental hygiene. I received both degrees in both fields. One thing that I can tell you is Dental Hygiene school is far more competitive to get accepted than Nursing school. I have no clue about Radiology tech. If you want to enter Dental Hygiene, it is quiet competitive and seems impossible unless your GPA is anywhere higher than 3.5. My classmates are closed to 4.0 GPA. I understand that each school has different requirement and GPA. On top of that, Dental Hygiene is not easier than Nursing school. Dental Hygiene is more about skills and requirements on the number of patients you can complete in a semester/quarter. If you can't fulfill a certain number of patients they expect, they can fail you for that semester/quarter or not fulfil exam scores for passing. In contrast, Nursing school is more on knowledge that you can perform on exams.
      My advice is to find out what you want to do as a career. It is very important because you will be successful if you like what you are doing. I don't say Nursing school is easy, it is tough to get through. Good luck.

      @@kennynguyen6684 Im a dental assistant wanted to pursue hygiene. I realize since where I live i only had the option to apply to one program and they accept 15 students. I was stressing but now i came to the point I dont want to pursue hygiene anymore. I cant move up from hygiene and I dont want to be stuck cleaning teeth around 40 years old. Ive changed my major to rad tech since i love taking xrays while being a assistant. But youre totally right I didnt want to get into the program and cant find a patient.

    • @kennynguyen6684
      @kennynguyen6684 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@iamkeria9027 Each Dental Hygiene school is different. Some schools have plenty of patients to work. Others, you have to find your own patients. It is difficult to find patients because most people feel scare when they know students work on them. The level of anxiety is increasing when test score is near passing and lack of patients can give the student a heart attack. I hate dental hygiene school when the school can't guarantee the number of patients for the students. It will be nightmare for the students if they can't fulfill the number of patients for that quarter/semester.

      A lot students in the nursing program at my college change to radiology tech program because of how hard the nursing program is. Even students with 4.0's are having to quit the nursing program. I never joined or pursued the nursing program because I knew how difficult it was & the exams are, so many students have testified this. Instead I went straight into the radiology tech program!!! I'm glad I listened! (: after I graduate I plan to continue the 6 month courses to become MRI/CT certified. That's where the money is at!!!

    I like that you are not giving up, however my advice is that you seem to be having feeling of "accomplishment", which is something that can steal your drive. You ain't done with LPN yet, don't think is going to be easy. I'm in my third semester of ADN and I still make myself think like I know NOTHING, unless I put in 120% of effort, I will not pass. Wishing you all the best

  • @doylejodi7502

    I imagine it’s incredibly stressful. If you have weaknesses in any area on top of that; regardless of what they are, that compounds the overall struggle.
    It is an immense amount of information to comprehend, recall and be able to practice.
    Respect to you and anyone who has the drive and courage to go through nursing.
    You will figure it all out. You’re young. You’ll do great with whatever you do!
    Everything is a learning experience no matter how it plays out and a stepping stone to something greater.

    Didn't necessarily fail out, but decided to withdraw from one of my classes. The other one is up in the air because my professor hasn't graded an exam yet, but I get to keep one class if I'm lucky and none if I'm not.
    The classes that I'm in were specialty classes in nursing. I was doing fine in general education courses, didn't fail a single class. In my first semester of nursing, I got 3 A's and 1 B. But I got two C's in this semester, and in nursing school, C counts as failing-it doesn't get you the degree. Reason why my grades dropped is they started putting in "clinical reasoning questions"...Basically, here's a patient, what do you do. These questions you wouldn't know the answer to unless you've already worked healthcare for a substantial period of time. (Here, one might say "well then you didn't study", but in that case, why is everyone else in my class who doesn't have a ton of healthcare experience also failing, and when I asked my professors, then why did they say "idk lol you could've read the textbook harder I guess." I even had people berate me and say there were online resources out there to study for clinical reasoning questions that straight up DIDNT EXIST.)
    Reason why the state put it in is because they realized nurses with only an Associate's were killing their patients at a disproportionate rate.
    Anyway, I decided to withdraw one class so that the grade wouldn't be on my transcript and that the school's "clock" to put you on academic probation and eventually disqualify you wouldn't begin.
    I have never felt depressed in my whole life.
    FYI: grades are 77 in one class and 79 in another

  • @Citygal01

    A CNA is not a nurse.
    Nurses are considered LPN and RN.
    You got this! Just know that most LPN turn RN nurses say that LPN school is harder because it’s faster pace and it’s more focused on skills so just be prepared! Good luck!!

      Our LPN program is accelerated, but the RN is only 2 additional semesters. The scope of care is limited for the PN group, but everyone is equally as important as the other. Hearing the grade requirements for your program blew my mind because our school requires 80 and above, 79 and below is considered a D and deemed an automatic fail which really sucks when you meet other students who are phenomenal in clinical and with the actual skill concepts, but are kicked out if they're not strong testers per say. I've definitely had a rocky journey, but as long as you keep pushing yourself and refuse to accept failure then who cares how long it takes you! We all arrive at our destination when we're supposed to, no matter the route we decide to take! ❤
