I bought three. This man had created a movement, i want to support him and the pressure he’s putting on the industries necks. My mini was $150….if i can a years worth of wear out of it and use it 20 times…that’s 20/365 that’s $7.50 a wear…ITS WORTH IT! These yt brands charging way more for less. It’s travel friendly, on trend, washable during a pandemic, and as long as u not SCRAPING IT AGAINST THE CONCRETE OR PUTTING IT ON THE FLOOR, should last a long time.

I'm tired of y'all saying we can't complain about quality bc "we" buy Gucci and Chanel. Like first of all. I don't know not one black person personally who owns a Gucci or Chanel anything. Stop letting these social media flexers and influencer trick y'all into thinking the black population as a whole flocks to these expensive luxury brands..bc reality is probably 85% of us can not afford it. Now if I spend my little bit of money for a telfar bag and it's crumbling within a few months..why can I not just say that? Bc black influencers but Gucci and Chanel? I can criticize telfar the same way I criticize the quality of any purchase I make from anywhere. He markets his products towards black ppl yet we're supposed to shut up if its not useable within a few months? I don't get it. Also the fact that y'all want to make black owned brands above critiquing simply bc it's black owned? Okay let me gather my plastic grocery bags from slap my logo on it, tell that it's black owned and sell it for $200. Don't come for me bc it's black owned and Gucci and Chanel are doing it. No. Black people can speak on what we spend our money on. I'm tired of people using being black owned as some sort of shield.

I am a bag lover. I've bought brands from Coach, Dooney and Burke to Michael Kors, Kate Spade, Chanel, LongChamp, Louis Vuitton, Versace, Gucci, Marc Jacobs, Senreve, etc. I bought two Telfar bags during the bag security program last year in the black and dark olive colors. These bags stayed in my closet until last week. I usually switch bags on a regular but so much has been going on that I've been carrying the same bag for months on end. I finally broke out my black Telfar bag last week and I can understand the appeal of this bag. It is the ultimate city tote. I can list some negatives with this bag but I will keep it mute. I will support it.

Telfar bags look like something you can purchase from Rainbow or Gallo. I'm not paying $200 for a plastic bag that's not going to last. I am a bag lover. I'm 56 y.o and I have bags that cost from $25 to over $2,000. I have luxury bags and non-luxury bags. If I pay $25 for a bag, I know it' s not going to be around in 5-10 years. I have $200 leather bags and have had them for years. To me $200 is a lot to pay for a pleather bag; I don't care what color the designer is.

I agree with you we can't have these conversations in mixed company. But sometimes I feel like black is being used as a marketing tool especially when it comes to black women because we like to spend and we are loyal. It was like when beyonce did the press release saying she was the 1st black woman allowed to wear that stolen diamond were we supposed to be out in the streets celebrating? I like supporting black business but make sure you are not giving these people your last. One question tho do you bounce that bag like the people in the video😂😂😂😂😂

Bouncing the bag is the first order of business when owning a Telfar💅🏾
😆 but seriously, I definitely get what you’re saying… The Beyoncé thing was a really weird look. Especially when talking about Stan culture, we couldn’t even properly critique that without people feeling like we were coming for her directly. Black is definitely a marketing tool, I think with the rise of the Asian aesthetic, it’ll be interesting to see how black women specifically govern ourselves and our culture

So I own Chanel, Hermes, LV (my least favorite, that I only use to travel), and I wear them "daily". I have a bag that's over 40 years old, that has zero corner wear and looks brand new. However, I agree with you that we shouldn't compare these newer designer "black owned" brands to these seasoned brands.
I've recently added a few Brandon Blackwood bags to my collection and I just don't agree with comparing them. Yes, we should give the criticism to help the brand to evolve, just as we certainly give criticism to ultra luxury items like Chanel especially with the declining quality but increasing prices. However, I agree with supporting black owned brands to help them grow if we like the items. Telfa's designs aren't my preference right now, but if he adds a detachable strap and quality leather I might consider. Fast fashion is contributing to our global plastic crisis.

This is why I bought reps of the Telfar. I've seen all the vids and pics of people's telfars peeling, scratching, even threads starting to loosen. Absolutely not spending my hard earned money on a cheaply made bag, when I can get the exact cheaply made bag for $40. Smh, the hype is not worth the quality at all.

I agree with you wholeheartedly. Sadly, our people are the first to critically judge our own work. Knowing good and dang well we have limited resources. Smh My hope is that with all of the popularity, sales and media coverage that Telfar recieves he will be able to expand his company into something that is very long-lasting and reputable. Until then, I am proud to support this Black owned establishment. This era of Telfar will go down in history.

Between me and you, I’m burnt out already🤣 but I made a commitment to myself that I would really try to do a video every day this month.
The things that help are batching my scripts ahead of time, that way when I’m done with work or while I’m getting ready for work I can maybe shoot something. And I really try to shoot more than one video at a time. I’ve been really clear on my channel with everyone, that I am a real person so I don’t bother to change my clothes and pretend like it’s the next day.
I use an editing program that listens for silences and that helps with my speed as well.
I would say that the most difficulty I have right now is in figuring out what people will want to watch. So far I’m seeing in my analytics that when I talk about celebrities, people come running. This time is really shaping the type of Content I’ll do in the months forward.
Thank you so much for spending time with me✨✨

If I spend 150 or 1500 if it tears up with regular use I have a problem. Does the bag have a warranty like other brands? Other brands have vegan, canvas, and nylon but they can hold up if taken care of properly. However, they also have warranties when they break down with regular use. Soooo.... buy at your own risk and take care of it if you do purchase it.

Also, you're 100% right about vegan leather. One of my leather jackets is vegan. It's beautiful, and I noticed the other day that there are tears in it that aren't repairable because, as stated, the material is vegan leather (and it's dark blue).

I've been collecting handbags for over 20 years. The overall quality of designer handbags is on a serious decline because of demand driven by social media. There are several TH-camrs doing in-depth investigations into the quality of their brand new Chanel bags that are LITERALLY falling apart in the store while the sales associate is trying to sell them.
I want a Telfar but I can't get one new and I refuse to buy one preloved because they're selling for double and even triple on the resale market depending on the size and color. For being essentially $100 plastic bags they're a really good investment actually but I wouldn't expect them to be great quality pieces, especially if they're being worn daily.

I wish they would switch to mushroom, apple, cork, pineapple or cactus fiber alternatives. “Vegan leather” is actually more harmful to the environment because is made from PVC or PU, and the bags are lined with polyester. All of those materials are toxic to humans not only to wear but to produce. It is also not biodegradable. The bags are also made in China so regardless the people working in those factories are being exposed to those chemicals and even if they’re OK with that it’s still harming the environment. it’s unethical and unsustainable. I have a lot of admiration for Telfar and I love that as a black man he rose to such status and is respected properly. I just wish they cared more about the environment and their customers and demanded more quality and applied more ethical practices & sciences to the materials they use. people calling it his bag “cheap” are extremely petty and probably harbor racism In their hearts. However it’s dangerous to use the Materials that they are currently using to produce their bags and I hope that they make steps to change. The price of the bags is their business as well as their right. You are correct in saying people would pay for any other “name brand”. so price truly had nothing to do with the conversation in my opinion.
