The reason they couldn't get on many shows was because the big three had a lot of influence on Korean television shows, and these shows prioritized the groups that came from these three large companies (SM, JYP, and YG). The shows only wanted idol groups from these companies. These same companies saw that BTS had a lot of potential and became worried because BTS was getting a lot of attention from outside of Korea (international fans) and they saw them as a threat to the idol groups under their company. And fans of these other groups also saw BTS getting bigger, and started throwing a lot of hate towards members of BTS.
They still have...even though hybe is huge now they are still considered new money, the others (big 3) have more influence and connections (since they are old money) compared to hybe, that's why the media still side more with them
26:36 "Who wouldn't want BTS in a music show? " Well it was totally different back then, believe it or not. People looked down on them a lot. They've really worked hard from the beginning. BTS really paved the way for the present groups.
33:33 “ BTS FESTA” is the event, which celebrates the anniversary of BTS's debut. This last Festa, Jin hugged 1,000 fans (this happened 2 days later that he was discharged from military service.)
@@lara.alexandrina yeah you're right too, i guess i didn't really consider the difference in time zones. but it is just reasonable to count it in KST because the events happened it korea, no? and besides, we all know it happened on june 12th and 13th
Jungkook was not 18 when they did the concept trailer, that was his 16th birthday (1997-2013) when they pranked him, he was just a kid. It still amazes me his work and talent at that age.
5:01 Noo girl we love seeing you being so animated, i think within that animatedness(?) theres a lot of passion that shine thru within you whenever you're watching the boys.. there's genuineness in that as well. Don't let anyone's comment stop you or get to your head, just keep getting to know the boys while being your passionate self :)) (BTS would love your passion & animated-self too.. just saying hehe)
@@peachysaiyan You're just so sweet yourself.. i really can't stop smiling throughout while watching you react to the boys, we absolutely love to see you being you💜💜
33:33 their last fansign was in 2019, right before covid. One was also planned for their 2020 comeback, but we know what followed. Then military service and hiatus etc etc Jin hugged 1000 fans one day after coming back from the military :)) i think bangtan will always try to find ways to interact with us 💜
BTS members have held solo Fan meets to mark their solo releases and achievements And there’s no reason to suppose they won’t do OT7 Fan meets when they reunite in 2025… they’ve always said that their greatest joy is when they are together with army during performances or fan events….. 💜🇨🇦
1%: 1/100 Tablo of Epik High and Yoon Mirae with her husband Tiger JK are some of Korea's OG hip-hip artist.Tablo is Korean from Canada and graduated from Stanford. Yoon Mirae is Blasian. Her dad was stationed in Korea. Yoon Mirae is one of the two featured artists on J-Hope's track Neuron. Her English name is Natasha Shanta Reid. And you can hear her dad on her track Black Happiness. The Afterschool Club is a Korean show which is available on YT. It's easy to find with the name of the show plus BTS. RM got hate for not having the face of an idol (in some ppl's eyes) and he later references this in one of their songs. Big Bang is second gen. Jimin has a collab with Taeyang of Big Bang. Jin wanted to hug 3,000 fans at Festa (the anniversary event) and after negotiating with the company settled on 1,000. Except for one fan who overstepped everybody was well behaved. And we got to hear the extended version of Super Tuna which will be released after Jimin's promo period is over. The hat trick in Bulletproof Pt. 2 was Jimin's idea.
The secret of them getting massive fans is them uploading their videos which is not even edited...the company let them upload whatever activities they have..and that other IDOLS cnt do that..BAANGTAN has the freedom and since day one they are goofy bunch of guys who merely love to perform❤
That’s one of several reasons that ARMY says BTS paved the way. They were doing vlogs almost every day just talking about their albums, sharing their emotions and daily activities. Later on, RM or Suga would talk about the back story and inspirations for each song on their newly released albums. No other group was doing it like that or often not at all. Now it’s almost a must for k-pop groups, but they still don’t have the freedom that BTS was given.
Yep they were the ones who first started thes etypes of free content in both TH-cam and other social media platforms....now every group does that and fans thinkt hat ha saleays been a thing when it wasn't...and opposed to yhe other groups who are doing it as part of yhr conoany strategy, bts did it because they didn't have any other way of promoting themsleves since variety shows and tv wouldn't invite them so they juat organically thought of this to stay connected with their fans and it was just filmed using their manager's phone
@@peachysaiyan yes thats why i love them you can see always their real personas and feelings even they did something awkward , they are not shy to show emotions even they are happy, sad, shy or angry
I know, it’s sort of frustrating because the series is SOO GOOD! I hope she sees the messages asking her to also watch the deleted and bonus scenes videos because there is a lot of good stuff in them.
@@peachysaiyan i am glad ur enjoying the ride. If u end up reading BTS 10th anniversary book u will get a vastly different story as told by the members. It's kinda wild.
Honestly it is better than any of the professional ones I’ve seen. It really should be on Netflix or equivalent and they should be paid for it. It’s that good IMO.
So part of what you are missing by not watching the Deleted Scenes is JHope looking at their web page with only 889 subscribers, the members participating in an online challenge, Suga and RM trolling each other while trying to vlog. Seriously please watch the Deleted Scenes (starts chapter 1) and Bonus Content (starts chapter 3). The Deleted Scenes were things that were removed due to the length of the video or didn't fit the narrative. The Bonus Content is them being their crackhead selves and will have you laughing - which in later episodes is needed greatly after making you cry your eyes out. Also - Jin came out of the military and immediately did a fan event and insisted on hugging 1000 ARMYS. Despite solo's and whack jobs (that you can find anywhere), ARMY's are the most respectful and considerate fandom to ever exist. BTS can and do trust ARMY to treat them with respect and ARMY trust BTS to do the same. It's a mutual thing that really can't be found anywhere else no matter where your from.
@@Imme_begin I've read all the comments from chapter 1 and they were definitely mentioned and asked for. I felt if I said some of what she was missing - she might feel more inclined to watch them. If not - she is definitely gonna miss out on 'GOOD CAMERA' and BTS 'It's Tricky' choreo.
In the Korean age system they are considered 1 year old at birth and turn another year older on Jan 1. For example..V was born Dec 30/95...he was considered 1 that day. On Jan 1/96 (2 days later), he went up another year (as does the whole country)...even though he was only 2 days old he was considered a 2 year old. For the most part you can subtract 2 years from the ages they say in this series. They were straight up young! JK was 13 when he left home for good. I believe Korea has adapted to the global age system recently. You asked if they could ever do a fansign again...when Jin recently returned from completing his military sercice his wish was to set up an event where he hugged 1,000 ARMY...and he did it! Did they have personal masseuses? Heck no..they barely had money to eat, but fans would chip in and buy them groceries at times and even bought them a massage chair in their early days. You said the end leaves you wanting more...that's what the bonus content and deleted scenes are for! lol. PS.... I am from Ontario too...but I just moved to Spain. Spain has provinces too!
34:12 As some other ARMYs have commented BTS still find ways to get close to ARMYs. As recently as 13 June 2024, the day after Jin was released from his military service, he hugged 1000 ARMYs before doing a mini concert for them. There is some footage of this on BTS’s TH-cam channel BANGTANTV. I’m always proud to be ARMY but I was super proud that day. Jin didn’t have to do that. In fact Hybe didn’t want him to due to safety concerns but Jin insisted. He felt so grateful that ARMYs had waited 18 months for him to return so he wanted to hug them as thanks. The sweetest part was when he had hugged all 1000 he was so disappointed- he wanted to hug another 2000! In 2023 as part of his solo album Layover V went on a Korean reality show (Dingo Story - available on TH-cam) where they make people’s dreams come true. He got to spend a day with a lucky ARMY. It wasn’t just her dream, he had the same dream to hang out with ARMY for a day. All of the BTS members chose to do both massive events and some smaller more intimate ones during their solo promotions. For example RM had a concert in a small club for just 200 lucky ARMYs, Suga & Jimin did video calls with several hundred ARMYs. During a tv show he did, j-hope sat in the audience at one part (it was super cute when he made eye contact with the ARMY sitting next to him). And the list goes on and on. So whilst you are absolutely right BTS are so famous now that they can’t do fan signs like they used to, but the BTS members will always find ways to connect with ARMY
You left out JK and Suga. JK gave a free concert as a gift for ARMY and FaceTimed with some ARMY.and Suga did some meet and greets, I think. I remember him talking to JK about it on Suchwita.
@@Imme_begin you’re absolutely right, there are many more instances than what I listed. We are truly the luckiest and most loved fandom (by our artists at least!)
Rewatching these make's me remind myself how natural and genuine the member's are back then and how humble they were, I've never felt this with other group's, I've seen you've seen Stray Kid's and I tried getting into them year's ago but never felt the music like with BTS, I mean when I look at BTS they were 7 Boy's from different area's of South Korea that were very very limited to resource's, especially with the bankruptcy their, for me I tried getting into a lot of group's but couldn't, I alway's felt unloyal and stanning more than 1 bg and more than 1 gg felt wrong, why I stan only BTS and Lesserafim, other than BTS I listen to indie singer's that are not Kpop related, I got into BTS in mid 2014 and over those year's never found anyone else for me to stan, nobody else was authentic enough or relateble enough, their music is perfect for me, this is just me tho 💜
For me BTS softness and lyrics brought me in, weren't based on look's or anything like that, as I mentioned above I couldn't favor any other group's until Lesserafim predebut in 2022, they felt authentic and natural for me too like they genuinely like each other, BTS got where they are today bcos of their separation from the Idol industry, they were pretty much out casted in the industry, and that is one reason I couldn't stan group's like Stray Kid's bcos they formed on a show and had a big company to debut in, they didn't have as much issue's and have to worry as much as BTS did, tho I do like Levanter by Stray Kid's, but for me they weren't it, it was bcos of BTS we are able to buy kpop album's in the US and so on, they've opened a lot of door's which many have take advantage of
its the same for me, but mostly i just cant stan a group with bad music and thats what it is for that group. bts with their lyrics and melodies, theyre more than just a visual group.
53:02 I’ve been ARMY since August 2020. Like you said, being able to watch so much of BTS’s journey in such detail thanks to their habit of documenting it all has really helped me (and I’m sure lots of others too) feel (almost) like we were there cheering them on from the beginning. The maker of The Rise of Bangtan is a fan who just happens to be a professional editor (lucky us!) As for a fave BTS track, with a 300+ song discography where there are basically no skips it’s hard to narrow down a Top Ten let alone just one. So instead I have 1-2 faves per album. You’re doing their debut album at the moment. My faves off that album don’t have MVs but are Like and Cypher Circle. Like has a more pop/hip hop/ R&B feel to it than No More Dream and We Are Bulletproof part 2. The vocalists feature more too. The charm of the song is that it isn’t your standard love song. Instead you get RM’s, Suga and j-hope’s take on the exact same situation. The 3 rap about seeing an ex love post on social media. Will they ‘Like’ the post? Listen to the song to find out how each of them would respond. I’ll come back with a link for you to a live performance from around this time. Ok from later on (2017) but this version has subtitles and BTS are super flirty th-cam.com/video/1A5pCnk9mp4/w-d-xo.htmlsi=mDe_w5v4c4ByVC7J The other is the Cypher Circle Room. This is the most fun Cypher (the boys will do 4 more serious ones in subsequent albums) with a very lighthearted approach. Best of all - all 7 BTS members rap in this (always hilarious when they switch roles). Best to watch a lyric video. I’ll come back with a link to this too. th-cam.com/video/oAh1W8MgF84/w-d-xo.htmlsi=lnX3iPHe4noJsNQx
The After School Club (ASC) is a long running live tv show in Korea that features lots of kpop artists. It’s in English and aimed at an international audience. It was hosted for a long time by Eric Nam, who grew up and now lives in Atlanta. He’s older than he looks. BTS was on it several times, and the shows are fun. You probably can’t watch the episodes on TH-cam (most tv shows, from whatever country, are copyrighted). If you want to see young BTS, however, those shows are a good way. Also, please watch the deleted and bonus scenes from TROB. You will love them.
This is a great series! Aneesa (the creator of The Rise of Bangtan) shared that she has been working on this series (her labor of love) for over 3 years! She is taking viewer on a journey step-by-step from BTS' perspective not looking back on their days but living through them (with them). She edits their content to allow BTS to speak their thoughts, through their experiences at the time because BTS has been documenting themselves since BEFORE their debut, so there is A LOT of material to edit down to tell their story! She also gives an overview of the KPop history for those who are not familiar with the industry. She uses clips from different video clips of other idols/ journalists interviews to try to give a broader perspective of the industry. Her skill as a professional video editor really shines through. Amazing work! I think many ARMY really like this series (besides it being extremely well made), she doesn't try to interpret what "she thinks" BTS is trying to say, she just shows the viewers exactly what they said and shared about what their thoughts were at the time. She is an "OG" KPop fan and BTS fan since pre-debut! She also shared that BTS has been the light in her darkness for many years now. *(Cr: "FY" on yt)* I think it's important to notice the differences between BTS' worries and the other trainees worries. BTS' were worried about their own personal skills (not dancing well enough, song worries, etc), about not getting attention when they debut due to their small company, not having money, etc. While the other trainees seem to be living in fear of being cut from the company at any moment if they make one mistake, worrying about weight quotas, etc. BTS stayed until late hours because they WANTED to, while the other trainees HAD to. Obviously BTS had things they had to do too, they could've not made it to debut as Jimin almost did due to short training, but instead of using that as a fear to hold over them Bighit seemed to use it to encourage them to work harder and improve themselves. BTS were allowed to make mistakes without worrying they'd be thrown out of the company. I'm very glad that they all signed with Bighit, and that Bighit has caused a shift in the Kpop industry, lots of newer companies are giving their groups more freedom and treating them better due to BTS' success. These companies see that idols don't need to be punished and forced to do things in order to succeed, BTS are proof that freedom and happiness should be the most important thing. *(Cr: "Shannon" on yt)* Now plz understand this 1st & 2nd episode shows two sides, one is typical k-pop system and how the labels/industry work, whereas subtle hints of BTS and bighit being contradictory different is shown, BTS is different from other K-pop groups and BigHit is different from other idol music companies. These first few episodes can be misleading because it makes you think BTS management follows these guidelines the other idol members from other companies are talking about, but BTS and BigHit don't do those things. Notice how when it is said idols don't have a lot of creative freedom, you see Namjoon and Yoongi writing lyrics, or when it says idols have phone bans or something, you see the BTS members on their phones, or how when idols say they aren't allowed to go outside the dorm, you see Yoongi walking around freely. It can be a confusing thing for new ARMY to make note of, but PLEASE notice these differences. It is vital to how BigHit runs differently, and therefore why BTS is so different from other idol groups from the very start. *(Cr: "Kayla Kulik" on yt)*
Please don't forget to do the deleted scenes for each chapter... they include extra info that they couldn't fit into the episode that help fill out the story for you. The deleted scenes start from episode 1... and then you also get the bonus footage each chapter from chapter 3 ( these are funny clips of BTS being... BTS 😂) The guy at the beginning was Tablo a member of Epic High... they were the first group that really influenced Suga. Suga actually interviewed Tablo in his talk show Suchwita ( great interview) Tiger JK is great!! Nice person and great musician. Also, I love your bouncy personality I hope you have a wonderful day.💜
BTS always focused more on building a very strong core fanbase rather then running behind industry higher ups and sucking up to them like most companies want their idols to do and that fact has shown its power in the long run. Most male idol groups start their downhill career curve (relevence and success wise) during the enlistment era but that has been opposite in case of BTS, they have attracted more fans and success by deviding and conquering through their solo careers. They truly wrote their stories from scratch, didn't follow industry rules since day 1, were 100% involved in planning their own career, and i think that really set them apart. That is why they were and still are a threat to industry standards.
Hi, it was so sad for Tae (V) when he stood in the corner of the room when the other member were filming the group vlogs. But (I think) in their Book "Beyond the Story", Tae said, the time he was the hidden member (maybe a year), he feared that it's possible that he will not be in the group. He thought Big Hit was not sure if they want him. That is so sad. When I read that in the book my eyes became wet. I am german, 59 and Army since Dynamite. Tae is my Ulti Bias. I love his music the most. "Singularity" (you must watch the Stage Mix from "Brilliant"), "Snow Flower", "Christmas Tree", "Fri(end)s", "Wherever U R", and his Solo Album songs "Slow Dancing", "For Us", "Love me again", "Rainy Days" 😍😍😍. Choose a favorite BTS song is impossible. I like their japanese songs very much. "Crystal Snow", "Let go", "For you", "Film out"... My favorite BTS song for a long time was "I like it pt2". These songs I love very much too: "Blue & Grey", "134340", "Best of me", "So What", "NO", "Not Today", "Idol", "Mic Drop", "We are Bulletproof: The Eternal", "Mikrokosmos", "Answer: Love Myself", "Just one day" (you must watch the dance practice video, it's so funny. Tae can't stop laughing) But when I only can choose one BTS song, then I think I take "Butter" (or maybe "Bulletproof Eternal" ?) Another thing are the videos, MVs. They have some amazing videos, but the songs are not my favorites. "Blood, Sweat & Tears" best MV, but only hearing is not in my list of best songs. Also "Black Swan" and "ON" (both ON MVs), great MVs.
just started following your bts journey the past few days and have had so much fun watching you! my husband overheard one of the videos yesterday and had to come peek at you bc he thought you sounded just like someone i would hang out with (and then was like "not to mention her makeup" LMAO), and purr so true. anyways i had to stop to leave this comment when you clocked the tea around 17-18 min bc IM DYINGHGIDHGIDH hahahaha i hope you continue the rise of bangtan series!

Please don’t be self-conscious. Yeah, you’re kind of a lot (😆) but NEVER stop being yourself. I’ll admit that I gave you a bit of side-eye in the beginning, wondering if your excitement was played up for the camera but it didn’t take long to realize you’re just bubbly as f**k. lol. Keep being you, but turn up the video’s volume a wee bit more, please. Spare a thought for us geriatric ARMY. 😂

Helpful hint for the guide: Korean Age vs International Age - difference is 1-2 years depending on if their birthday has been.... In most older videos, including this guide, they are giving Korean ages so you will need to adjust. The members were only 13-18 years old when they joined BTS and 15-20 yo when they debuted. In Korea when you are born you are considered 1 year old. Then on lunar newyear every year you add another year to your age, no matter what your birthdate is. .... Year of birth - International age at Debut on 13June13 Jin 1992 - 20 yo Suga 1993- 20 yo Suga started with MIDI at 11 JHope 1994 - 19 yo JHope started dancing at 8 RM 1994 - 18 yo RM started rapping at 11 and was well known in the underground scene at 13 Jimin 1995 - 17 yo V 1995 - 17 yo JK 1997 - 15 yo he signed with big hit at 13 Rule of thumb - if it's before their birthday - subtract 2 years to get international age. if it's after their birthday - subtract 1 year to get their international age. The Korean Government has recently (June28 last year) brought in international age as the standard in Korea, but all older videos/ interviews/ shows, will be referencing Korean age. 💜Have a great day Sending Greetings from Australia💜 52yo ARMY since 2016.
Answering your last questions: I was first technically introduced to BTS in 2015 by my cousin, who loved kpop, but I didn't really get into them until I rediscovered them in 2016. The track that made me ARMY was Danger (specifically, the dance practice video) and Awake (particularly, the lyrics and short film). But my go-to song recs are Baepsae (Silver Spoon), Paradise, and Dis-ease.
South Korea, and most other countries, have provinces. Most members of BTS come from different provinces hours away from Seoul, their capital city. Only Jin and RM come from cities near Seoul.
Jin had an Event the day after his discharge from the military, he gave hugs to 1000 Armys, and later that day he met Armys to sing for them and play some games . that shows once more how deep BTS love for us armys is
so the creator of this series actually said that she wasn't going to finish it. Mostly because of her job. When she started this series it was meant to be for her family and friends. She didn't expect it to be as big as it got. She started working on this during covid when she had time on her hands and when she went back to work it became too stressful for her. She actually deleted her channel and someone re-uploaded the series. But i love this series and the hard work she has put into it. Also, the fact the she has been ARMY since the beginning in 2013 was awesome too. When they were filming American Hustle Life she was one of the people in line to see the concert that BTS did for 200 people and she barely missed the cut to go in. Anyway, she is awesome and her name is Anessa (She works for Disney and is a professional editor which is why the edits of this series was so good).
@@vmkoya4080 she actually gave the series to another army to re upload. many army close to her talked to her for months about her fast change of heart. Many army love this series and wanted to watch it.
when it count their birthday you need to remember that 1 Januar and birthday is on 30 december, in west we say that on 1 Janua he is two days old, but in Korea he is 2 years old, yes but the fans, when Jimin talking about school and the reaction after their debut, he went to a performance art school and its like every day something happens, that why he got a flat reaction
😊 hello fellow Ontarian. BTS performed in Hamilton back in 2018 and I took the overnight bus from Toronto just to get in line for the merchandise tables. I was still late as the t-shirts sold out by the time I got to the register. Hopefully the next concert in Canada will be in Toronto so I can get a head start 😢
@peachysaiyan He was fired for a different reason. I'm actually not even sure if it was this specific manager who was fired, I just know there was a manager fired for mistreating Jungkook. Fans noticed him threatening to hit JK in the background of a behind the scenes video and created a lot of noise until he was removed.
I've been army since October of 2020, wow, I can't believe it's coming to be 4 years! It's so hard to choose a favorite song 🥲🥲🥲 but probably Telepathy 🥰
I've been army since 2018, and actually, its my armyversary month!!! 6 years! It's been 3 months since you uploaded this, so I hope someone's told you that there's also deleted scenes and extras for these episodes!
So V was born December 30, 1995. That day he was born, he was considered 1 year old, then 2 days later on January 1, 1996, He turned a year older. So for Global Age V was 2 days old, but in Korean Age, he was 2 years old. 1 at birth, and 1 on the first of the year. So I believe he would be 17 Global Age, and 18 Korean age, Then on the first of the year in 2014, he is 19 Korean age, but is 17 Global age until his birthdate on December 30, then he was 18. Does that make sense? Anyway, it's changed now in Korea to the Global age. Also, Jungkook was 15 or 16 in this video, Global age. For the music shows, they don't audition. Their labels will set up a performance, and usually the labels with the most power in the industry get first pick of the slots. That's how they kept BTS from a lot of shows, and got their performances cut. Their agency didn't have the power to influence the stations. The Big 3 companies had all the power, and still do to a certain extent. The big 3 companies are (SM, YG, and JYP). HYBE is the biggest as far as numbers and money, but the Big 3 still control the media and the TV shows. Yes they do still have fansign events, and meet and greets. Not the same as then, but the day after JIN got out of the military, he had a "light hug" event with ARMY's. He literally gave a hug to 1,000 Lucky ARMY's. And the online fan events are a thing. JIMIN and SUGA did those. So it's still possible. For the hug event, ARMY's overall were very respectful, and didn't overdo anything, but there were two fans who overstepped. One that kissed his neck, and one that rubbed her cheek against his. He stopped the event and asked ARMY to not attack him. They respected his wishes and it went fine after that. You should check out the video about how ARMY changed fandom culture. I can link that one if you are intersted. JIMIN and V both had fan events also, and it went well with no problems. Small events, and they played games with ARMY and got up close to them. How the BTS ARMY changed fandom culture - by Boracity Magazine - th-cam.com/video/R9oLOq7E92M/w-d-xo.htmlsi=dcpW3pquxa0nLJVw
Kinda baby ARMY here too. I started noticing them and enjoying them late 2022, I accidentally watched the Lachimolala (run BTS episode) reels and never moved on, til I saw their Run BTS dance practice and saw jhope's More (from Jack in the box). I didn't notice that I got sucked in the rabbit hole. hahaha. It's hard to choose for a fave track coz there's tons but I marinated myself and cried for sometime with Springday :D
Same here girl. I held my tears not to fall down bcoz I was so freaking annoyed from the scene when the manager yelled at Jk and slammed the door😮! Honestly, I’d cursed that accomplice manager so many times in my mind really. Even though it was only a pranks to make his birthday memorable, still he was feeling down like a fool and bullied😂 Poor baby Jungkookie ❤
I love you reaction 😭❤️ the prank on jungkookie made me cry too lmao You should react to the song N.O before watching the next ep so you don’t get many spoilers ❤️
I think watching their music in order is a great idea, however, if you only watch music videos you are going to miss a lot of depth and variety. Thank for another fun reaction!
You say you are loving watching their journey. Well us Army's are loving watching yours.💜 I've been Army since 2014 when I watched their danger video. I fell hard for bangtan. They was different than anyone I had ever seen. Thank God for my k diamonds at that time translating for us international army. My favorite all time songs are so many. But the 3 is magic shop, Louder than Bombs and we are bulletproof the eternal.
Actually recently Jin held event where he hugged 1000 army's . Army are really considerate when it comes to BTS safety. Even when in public if they see BTS they pretend not to know as don't want to disturb them in personal time
25:25 Abt their rise in popularity: bc this is smt that gets confused and distorted in current perspectives, I rec checking out an article on the medium site titled, The BTS Era Before 2016, which does a good breakdown on how popular (as much as you can statistically measure) BTS were getting from their debut in 2013 to 2016 in various regions (with specific focus on SK, US, Japan, UK--the last being the 3 largest music markets in the world--and World charts). In case of the article being a tl;dr: From my interpretation, BTS did reasonably okay for their status as new artists from a relatively smaller label for their 1st and 2nd albums, which were released in their debut year and marketed to SK markets (with having

on they could never do fan signs again...Jin literally the day after he came home from the military held an event where he hugged 1000 Armys and then performed for them lol. He said he went back and forth with the company, he originally wanted to give out hugs for a month straight to hug as many Army as possible lol.

@brayonne1755 said on 7/20/23 Hey! ok so a couple things that aren't mentioned in the video that I found interesting when i learned about them: 1- the clip where Bang PD mentions they clear all other schedules when they're preparing for a comeback, that's actually a big deal because the company was struggling at that time and the guys all used to work side jobs to make revenue for the company. I don't mean like Suga being a scooter delivery guy, you can find the members in videos, promotions and commercials from back then as extras or back up dancers and singers etc. Not doing any of that for weeks would likely put a dent in the company's working budget for sure. 2- the reason Jin was upset after the run-through for the debut was apparently because his pants came down as he was dancing. I'd have probably died, especially as the eldest hyung poor guy! 3- that group EXO, apparently, I repeat APPARENTLY, their fans are the planners of a black ocean during a BTS performance. This is when during a performance the audience turns off their light sticks so the performers will just see darkness. It seriously breaks my soul that anyone would do this, that anyone would THINK of doing this. And there's no doubting that this kind of thing has to be planned, thousands of people don't just turn out their bulbs at a specific moment without planning. This has happened to a few groups in Kpop and is traumatizing enough that BTS portrayed one in their video for Bulletproof the Eternal. In xCeleste's (the queen of all armys!) hardships video she shows Twitter trends of "breakwingstour", "kickoutjhope" etc. Some say it's just specific fans saving their batteries for their specific artist but give me a break, being extra batteries! I don't get people's cruelty. 4- I'm glad you mentioned Kanye and Black Skinhead - I think THIS is probably the biggest thing that got them virulently hated back then, at least by underground hip-hop guys. I tried to dig as much as I was able about this and apparently, that radio interview (and keep in mind the idea of this interview was to celebrate BTS' one year anniversary!) where the jerkoff (rapper named B-Free) calls them girls for wearing makeup as idols, this interview was after that concept trailer thing (on the Kanye song, you saw a clip where they rip off their black shirts and are suddenly in white - by the way there are hilarious clips of a performance where JK and RM ripped too hard and ended up no zero shirt 🤣😍). The disgust was based on RM having re-recorded the song. They used the track, removed Kanye, and RM rapped it with exactly the same flow, if I remember right he did it in Korean. For the hip hop community this was outright blatant theft, you don't "steal" another rapper's flow. What those guys didn't know: BTS had spent an absolutely insane amount of energy on this comeback performance, it was a very big deal, they had been told there were no legal issues for them to use the song, but at the last second the **broadcasters** said they couldn't use the song, I'm assuming this is because they would have had to pay some sort of royalty to Kanye and weren't willing. It was too late at this point for BigHit to come up with an alternative which would have meant new choreo and all the rehearsals that come with that so they decided to redo the vocals, this way they could go ahead and use the song. Of course for the sake of the choreography the vocals had to match the original track so RM imitated Kanye. Apparently he knew and understood this wasn't a good move but there was just no choice anymore, there was too much invested in that performance, they couldn't not do it. Annnnnd... BACKLASH. I think it started with the hip hop crowd but this followed them for years considering "Plagiarism Boy Scouts" trended on Twitter on a few occasions, the suspicion stuck. I saw RM refer to it as his dark past. The good news is B-Free is currently in jail, or was. He even tried to apologize 6 years later, army told him to shove it. @cola5473 8/11/23 Fun facts: Jimin said that he most admired Taeyang and he influenced him to become a singer. Last year he got to do a collaboration with him called VIBE. Good video and there is a live performance too. Taeyang was one of SUGA's first guests on Suchwita. He is a solo artist now but was part of the k-pop group BigBang. They were one of the top groups but have since broken up. Also, Jungkook's life motto is one of the first tattoos that he got on his arm 4 or 5 years after he first said it.
And here I was worried because my daughter knew what she wanted to do before she was even 18yrs. I felt she had plenty of time and I just wanted her to enjoy her youth
They haven’t had a fan sign for ages now but when Jin returned from the military, he did this part of festa on his own the day after. Bighit had a raffle and 1000 ARMY were selected to go to a special fan meet where Jin hugged 1,000 people on stage and then more people where allowed in and he did a performance for them. He missed ARMY so much that he just wanted something special for us. Bighit was against it but Jin insisted and as usual with Jin he got his way. Festa is a celebration (debut date) that lasts from the first of June to the 13 th June where BTS plan exciting thing and releases for ARMY.
I think theres a clip in the deleted scenes for this ep (or maybe the next one?) where j-hope goes on their fancafe and says how many fans were following them on there and it was a pretty small number at the time! less than 1000.
im glad you liked this series its a very good series , i hope that you finish it up to the last chapter , plys there's also the deleted scenes and bonus scenes , im just a baby army too for 2 years though i've known bts eversince , my favorite songs of them are MAGIC SHOP, BULLETPROOF ETERNAL and LET GO , hope you find time to react to these songs borahae 💜💜💜
Baby army for TWO years?!? I feel like at that point you are full ARMY, no? HEHEH I will definitely make time to react to those songs, thank you so much! 💜💜
I’ve been an army since 2021 and my favorite song changes all the time but magic shop tends to stay at the top most of the time. If you react to it there is no mv so watch a live performance. It is a really special song💜💜
Hi, I am back. Good reaction, ty. So glad u are continuing this series. Aneesa the creator of this docu series is an editor. It took her 4 yrs of research to create 20 plus chapters. Many army don't want this series to end. Aneesa has to do more research to tell the rest of BTS story. She sadly does not to do that no more. Loved seeing Army do the chants before there were official chants. =0p Loved hearing that army was asking when is their debut on Google. haha fun! Ur a little off. One Direction was created via a reality TV show. These groups have to compete on shows to win so they get sponsored and make money and can stay. If they don't win the groups can't find fans and stay. That was the old way. And it's still present but the rules have changed somewhat. And BTS showed all small companies that there are other options to find fans. Nope sorry JK is a perfectionist like Jimin. So he still feels he is lacking and he needs to work more. If u watch his Suchita interview with Suga u will see. Yes, South Korea has many provinces. They mentioned it in ep. 1 that each member came to the capital from different provinces. Jk & Jimin are from Busan. Suga and Tae are from Daegu. Each member has their own dialect and so they had to learn how to speak the way u do in Seoul. They have a song about this. Well actually Jin just hugged 1000 armies in June so it can be done. Not saying the others will do the same. But Jin really wanted to hug army. He hugged and shoock hands for an hour after he became a citizen again. There are clips on Insta and TikTok. I think we have vids on this from BangtanTV. The age thing is 2 yrs. U have to minus 2 yrs from what they say. They were known as monster rookies from the get go. =0} Umm, Jk was only 15yo in 2013. lol. Excited to hear your thought on ch.3. Pls watch deleted scene and bonus content too. The bonus I think start on ch.3. But each chap has deleted scenes. So glad u liked this. i am 5 yrs. in this purple world. Your Eyes Tell is my fav song. It's a Japanese OST for a Jdrama. Stay Alive by JK producer Suga is my 2nd fav song. Also, an OST for their 7 Fates Chakho webtoon. Hugs. Later's. -NY USA 2019 Army💟 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💟 Aishwarya Ahirrao ⟭⟬ ⟬⟭ said on 7/23/22 This is a great series! (Cr: "FY" on yt) nafnaf said on 4/2/22 There's literally a word for "You worked hard" that Koreans say, "수고하셨습니다" (sugohaseupnida). It's a part of their culture. Mint said on 4/2/22 Yup. It’s kinda the equivalent “bon appetit” before a meal or telling someone “break a leg”. 열심히 하겠습니다 (I will work hard) as a greeting & 수고하셨습니다 (you worked hard) as the parting. A person might introduce themselves as “so and so from ___university, degree in x, I’ll work hard!” in everyday situations like new hire, or when you show up to volunteering, or even personal hobbies like meeting new members of your dance crew. Now i know that u know this, but this is for a lil background info and things to be notice in first two chapters for your wife to read & know 😊 I think it's important to notice the differences between BTS' worries and the other trainees worries. (Cr: "Shannon" on yt) Now plz understand this 1st episode shows two sides, one is typical k-pop system and how the labels/industry work, whereas subtle hints of BTS and bighit being contradictory different is shown, BTS is different from other K-pop groups and BigHit is different from other idol music companies. (Cr: "Kayla Kulik" on yt)
Really enjoying your reactions!! I just paused the vid to pop in and say as far as EXO goes, I could be wrong, but I don't think there has ever been any kind of conflict between the members of EXO and members of BTS themselves. Some of them might even be friends. It's really in the fandoms where things got ugly, and the two groups were seen as "rivals" for a time. I wasn't there back then so this is just what I've gathered but I wanted to point out that I don't think EXO themselves ever did anything shady!
Same, from what I understand it all comes from the Fandoms and the companys. But BTS has also said back in the beginning a lot of groups would not even talk to them. But nowadays the maknea line is friends with a lot of other idols, from many different groups.
On a side note I'm so happy they fired that mean ass manager everybody else might have been joking but he sure wasn't acting! Honestly I'm surprised he was still able to walk away after what he after how he treated Jungkook back then that were Jungkook now he never would've have even thought to threaten him!
Well now that JK is older and has learned to speak up, he would say something now. Besides my guy doesn't even listen to the company rules most of the time now...haha That kind of behaviour would not fly now. One of the things i remember was when they were outside during one of their events and it was cool. Jin noticed JK was cold and gave him a blanket and the manager at the time came up behind JK and took away the blanket. LIke WTH? it was freezing. I'm just glad he is not with them anymore.
I always look forward to your reactions.. The JK birthday prank always got me crying and laughing. I really love your reactions, I love that you are animated and a little loud 😂 See you in the next chapter!
There is a longer version of Jungkook's birthday where he cried. It got intense for a while. LOL I personally thought that was a bit mean but they probably didn't expect him to cry like that hehe they're all adorable when they were younger.. you'd just want to give them a warm hug or a gentle pat on the shoulder because you know that they needed it so badly at that time. Keep going with the reactions! :D And like I said in my previous comment to another video, I love your energy. Keep it up! :)
The two groups that were censored were EXO and BIGBANG but mostly EXO, I think. Exo-ls were particularly nasty toward BTS and ARMY. But we hold no grudges against those groups because they aren't at fault. Some members actually are friends or at least on good terms. BIGBANG's Taeyang made a song featuring Jimin called 'Vibe' and he also appeared in Suchwita - Yoongi's show - for example We have provinces in Belgium too 🙌💜 Funny that you say they could never do fansigns again when Jin spent his time giving 1000 lucky fans hugs in June for Festa! He wanted to go in a park to do it with as many fans as possible. The label said no. He asked for 3000 fans. The label said no. And so on. Jinie is crazy but we love him (and he got his way) 😂 They were lucky to get along this well. They fought but they never had ill feelings toward each other, otherwise they would have never made it this far with everything they went through. I love how they're each other's biggest supporters as well. Yoongi literally created a whole show so that his bandmates would have a safe place to promote their solo projects. How cute is that? Also, they call Jungkook "Jungkookie" (정국이) because '이' (i) is used to talk about someone endearingly. It works with every name that end with a consonant. For example, you can say Seokjinie, Hoseokie, Namjoonie, Jiminie, Taehyungie, Jungkookie but not Yoongi...ie for obvious reasons, haha. But you could say Yoonie since Korean names are made of two parts which can be separated
Yeah, that prank that they did on JK when he was so young was not cool. It's one of those memories that still make me angry. But, I don't think they intended on making him cry. I think it was just a bit too harsh to do on the youngest member of the group. There are worse things he and everyone in BTS have dealt with, and that stuff really pisses me off, much more. They were ALL so young, and didn't deserve to be treated the way they were (and still are).
Actually they say you are 1 at birth and then on the new year they add another year. You can Google it. I guess South Korea is the only Country that calculated age like that.
They really shouldn't have made precious poor lil jungkookie cry like that on his birthday after being mean to him saying that he kept making mistakes when he was not making any.. he's was just a BABYY😭😭
No 16 its 1 to 2 years younger than age stated depending on when their birthday is. The day after Jin left the army he gave 1,000 ARMY a hug. He wanted to hug more people but management put their foot down.
Oh.. wow. So they basically felt threatened by BTS success. That's so sad and unfortunate from these companies. BTS deserved WAAAAAAY better!
Follow the money. BigHit couldn't pay off stations.
@@SusieQ1955 say it louder for those in the back!
They still have...even though hybe is huge now they are still considered new money, the others (big 3) have more influence and connections (since they are old money) compared to hybe, that's why the media still side more with them

YESS! ARMY got to know them from the very start for who they really are, I LOVE THIS!

You are so right! Everyone wants to talk about the "dark side of kpop", but they never talk about the dark side of the western entertainment industry.

Yes, they changed to using the international age in June, 2023, but said their may be some things that will
Continue using the old system.

The maker of The Rise of Bangtan is a fan who just happens to be a professional editor (lucky us!)
As for a fave BTS track, with a 300+ song discography where there are basically no skips it’s hard to narrow down a Top Ten let alone just one.
Ok from later on (2017) but this version has subtitles and BTS are super flirty th-cam.com/video/1A5pCnk9mp4/w-d-xo.htmlsi=mDe_w5v4c4ByVC7J
The other is the Cypher Circle Room.
*(Cr: "FY" on yt)*
I think it's important to notice the differences between BTS' worries and the other trainees worries.
*(Cr: "Shannon" on yt)*
Now plz understand this 1st & 2nd episode shows two sides, one is typical k-pop system and how the labels/industry work, whereas subtle hints of BTS and bighit being contradictory different is shown, BTS is different from other K-pop groups and BigHit is different from other idol music companies.
Tiger jk is pretty respected in the korean hiphop scene, RM featured on a song with his group Drunken Tiger called Timeless
BTS 😂)
The guy at the beginning was Tablo a member of Epic High... they were the first group that really influenced Suga.
Suga actually interviewed Tablo in his talk show Suchwita ( great interview)
Tiger JK is great!! Nice person and great musician.
Also, I love your bouncy personality
I hope you have a wonderful day.💜
BTS always focused more on building a very strong core fanbase rather then running behind industry higher ups and sucking up to them like most companies want their idols to do and that fact has shown its power in the long run.
Tae can't stop laughing)
But when I only can choose one BTS song, then I think I take "Butter" (or maybe "Bulletproof Eternal" ?)
Another thing are the videos, MVs.
AWW that is so sweet!! i love feeling like we're besties hanging out and geeking over BTS together HEHE!
from what i've seen so far, v really struggled with being hidden until his debut
I love the way you react so enthusiastically and give your own commentary ❤ You exude such a warm and excited energy and i truly appreciate that so much ! Keep going 😘
THAT'S SO NICEEE, thank you for saying that!! I love making these videos and being able to chat with cute ARMY like yourself!! I hope you're having the best day!
"but it didn’t take long to realize you’re just bubbly as f**k. lol." SENT MEEEE HAHAHAH I really am, you should see my parents LMAo they are me times 10000!! I will definitely turn the volume up more for next episode, thank you for letting me know!
Girl if you are an animated person just be you because that is what BTS at all about self love love yourself! you can't please everybody in the world. Like RM says do you! I mean..you can try to do it in chronological order but you will always be behind because BTS content never stops! 😂They said don't forget us and they made sure of it they love us so much!💜 Bestie you don't understand how hard they are on themselves to this day in BTS are their biggest critics but no one is harder on themselves so then Jungkook to this day! I keep editing this because I'm commenting as I'm watching but I here we go again! I've been Army for 5 years the song that literally saved my life and I do mean that literally is Magic shop is one of many very special army songs y
I LOVE your enthusiasm💜 It's s completely charming😍 To quote Jimin " you nice, keep going"💜💜💜💜💜💜
For fansigns: "They can never do this again."
When Jin just hosted a "hug me" event for 1,000 armys. 🤣🤣🤣
LMAOOOO Jin made me eat my words REAAALLL QUICK LOL
@@peachysaiyan You should see the video. It was the day he got discharged from the military. It was Festa and he had to strong arm bighit/hybe into letting him hug 1k armys 😭😭😭 He originally wanted 3k loooool 💜
Helpful hint for the guide:
Korean Age vs International Age - difference is 1-2 years depending on if their birthday has been.... In most older videos, including this guide, they are giving Korean ages so you will need to adjust.
The members were only 13-18 years old when they joined BTS and 15-20 yo when they debuted.
In Korea when you are born you are considered 1 year old. Then on lunar newyear every year you add another year to your age, no matter what your birthdate is. ....
Year of birth - International age at Debut on 13June13
Jin 1992 - 20 yo
Suga 1993- 20 yo Suga started with MIDI at 11
JHope 1994 - 19 yo JHope started dancing at 8
RM 1994 - 18 yo RM started rapping at 11 and was well known in the underground scene at 13
Jimin 1995 - 17 yo
V 1995 - 17 yo
JK 1997 - 15 yo he signed with big hit at 13
Rule of thumb - if it's before their birthday - subtract 2 years to get international age. if it's after their birthday - subtract 1 year to get their international age.
The Korean Government has recently (June28 last year) brought in international age as the standard in Korea, but all older videos/ interviews/ shows, will be referencing Korean age.
💜Have a great day
Sending Greetings from Australia💜
52yo ARMY since 2016.
Answering your last questions:
I was first technically introduced to BTS in 2015 by my cousin, who loved kpop, but I didn't really get into them until I rediscovered them in 2016.
Jin had an Event the day after his discharge from the military, he gave hugs to 1000 Armys, and later that day he met Armys to sing for them and play some games . that shows once more how deep BTS love for us armys is
UGHH I LOVE HIM!!!
I hope the creators continue this series. I'm crossing my fingers to meet their current journey. The army who created this did a phenomenal job.
so the creator of this series actually said that she wasn't going to finish it.
THEY PERFORMED IN HAMILTON!!? That's so close to me woah, hopefully they come back soon so you can get your merch HEHE

YES GIRL IVE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS 🎉 AND WE CHEER
They have made the age thing the same as the rest of the world.
That guy who yelled at him was a manager he was fired by bang.
Was he fired for this or other reasons? :O
RM would translate negative English comments to positive ones to save the rest of the guys from them. He held all the pain himself for them.
My heart omg.. :(
I've been army since October of 2020, wow, I can't believe it's coming to be 4 years!

PERIOD!!
Gosh. I love Bangtan so much 🤧
Nice been waiting for your upload💜💜💜💜💜💜
GIRL!!!!!!! I also live in Ontario!!! Let's Go Ontario Army!!!!
RIGHT?!?! Some jokes go way too far and that was one of them. Jungkook was legit heartbroken, i couldn't take it :(
I love you reaction 😭❤️ the prank on jungkookie made me cry too lmao
You should react to the song N.O before watching the next ep so you don’t get many spoilers ❤️
Ooh, good to know!! Thank you so much, I will try to squeeze it in!
I think watching their music in order is a great idea, however, if you only watch music videos you are going to miss a lot of depth and variety. Thank for another fun reaction!
Loved your reaction!!💜
The hardships they went through together made them so close, brothers💜
You say you are loving watching their journey. Well us Army's are loving watching yours.💜 I've been Army since 2014 when I watched their danger video. I fell hard for bangtan. They was different than anyone I had ever seen. Thank God for my k diamonds at that time translating for us international army. My favorite all time songs are so many. But the 3 is magic shop, Louder than Bombs and we are bulletproof the eternal.
Don’t cry 😭😭😭😭😭💔
Finally!!!😅💜💜💜 I can’t wait for the next episode 💜💜
In case of the article being a tl;dr:
From my interpretation, BTS did reasonably okay for their status as new artists from a relatively smaller label for their 1st and 2nd albums, which were released in their debut year and marketed to SK markets (with having
Been ARMY since February 2014 💜 It's hard to choose an all time favorite track, but it depends on my mood each day so it's different from day to day. Hmmm...today's mood is "Save me" at the moment.
OMG I've waited too long for this😭😭
Thank you!!
Love ittttt! Can’t wait for the next episodeee! Also, I hope you get well soon❤️
thank you so much, I finally got rid of that pesky cough LOL
I advise you ready more tissues in upcoming episodes, it will be a truly rollercoaster feelings ❤
on they could never do fan signs again...Jin literally the day after he came home from the military held an event where he hugged 1000 Armys and then performed for them lol. He said he went back and forth with the company, he originally wanted to give out hugs for a month straight to hug as many Army as possible lol.
Yes I was born in Korea and i was born when I was one years old.
Hello Peachy! There is also a Deleted Scenes and Bonus content in every chapter.. But bonus content it started with chapter 3.. I hope you should watch it too.. Borahae💜

Hey! ok so a couple things that aren't mentioned in the video that I found interesting when i learned about them:
1- the clip where Bang PD mentions they clear all other schedules when they're preparing for a comeback, that's actually a big deal because the company was struggling at that time and the guys all used to work side jobs to make revenue for the company.
@cola5473 8/11/23
Fun facts: Jimin said that he most admired Taeyang and he influenced him to become a singer.
Can't wait to see you react to chapter 3!!!
I love this series. Enjoy the rest!
7:12 you speak the TRUTH!
Don't say sorry 😅 all ARMYs are like that, we get very excited when we see a BTS video💜💜💜
Thank you :')
I think theres a clip in the deleted scenes for this ep (or maybe the next one?) where j-hope goes on their fancafe and says how many fans were following them on there and it was a pretty small number at the time! less than 1000.
VJ like DJ only video lol
OHH HAHAH thank you! I was so confused

Baby army for TWO years?!? I feel like at that point you are full ARMY, no? HEHEH I will definitely make time to react to those songs, thank you so much! 💜💜
You are awesome. Don’t listen to critics.
Hugs. Later's. -NY USA 2019 Army💟 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💟

(Cr: "FY" on yt)

There's literally a word for "You worked hard" that Koreans say, "수고하셨습니다" (sugohaseupnida). It's a part of their culture.
Mint said on 4/2/22
Yup.
Now i know that u know this, but this is for a lil background info and things to be notice in first two chapters for your wife to read & know 😊
I think it's important to notice the differences between BTS' worries and the other trainees worries.
(Cr: "Shannon" on yt)
Now plz understand this 1st episode shows two sides, one is typical k-pop system and how the labels/industry work, whereas subtle hints of BTS and bighit being contradictory different is shown, BTS is different from other K-pop groups and BigHit is different from other idol music companies.
Yup, that’s the group they were censoring name
I really love your reactions, I love that you are animated and a little loud 😂
See you in the next chapter!
Just so you know Aneesa is the name of their person that edited this series
There is a longer version of Jungkook's birthday where he cried. It got intense for a while. LOL I personally thought that was a bit mean but they probably didn't expect him to cry like that hehe they're all adorable when they were younger.. you'd just want to give them a warm hug or a gentle pat on the shoulder because you know that they needed it so badly at that time. Keep going with the reactions! :D And like I said in my previous comment to another video, I love your energy. Keep it up! :)
Its funny hearing random garbles of their voices as you edit out the song but some of the voice still gets through
Unrelated (I’m commenting this before watching) but I just want to say that I love your voice, you sound like an animation voice actor!
The two groups that were censored were EXO and BIGBANG but mostly EXO, I think. Exo-ls were particularly nasty toward BTS and ARMY. But we hold no grudges against those groups because they aren't at fault. Some members actually are friends or at least on good terms. BIGBANG's Taeyang made a song featuring Jimin called 'Vibe' and he also appeared in Suchwita - Yoongi's show - for example
We have provinces in Belgium too 🙌💜
Funny that you say they could never do fansigns again when Jin spent his time giving 1000 lucky fans hugs in June for Festa! He wanted to go in a park to do it with as many fans as possible. The label said no. He asked for 3000 fans. The label said no. And so on. Jinie is crazy but we love him (and he got his way) 😂
They were lucky to get along this well.
Untill now I’m still crying with jk frank clip
They really shouldn't have made precious poor lil jungkookie cry like that on his birthday after being mean to him saying that he kept making mistakes when he was not making any.. he's was just a BABYY😭😭
Esse diretor é o mesmo do RUN BTS? Porque se for, eles parecem ser bons amigos há bastante tempo, ele tem uma boa energia
No 16 its 1 to 2 years younger than age stated depending on when their birthday is. The day after Jin left the army he gave 1,000 ARMY a hug. He wanted to hug more people but management put their foot down.
