A bit of a tip from my mechanic mate. While you're driving & moving, turn the ignition off for a couple of seconds, then turn it on again, light goes out, limp stops & turbo comes back on. Then be really gentle with the accelerator. It will come back on again, usually when going up hill on mine.
Thanks for this video very helpful I purchased a 02 plate 2.8 yesterday from a auction in Norfolk with a 4 hr journey back to Yorkshire I checked over the van everything checked out fine and off we set . By the end of the industrial est the dreaded red diesel injection light came on and went into limp went i took my foot off the revs .I started to gear down steadily trying to use the momentum to try and drag fuel thru this seemed to work as the engine would fire back up fine and set off again. This happened every time I took my foot off the revs fast . So to combat this I had to keep some revs on while changing gear . Once in top gear the van drove fine most of the way back . Its obviously this is why it was put in the auction . But overall I am happy with my purchase its the chance you take buying over the Internet the engine and running gear are all fine so its just this teething problem ive got to sort out . My 2005 35C S13 2.8L started the dreaded flashing injector light after a rough kickback startup after refueling, Trouble for the next 180ks with intermittent periods of no flashing .Cut to the chase I TOOK THE SIDE COVER OFF THE ROCKER COVER to investigate the injectors,this is easy and no Tools are required .I started unpluging the cable /plug from the number 4 ,the engine didn't change its rough idle, then pushec it back on,then took off number 3 no change either in rough idle, However when I pushed it back on, the engine ran nicely. CONCLUSION/Solution it was just a poor physical connection to the pins of number 3 injector..I pulled it off 2 more times and pushed it home to challenge its connection.NO PROBLEMS. This vehicle has only done 168,000ks (I used a test lamp grounded at one end to test signal to each injector all were without fault ) .
Yes they are worth money. You need one serviced regularly. I had one 2002 with 165k I had gear box and clutch check and only seal on gearbox replaced. Rear axle seal may leakbut you can buy o-rings for 5 a pair. Cambelt with water pump replaced and diesel tank & injectors cleaned.Common problem are brakes ... you need to bleed it and make sure no piston seized (all brake pads holders lubrificated where needed)... they tend to collect sand and water so corrosion is blocking movement. Some parts are not expensive (non original). Cheaper to replace than Mercedes... and I have very little rust only behind each wheel arch compare to rusty Mercedes.
Try this as it may be a likely cause of injector dash light flashing. Bleed you fuel line ( metal pipes), as they have air in them. Get someone to turn over ignition whilst you go through every line leading to injector. As they start you open( with spanner) and quickly close. Keep doing until diesel spills through each pipe ( till you find the culprit). Your engine will start
My fathers Iveco has the same problem. It comes when driving full out and keeping throttle pedal down. If you keep releasing it up ones in the while about 10-15sec intervals, red injector light don't come up. Now it started to have problems to start. We got new prime pump and tested it out. When turning key to power on, pump starts for 10sec no probs.. we tested pressure form fuel filter manifold and pump gives about 1bar pressure and after pump stops, pressure drops instantly. I don't think it should drop pressure.. isn't there back pressure valve? Or could pressure pump piss pressure through?
My 2002 daily 13 injection warning light came on, terrified me, turned out to be a broken brake light switch. 10 days wait to get factory service, half day there, and $300 in fees. I hope this helps out. PS no limp mode occured.
Hey Seb, thanks for your thoughts, it's weird, sometimes mine is fine but then a little mis always at tickover and the engine dies and on comes the flashing light. if i remove the solenoid and plug it straight back in the van starts as normal. i'm hoping now that it could be a sticking injector mainly because i think thats easier than replacing the HP Pump..!!
Take side cover off 3 clips if you haven't unclip cable to injector and reconnect ,it solved my problem I had 400ks of poor performance running on 3 cylinders ,fixed it when I got home after all sorts of mucking around with filter change etc
Hello Seb, what do you mean by the light not being on permanently? Ours comes on after about 5/10/15 minutes once the engine heats up, but once the engine is off and cooled it starts up fine not in limp mode? Do you have any idea which tip of yours it could be? Thanks
My injector light was simply the connection on the injector number 3 and 4 .Solution was purchasing new connectors on internet only $ 4 each they are identical to Ivecos . Just cut and join with connectiors screw type typical electrical type or solider. The light plauged me off and on for months ,and tricked me changing the fuel pump & filter.
I have the mk4 and its cutting out when you accelerate hard. Also blowing shit loads of black smoke. Put it on diagnostics today(sunday) and its come up fuel pressure sensor. Changing that first thing tomorrow morning. Will reply with diagnosis.

I have similar problem comes on only after 2500 rpm if I release the accelerator pedal it used to be really bad to the point that it would come on after 1500 rpm accelerating but I changed the throttle pedal and now it only comes on when I release the pedal and cannot RE accelerate until revs drop below 2000rpm or 1500 when it's cold any advise gladly received
I have the same issue. It only happens to me when I am going down hill and revs increase over about 3000rpm (engine breaking). Goes into limp mode unit engine revs reduce then its fine.
I have Iveco Daily 3.0 , 50c15 of 2009, but has really given problem solving it. For everything I have tried but nothing is happening. We changed ecu and bsi but nothing working. What can be the cause
Helloooo Anybody here. Just done a carbon clear out Iveco 2005. Injector and key code. Tries to start then dies. Unplugged the battry, and it works OK.. for a short while. Then I'm bck to square one .. eginning to regret tge hydrogen clear out..mechanic was quite brutal revving her up..as soon as a male friend came to watch he'd go fairly gently. I dunno..this Iveco ain't nothing like my 98 tranny
Mine comes in and out when accelerating at higher speeds on motorways. Or when pushing over 3000rpm. Already spent so much cash replacing the common problems

Same problem. I got it diagnosed & told I needed to replace all injectors... which is an expensive job, trying to find out whether it could be something else and/or how to replace the fuel injectors myself

I had same injector light come on with it refusing to start/run ended up being engine/immobiliser ECU refusing to recognise key couldn't get key reprogrammed by iveco as van wasn't coded same as iveco records ended up having to replace ECU cost £1400.00 apparently happens a lot after speaking to numerous people that've had same problem
Ah Yeah I figured that out after I posted... but I have just bought an iveco daily luton, and the one thing the seller said as he soled it to me was that the injector needs to be changed, but wasn't too clear about weather it needed just cleaning /new seal, or a new one fitted. And After watching your video i'm guessing that maybe he didn't know exactly what was wrong.
Please can you super mechanics help me . I have an 06 daily 2.3 it's starts runs for a minute the injector light comes on and it cuts out but will start no problem again .somethings telling me fuel pressure but this is my first iveco and I'm clueless .thanks for reading

My IVECO VAN 2012 35S14 had an EDC light on when the engine lost power, any idea why?

Hi. I had that same injector sign flaring when tried to start.I used startgas a few times and it stat. After that it's start with no problem😀😁
Apologies for the ignorant question, but doing a diagnostic test not help in giving a clearer idea of the problem cause?
I ask as I've replaced a lot and just wondering whether diagnostic test will help

Hi what is the problem what's it doing
Fixed mine by pulling the injector relay out of the fuse box, blowing in it and putting it back in again.
Do you have the number location for the relay so I can give this a try and tick it off the list of subjestion
