Hi Esme! Never thought purple shampoo would work! If you’re reading this, I have a video suggestion: a stable / farm tour because there might be new people and also with the renovation and stuff it would be different. Hope you can consider this ❤

I like to spray the detangler in at the beginning of the grooming session, it works way better if it sits a while.
Also, I wrap the tails parts around my hand before I brush to prevent hair from beeing pulled out.
I use a human brush with very parallel bristles, the bristles on brushes for horses are often all over the place, which pulls out more hair.

Thank you so much for this! At the barn I ride at the horse I usually ride is a Grey and it takes me soo long to just brush him even for a short ride. This was super handy considering it usually takes me a good hour sometimes more again like I said for even such a short ride. I hope you have an amazing day amd thank you again!

Okay, you are so lucky you have an outdoor grooming area. Imagine have 12 horse as dirty as Casper all in this stuffy barn, with no ventilation except the doors!
Yep very helpful 🤣 I go down to my instructors every Sat the greys always look horrid & one everyone is scared to touch! Maybe because she bites & kicks but thx now I’ll be doing this more often and getting asked “what am I doing?” 🤣 Esme your inspiration!

I have my own flea bitten gray mare now and I now understand your struggle 😅 also she’s super lame right now cause she pulled a shoe and then screwed up her foot so I hope our farrier does her magic as always and I’ll be back to riding her next week cause she’s green tight now and I know she’s gonna be so so fresh when I get back on 😬 wish me luck 😂

Excellent tutorial, I remember my first yard lesson always wear hard hat around horses. Well Clydesdales have huge hooves, the other comment was it's not a good grooming session if you don't have a sweat on. On keeping things white, mum used to show border collies, used bay rum on their black bits, and white chalk on their white bits.

Have a chesnut and a black horse so I can relate especially with my black one thing I find really helpful is mixing white vinegar and water is a great spot remover.

Funny you say stsble stains ive been trail riding a friend gelding since September 2015 that is quarter horse paint and my friend said he unfortunately likes to get stable stains from lying down at night in his stall primarily on hos left side 😂! Her horses are awesome!,been riding w her since 2011. Her horse Hawkeye is my horsie bestie. Love you and your horses esme!

honestly i swear by my dandy brush!! it's literally the only brush i use on my grey mare and she has a suuuper soft coat and is always so clean!

Honestly Esme I would cripple under the stress of keeping that many grey horses clean. Especially because the fields at my yard are so muddy! Luckily my baby is a dark bay! (Still does the best she can to get dirty though) Is there any chance that you could do a video on grooming/handling shy horses? My horse is girth shy and some horses are like head shy?
