Just got one. Generally happy though it doesn't get up and down my steps. My pool is curved both in section and plan. This does seem to affect it's climbing ability. I'm surprised at the claim that it's good on low-flow pumps. I find it needs plenty of sucking power.
my MX6 has been working reliably for about 2 years. But I have now replaced the rubber bands and the "differential". I have now come across the information that the number of revolutions at 10 revolutions should be 20 to 25 seconds. What happens to my robot if it has 15 revolutions at 22 seconds instead of 10? So about 50% more. What could happen?
When you say that the speed will be too high and it sits upright is that like almost pop in Willy I have the MX eight I just purchased a six but I found it to be on the back side lift it up like it’s popping a Willy. I’ve had it for about six years, just replace the controllers but it’s still going in circles
Mine pops up on the back tires some but normally comes back down. You may want to lower the suction on it some. I believe it’s supposed to occasionally spin in circles to switch direction. Mine does that too.
@StephenFixesThings thank you for responding! After using a snap on water flow piece that goes through the skimmer the vacuum seems to work much better! There was too much water pressure it seems, now it's working well.
Hello I thnk I figured it out!! So last night I went out and if you have any house on the surface of the water …. Then there’s air! Need to disconnect hose but leave it submerged in the water to take out air! Do that through out the house needs to be submerged completely! Thnx let me know if it works!!
I usually pool it out and set it to the side. If it’s really really hot outside it’s best to keep it in the shade when not using or the hose can weaken and crack.
@@StephenFixesThingswell that can be a pain. Here v in southern California we have really hot weather during summer months.I was c thinking of getting one but if have to take everything out of the pool each day I dont know now.😅
It’s normal for it to sometimes not be flat, but if it’s constantly like that then there’s probably too much suction. I usually open the main drain some more.
I thought that you should not attach it directly to that port @2:30 without it going through a skimmer basket. I attach mine to a skimmer cover but I don't know if this is the right way.
@@StephenFixesThings Very useful video regardless I have an mx6 that came with the house when I bought it. It has been giving me problems I just replaced the gearbox. It works fine for 10 minutes but then it stops. Maybe it is not getting enough pressure.
So i take it you don't need a pool man if you have this cleaner? Also, can you tell me how the pump looks while running this unit. Does it rake on air or are you not supposed to see any air in the pump basket for it to be working properly.
@@StephenFixesThingsok I'm going to try to go without a pool man. Right now I'm getting air in my pump when I vacuum and I bleed the air out but it returns. I think I need to blow my vacuum lines out.
@@HRTsAFyrewe've never had one. We used a Hayward kreepy for years, but it finally died. We've been cleaning our's for a year with just a suction hose and woman power.. meaning I go in the pool and walk around the pool cleaning it myself. Well that got old. So we just purchased this MX6, put it in this morning. It's moving well, but pops wheelies where the water is coming back into the pool from the pump. Most of the debris in the bottom is gone already. Which is a miracle. I did notice while it's not flat, it still able to suction debris. Our's is also 16x32. We're going to need 2 more hoses, as it only came with enough for 30 ft.
It's not a weight. It's a float, that attempts to keep that part of the hose vertical and therefore the vacuum flush with the surface at the bottom of the pool. BTW it looks like you have a problem with algae in the bottom corners of your pool. You would normally connect hose ABOVE the basket and NOT remove it, or you're gonna have to clean the filter at your pump. Not the way. Think of a drowned rat, or big piece of debris being sucked all the way from your pool weir to the pump. A blockage somewhere en route is gonna ruin your day.
Thank you for sharing your experience with this pool cleaner.
Very helpful! Thanks so much. I’m a new homeowner & never had a pool. 😅

Hell yeah. I think im gonna purchase one of these thank you for the quality and thorough review!
Watched your video many times. We got it connected and in the pool, but no rotation.

If it’s scrubs the wall, how come wall look bad?

Mine too and I can’t figure out hoe to adjust it.
Should the pump setting be on Filter or waste?
Hey, keep it in filter
How do you use it in above ground pool? I cant find a good way to hook it up in skimmer
Are these recommended for pools with DE filters?
Help! Why does my sweeper pop back pn back tires? Also often turns in circles 3 or 4 times

i am ordering one on Amazon, thank you.
Do you keep your MX6 in the pool on the days you're not using it? I just installed mine today.

You’re right. Much better to attach it to the basket.

I’ve had no air going into the pump at all. Runs the same way as if it wasn’t hooked up. No pool man for us!

If you adjust the grey part with red tab, will that make it move faster?
On the pump , do i place pump on Backwash ?
Nope, keep it on your normal filter setting
you leave the pump on filter. I've found if I need extra power I can put on Bypass, but then only leaves and debris will be caught in the leaf trap.
Thank you!
Thanks
It's not a weight, it's a floater
You’re absolutely right. Good call out.

Good call. I'm going to work on getting an attachment to pull it directly to the trap.
