I saw a chef 🧑🍳 put oven on 425 degrees & put cold Dutch oven with bread & lid in cold oven, bake 45 min , remove lid & bake 15 minutes more. It worked for me because my bread always burned at the bottom & my oven only goes to 450 degrees anyway. 😊❤🤷♀️👍🏼

I just love your methods. Break all the stupid rules and get a lovely delicious loaf of bread just like in the olden days before all the expensive gadgets were invented to make things complicated. (although that dough sling looks pretty helpful!) Haha🤣

Thank you. I made my first sourdough bread ever, today. I'm not a fan of the taste myself, but my dad is. I followed your recipe. But, after searching the reason behind putting the dough in a dutch oven, I saw no difference in what I have always done for my artesian bread. And I followed it as normal: Heat flat cast iron grill in oven to 450. But, I use a small roaster pan with a cup of water on the bottom shelf, while baking. I baked for 30 mins. And it came out fantastic. Thank you, I'm a hit with my dad again. LOL

curious did you use a dome lid on your cast iron skillet?
@@2malsahm59 No, just the typical lid that came with it. It's a self basting lid and is pretty much flat.
@@2malsahm59 No, I did not. I also made another one on a cookie sheet with parchment paper under it. Worked wonderful. I did use parchment paper with the iron grill. I think using water on the bottom rack is the thing that makes it work.

❤ Thank you so much for this video. I was so intimidated looking at videos and websites for an artisan sourdough loaf. With how great this loaf came out I don't think I'll ever want to put in the effort to try one of those weighted recipes with all of the extra processes involved.
