Wow looks so good. I’ve got modelling clay to make some, then when dry I’m going to try and make silicone molds for wax. Not sure how it will turn out, but thanks for the tutorial, getting the flower right is my first step.
the all in one! I'm so happy to hear that you made the rose for you mom and she enjoys it. Thanks for you support! And I use a music song call Simple in iMovie music library. It's fun and catchy, right? :)
It is absolutely beautiful and looks like a real rose amazing. What are all the supplies you used brand trip of clay and where do you buy the petal cutters plus press molds ? I made roses before but I formed them free style . This is better. Thank for the inspiration
Hi from a new subscriber,Your roses are stunning,it is not something I have made with clay, but I have with fondant and modelling chocolate, but neither were anywhere near as good as yours. Thanks for sharing.
Hi thank you for sharing this tutorial. What kind of color did you use to dye the foam. My daughter is getting married in a week and I want to surprise her with a flower bouquet.
I’ve made my own clay roses 🌹 by forming the petals myself. I’m curious about the kind of clay that was used here? The ones I’ve used have to be baked on a low heat to set... these are beautiful and I’ll be stopping by Hobby Lobby to look for the tool she used to create veins in the petals, although I don’t think it’s necessary... I think they’d make lovely gifts...or add them to your wrapped present 🎁 after you’ve added the bows.
How thin would you say you roll your clay? My petals often crack and tear at the outer edge when I try to curl them. Also, no matter how fast I feel like I'm working, I just don't have enough working time before the clay starts to stiffen, is there some sort of trick? I've heard baby oil on your hands maybe?
Deanna Kriger I usually roll my clay to the thickness of 0.5mm or if you use pasta rolling machine, you can put at number 1 (2 should be alright, too). The time for clay to be stiffened really depends on the type of clay that you use to make flowers. I use Deco Clay so in order to keep the clay moist, I spray a little bit of water into a paper towel and cover the clay that haven't been used. Otherwise, if I use Thai clay (or resin type of clay), you can apply a small amount of hand cream or baby oil on your hands while you work with the clay. Once you finish, you can wrap the leftover with a cling wrap that has a thin layer of oil/cream inside, then put everything in an air-tight container. There are also a product call clay softener (www.sculpey.com/product/sculpey-clay-softener-0/) for you to apply to the clay that has been dried out. I hope that my information is helpful for you. Have a great day! :)
Pritha SP Thank you very much for your support! I use air dry clay so it will dry out completely after 24 hours in normal condition. No need to bake :)
Hi! I absolutely love your tutorial is was one of the simplest and realistic tutorials. I was thinking of making these roses for a hair comb for Prom. Where did you get the leaf cut outs?
please can you tell me what was the white 'ball' you used to start off the rose.....ie was it clay or possibly polystyrene . many thanks..i hope you make more of these sort of videos with different flowers etc... 5*****
Thanks Lyn. The white ball I used in the video was made by polystyrene. You can use clay ball if you like. I use polystyrene ball just to save the cost ;)
Mr. & Mrs Wojciechowski Thank you very much for your support! I purchase Deco Clay from here: deco-shop.myshopify.com/ You can try to make air dry cold porcelain, however it is not as durable as Deco Clay.
Hi Kat, thank you very much. I'm trying to create more flowers and tutorials at the moment. Sorry for the wait, I'm working full time so it's quite hard to keep up with my hobby ^^. I used Deco Clay in this video by the way.
It looks so real! Please make more videos... When you mold each petal for details how come the clay petal does not stick to the mold when you take it out? And it doesn't stick to the table when you roll out the clay either. How did you manage that? Do you have to leave them completely dry before forming into the flowers? Do you use glue to glue the petals together? Thanks so much for your work!
On the Design A Cake website, which rose petal cutters did you purchase? They have small, medium, large, and wide small, wide medium, and wide large. And do you only use one size petal veiner for every petal of any size? Thanks!
Warneverchanges89 Hi, thanks for watching my tutorial. I purchased the large and wide large size and used for all the roses. The reason was I want to save some money and the large size still work fine to all the smaller roses. Smaller petals do not need to apply much veiner because they will be covered by the large ones anyway. I hope my answer help. Enjoy your crafting time!
Does this clay stick to itself without any adhesive, and do you bake them afterwards? Beautiful job, I make these in sugar for cakes and it’s the exact same tools and technique but I’d like to recreate my granddaughters wedding bouquet in clay as a gift as I’m doing it in sugar on the cake ❤
Hi there, i am really very much impressed from your talent, and i really wish to see many more of your videos in near future.. Just need a favor.. could you please let me know which color i should add to the clay.. and can you pass me the link from where i can purchase this air dry clay at reasonable cost with good quantity. Thanks you soo much in advance

My favorite beginner tutorials are the ones that don't talk at all about measurements, tools or techniques.
Wow! Those roses are so realistic and gorgeous! I've never seen anyone interlock the petals before or use a round base.
