Thanks for posting this unboxing video. Some good items 👌. Hope you have a merry Christmas and a happy new year. Will be looking out for your videos next year.
I have never bought any of these boxes, and to be honest, this video shows why. I only play Bolt Action, and used to play Warhammer Ancient Battles (a very good set of wargames rules).
@Swindondruid2 that's a totally fair way to look at it. Even the ww2 box's they have done in the past contain other games systems. I don't think they would ever do a bolt action only one (I really wish they would), but if they did, I could really see it being all over the place with factions.
My box contents were fairly similar, a Hannomag, IS-2 tank, Commonwealth troops, SPQR Romans, Campaign Blue Case book, La Hayne Saint 15mm and then the same filler items. I was quite pleased with mine, as I have a German force, started an 8th army force this year and the IS-2 will go into my Korean War Chinese army. I can use the Romans as I play Ancients and SPQR.
I'm glad to hear that you got some nice things that you can use as well! As I said. I really do think that this was a nicely thought out box, with just enough Bolt action stuff to carry the other 'filler' items.
Wow, not bad honestly although similar to mine with brushes, tape, bit of bolt action and same campaign but tbh is better then the ones years ago what I got was: Panzer 38t, Cromwell cruiser tank, US army infintry platoon (winter), SPQR legionaries with gladius and sling, Mein kamerad, Kurt Knispel, tape measure, paint brush 0-2, order dice flame orange, Sasquatch, La Hayes Sainte Scenery Pack, Campaign D-day: US sector, Epic scale Waterloo French and British sprue and German Veteran infantry frame. Looking forward to putting it all together and glad it was actually pretty good did hope for different infintry but could put it towards expanding the starter set which I'm glad they made as it's so much more affordable to get into bolt action and learn. Love watching your mystery box videos as well very entertaining everytime. 😅
@theextrabeardedpug7229 ah thank you very much! I really enjoy making them! Nice haul you got there. Nice that you can expand the starter set, the winter kit is really nice!
Most in my box was the same, but instead of the Stuard, Japanese and yak, I got a Opel blitz, British commandos and 6 random Humbrol paints (and a figure and frensh tankriders). Overall very happy with the contents. 😀
The idea behind these mystery boxes is cool but in practice it really comes down to the luck of the draw in whether it will suit your current collection or will need you to start a new collection If you did have a group of friends who had different factions it could work well to exchange individual boxes between the group Interestingly the price point for bolt action is the same there about as Old World purely based on limited research of the Japanese army box vs GW battalion boxes. Part of the issue is that Warlord Games charges non UK customers 27% extra on top of exchange rates and I can buy battalion boxes for old world with a 21% discount. Warlord AU$266 for the army and GW AU$233 both of which would get free shipping due to meeting the minimum spend. This isn’t a criticism of Warlord Games really as GW has a 40% penalty but the difference is I can offset part of that by finding LGS that offer discounts Going back a few years Warlord only had the one store so there wasn’t a built in penalty to being overseas other than higher free shipping thresholds for min spend.
I'm very happy with my box: French infantry Waterloo 15mm British infantry Waterloo 15mm La Haye Sainte Waterloo 15mm BA German veteran infantry Warlord Games tape measure 3 brushes BA ice white (blue symbols) order dice BA Mein Kamerad Free Book Figure BA The White Death Simo Hayha Finnish Sniper Louis de Bourbon (mounted) SPQR Gaul Warriors BA British & Inter-Allied Commandos BA SD.KFZ 250 (Alte) half-track BA M18 Hellcat BA Campaign D-Day US Sector
@@WrathRuin, I'm happy I didn't get an extra Imperial Japanese infantry box. I had them in two previous boxes. My Japanese force is decent now 🙂 I'll probably join in next time too.
@peteblackbourne514 the last few times I would agree. But none of the items in this box were in clearance and would be selling fairly well. Especially the bolt action stuff.
Seems LIKE a waste of money for items that are not needed. I prefer to but what I want and not leave it up to someone else that dose not know what I like and play/collect. Thanks for sharing, I'll not be buying any of warlords mystery boxes any time soon . Merry Christmas
@WhataboutTRUTH that's a totally fair way to look at it. Some times you get a proper win and can use everything. Other times you can't. That's part of the fun

@@sewciopl9159 I hope you enjoy the contents
@@WrathRuin i do.
As i see there's bunch of common stuff, like La Haye 15mm building or epic napoleonic spruess. Order dices and tape measure.
@sewciopl9159 there is, but there also seems to be a nice spread of armour in them
@@WrathRuin i would love to get some american infantry or italian armour
@sewciopl9159 let me know what you get!

@WrathRuin Definitely.... a lot more useful items in this box than I've in previous boxes.

mystery boxes always seem to contain what they want to get rid of..
@peteblackbourne514 the last few times I would agree. But none of the items in this box were in clearance and would be selling fairly well. Especially the bolt action stuff.
Didn’t order this due to thinking it was going to be full of the old books but it’s not to bad to be fair
@kennyleslie4915 I was worried that they would put all the second ed stuff for Bolt in there. But seems that they thought better 😆
I live in the states shipping prohibits me from ordering box from England
@e-4airman124 oh I'm sorry to hear that. Do warlord not ship to the US?
