I can offer a useful tip... Remove the spring on the primary throttle plate that acts on the fast cold idle cam. While you will lose your fast cold idle, the engine will still start and idle just fine because the cold mix is still plenty rich to keep the cold engine running. It simply pops out with a needle nose pliers, but watch where it flies! But that's NOT all that little spring does. Whenever you let off the throttle it retards the closing of primary butterfly for a "soft landing" so you get a lot LESS engine braking when headed into corners when the primary throttle plate is held open. Removing that spring allows the primary throttle plate to SOLELY be operated by the cables with ZERO input from the ECU. Trust me, you'll love it! You will get immediate engine braking the instant you close the throttle without the ECU holding it open. I'm the first one who has ever done this mod, so let me know what you think of it.
I don't read a lot of forums, so thanks for mentioning the secondary butterfly in the throttlebody. I've been wondering why the throttle response isn't what I think it should be.
