Technically, this is the first opening of Beast Wars Metals, the Japanese dub of Seasons 2 & 3 of Beast Wars (known here as Beast Wars Transmetals and Transmetals II), which aired after the sequels to the OG Beast Wars Japanese dub, Beast Wars II and Beast Wars Neo.
All the Japanese dubs of Beast Wars were slightly more comedic in nature. Even if the dub of Beast Machines (Beast Wars Returns in 2004) was also more comedic.
The entire series in JP dub in on internet archive, the Takara Tomy youtube channel is also uploading episodes in high quality but still on the first season.
So I could be wrong on this since it's been a while but this is the Season 2 Opening theme for BW in Japan. They didn't start on Season 1 and the show was more comedic.
Original BW are poor taste animal combos list in TV and toys, lost so many potential on different characters, mine would be full improved to future remake and personal story hybrid of American and Japanese images of BW stories.

この絵はアメリカの絵だと思うから、元の敵味方別れた構図になっているんでしょう。
