Dude I need a nier game that adapts these drama CDs. Imagine being able to play in modern day shinjuku that becomes apocalyptic as hell, fighting off legion in the process.
The remaster could have put it all together (Like the Ending E), I would love to, too. I didn't even need gameplay if it didn't fit, it could even be a sound novel. (We can only pray for a DLC now).

It's actually amazing how deep and complex the world of these games are when the game doesn't directly give you any of this information which would illuminate the world so much. It's so perfect for experiencing the game through the perspective of the characters as we are learning the truth in the same enigmatic way piecing the information together as we get little bits of it here and there.

Automata only summarizes the result of replicants story, and will leave a player clueless to how things actually went down. 3. There are hints contained within the games to their lore and connections but it's never blatantly told to your face. Old man in library mentions WCS and something falling from the sky. The tree mentions a red dragon falling from the heavens. Emil mentions his past vaguely describing things of replicants time, androids get the logic virus which is basically red eye disease, eve has a tattoo of the cult of the watchers, remains of the masked people are found in the desert via ruins and masked machines. You need to actually crack open books and blu rays and drama CDs to get a better picture of the NieR series.

considering all the religious references in Drakengard 1, it was kind of expected. I know almost nothing about religion, but IIRC, the New Testament mentions something about trumpets being sounded by angels after all the seals are opened, and how this would announce the beginning of an apocalypse. This is basically what happens during the game, with the difference of the apocalypse being avoided in an specific world, and the burden being passed on to a different one

Drakengard one player here, when I heard there was a Drama CD that covered Ending E, you bet your ass I was all over that shit. I recently got to the final ending and, watching the Queen Beast fall from the sky I could only imagine how terrifying it would have been from the perspective of someone in Tokyo. A nice day and suddenly THAT comes down? Not to mention that cursed fucking rhythm game. Just surreal. Anyways, I'm really happy that this covered the whole ending E event! It will make replaying it an absolute doozy.
The most terrifying part to me is when the Queen Beast starts to sing everything goes quite, not just the people but the cars, the sirens, and even the fire that you can vaguely make out all go silent, as if the whole world became entranced by the sound. You have to wonder, if white chlorination syndrome is the result of the Queen Beast being stopped, what would have happened if Caim and Angelus had failed or never gone through the portal in the first place, what exactly does the song do?

Now, I fully understand being absolutely terrified when that _thing_ starts causing what we know would be the end of the world, as well as the airforce pilots firing at what they thought was the threat, or at least a contributor. But I wonder... how differently would things have gone, if Caim and Angelus weren't shot down? On the miniscule chance they were able to explain (very important) details to the people of Tokyo, just how many details about the NieR lore would have changed? I fully expect them to be strapped down and vivisected/harvested eventually, and WCS to still happen, but still...
I have never played any Nier games nor anything related to it, I just watched the Drakengard Ending E and liked how surreal it looked, and now listening to this. GODDAMN what a lore this is.
I haven't heard the whole thing because i'm still playing Replicant and i don't want to spoil myself despite how i'm gonna suffer. But i love how vast the lore is and how it connects to Drakengard. I wish this could exists in another format, like a manga, or tv series. There's a lot of stuff to explore, like the Legion, Red Eye, and whatever happened during the thousand year timeskip.

Does it mean that grandmother whom Kainé loved so much was actually sponsoring the children experiment laboratory which handled Halua and Emil? Or is it just my misunderstanding? Because if it’s like that I find it really disturbing. I wonder if Kainé knew.. but then again she is severly mentally broken character already so more pain here and there probably wouldn’t change much I also wanted to say that the picture of Kainé’s grandmother I have from the game is so different from how she is portrayed here. Almost makes me wonder if it’s the same person? Or was there some significant twist that either wasn’t mentioned or was caused by flow of time?
This would be the original person that the grandmother you are familiar with is a Replicant of. By the time the game's story takes place, the Replicant System has become so worn out that the Replicants themselves often hardly resemble their originals. One of the stories in Grimoire NieR did confirm that Kainé had something of an idea of the existance of the original humans (seeing as she can speak to Shades) but it's unlikely she knew about this and I doubt it would have mattered. I think if there's anything we can take from the Protaganist and the Shadowlord it's that the Gestalt and Replicant do exist as seperate people, however similar they may be. This is getting into hot take/fanfiction territory, but Kali's Gestalt could have been one of the ones who fused together into Hook, which could add some context for her ability to mimic her voice.
After this, I fucking hate what people are saying about NieR anime. They have no idea ! Kaine 😢 oh Kaine...... emil!!!!!😭😭😭 and when the music start..........,😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭

desperately need a game that covers all this material especially the battle against the legion, red eye and any corelation it may have with the watchers. like I want to see this stuff visually, if not in a game at least a special episode or two in the automata anime since it already showed a news clip from the day of the 6/12 incident.

@@Kai_2053 yes, localization is always trash with Japanese games, they take out so many details and completely dumb out/change the game overall.
@@miaomiiao So true. One of the biggest offender is the “No one stops” scene which is far from what she actually says in japanese. In fact, that whole cutscene is poorly translated and nuances that shape characters are lost.
