It's only Mary Magdalene's bones, dear Sister in Christ. Many believe our Queen Bee Monarch from Pandora's Box, will Be Incarnated before The Second Coming of Jesus Christ. Though the Lord knows you heart, and you are blessed, for wanting to connect with her ⚜️💍💍
As the tradition states the Jews of Jerusalem put Saints Mary Magdalene, Mary Jacobe, mother of James and the sister of the Virgin Mary, Mary Salome, mother of the apostles James and John, Maximin, one of the seventy two disciples of Christ, Cedonius, the blind man who was miraculously healed by Jesus, Marcelle, Martha’s servant, and Sara, maid of the two Marys on this boat with no oars, no sail, and no rudder. They pulled out to the Mediterranean Sea and let it go. It ended up in Marseille. A side note: these brave Christians also brought the remains of Saint Anne, the Mother Of the Blessed Virgin Mary, which are in Apt France today. The finding of these relics by Charlemagne is fantastic.

Although probably not true, as the Dan Brown novel and movie _The DaVinci Code_ imply, the "Le Pyramide Inverse" at the Louvre WOULD probably be the safest place for the remains of Mary Magdalene to rest, especially with all the controversy that was brought on even before Dan Brown wrote his fiction - or is it completely?
How do they know that’s Mary Magdalene if she died a long time ago? Who preserved her bones all this time? How do they know is really her that is my question?
Of course we can't know. What we do know from scientific tests is that the skull is female, she died at around 50 years old and lived in the 1st Century A.D. Which fits the legend, but it isn't proof that the skull is Miriam of Magdala.
You might be a little more understanding if you knew the ultimate reason. Relics (remains of the saints - those who are in heaven awaiting the Resurrection of their bodies) are there for devotional purposes; namely, to remind us of the Resurrection of our own bodies, that sanctity is possible in this life, that regular people or even great sinners can become great saints when we turn our lives over to Jesus Christ. Ultimately, the relics are there to inspire us, to lead us to prayer, it’s an aid to lead our minds and hearts to God in Christ Jesus Our Lord. Prayer is where we meet God on a personal level. This is the end goal. Union with God. It starts with prayer. Say for example, some great sinner sees Mary Magdalene, recalls her life, and for the first time ever, says a small prayer, “Lord, help me to know You.” That could be the very start of that person getting on the right track and ultimately Heaven. The display is not for external purposes, but essentially internal. Also, relics are never disrespected, but kept in an honorable place, and are continuously honored by Catholics by external signs of reverence, such as a bow, a kiss, a small prayer of thanksgiving to God for their life on earth, etc.
It would be a matter of faith to believe this church has her bones. What is the date when this church was originally built. I gather at some point the leaders of this church received her body from another caretaker.
I’m not sure what kind of “proof” you are looking for. I used to think that way. But I realized it’s not reasonable to demand extraordinary proof of such things. It’s more of like a convergence of probabilities which allows one to reasonably conclude that such is highly likely. Divine Revelation is different from this of course. Anyway, it is reasonable to believe it. Think about a family (Christian Church) of thousands of thousands of members who knew her. They would have kept account of where she was, where she was buried, etc. It’s reasonable to say that information was past down and preserved in tact throughout subsequent generations. Im no one, and I can trace back my ancestors graves in a different country from over 200 years ago. Think of how reasonable that kind of information would have been preserved within the Early Christian Church with thousands of thousands of members. In addition, there are ancient extra-biblical historical documents of that time period which support this tradition within the Catholic Church. For example, there are old historical documents relating Christians being persecuted and having been exiled at that time from where Mary Magdalene was living near Jerusalem who made their way to the south of “Gaul” through the Mediterranean. Of course the non Christian historical account doesn’t have like a list of names “Mary Magdalene, Lazarus, Martha, etc.” or anything. There’s a lot more to it.
What you should be asking is why catholic churches have bones of saints and character on the bible..your church on the other hand only has bones of your pastor which is a sinner..start from that
@@PierreRepooc A friend and I wanted to climb up to the top of the "mountain" to see the 'hermit cave' of Mary Magdalene (where she was said to have spent her last years in contemplation). We climbed and climbed these great big 'steps" - each step maybe three feet high - it was so hard. So my friend goes to the VERY tippy top (I don't because I don't like heights). We to the same awkward trek DOWN the big, giant steps....then find out there is a "kings' way" which is a smooth road that winds up the mountain, which we could very easily have walked up! It was a strenuous but wonderful day. This was around 1998.
Not correct place of burial. She returned to Jerusalem and was laid to rest with one of her sons, Yeshua and Yeshua’s mother (Mary) with his brothers and Joseph. This is so wrong they have a skull on display! Idolatry. So sad

The movie had too many alterations.
You also have to remember who financed that movie..

I suppose it is a matter of faith.
Why did they have to take her precious head??
A jaw bone which had been kept in the Vatican was compared to this skull and it matched perfectly.

Not likely but I was with a tour group so hard to say.

This is a very insightful observation and one I believe also. I was constructed in 1295.
Thanks for the comments.
How the heck do they know for sure that’s Mary magdalenes head?
For sure they don’t, even though some of the history may support it. I believe the church, however, would say simply it is a matter of faith.

can the relics be independently and scientifically verified?
I would doubt it. Maybe carbon dating would be possible to give an age of the bones.
