I’ve got this (and many others from this great year) on an old VHS tape subsequently transferred to DVD - still watch my old Eurovision compilations!
Here's something to all the performers, arrangers, conductors: yes, in spite of all your hard work, the juries may have spit into your faces on the night and sent you to the bottom of the scoreboard with some pity points from Malta or whatever. But here we are, close to 30 years later, still enjoying your performances. Wise words from Ingvild: Eurovision is not a sprint, it's a marathon! Thank you!
One of the best, if not the best pure vocal performances ever seen on the ESC stage. There are better songs but the power of Sigga's voice is unmatched.
Loved this..I was only 12 at the time and Istill remember this song.
amazing Sigga Beinteinsdottir, love this song a lot.
My 12 points of that year.
Great song and it seems someone in Poland liked it too because their 1998 entry sounds very similar to Nætur
And Malta in 2022 now seems to be based off the 1998 Polish entry :P
One of their best ones
Una canción muy moderna para 1994,una voz muy buena¡
totally underrated!
Great year !
Still one of all time favourites and is on all my own Eurovision TH-cam, iTunes and Spotify playlists. Greetings from England!
Beautiful interpretation 💖💖💖
One of the most reinvented songs we've ever sent. Sigga didn't perform this song when it won the Icelandic national final; the singer who did only performed it as a favor to the composer, under the condition that she wouldn't have to go to Eurovision should she win. When she in fact did, Sigga was drafted in. I'm not fond of the over-orchestrated sound this song has in its final version, transformed as it was by Irish conductor Frank McNamara from its light and breezy dance sound to... this.
@@TheDRMISTERY You're correct. :)
@@TheDRMISTERY Your only error is that Sigrún Eva Ármannsdóttir is not Sigga's sister. And the song was apparently a bookies' favorite at the time, so yeah, to each his own I guess.
Love this version
Sissa who sang the song originally vocals are more suited for dance than Sigga's voice who is suited more for the orchestra.
Looove it
la cantante interoreta muy bien y tiene un encanto natural muy especial.
Great lighting of the set for this song.
2:24 Wilson Philips is shaking
haha indeed!!
this was the second esc i watched. sadly UK didn’t place well despite a great performance but loved the Icelandic song at the time and still do. 🙏
