    The chipper worked great. Expanding the woodyard and getting a little firewood. Terry

    You did a good job cutting the maple trees, having trees on you property is good, It saves you a lot of money paying a logger a truck load of wood, which can cost you thousands of dollars,

    • @DudeRanchDIY
      @DudeRanchDIY  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It sure does save money, bringing wood home from jobs helps too!

    I have a Woodmax chipper, I’m going to try sharpener. It looks perfect for touching up blades. I would like to see a video on the cutting methods you use. I typically use the bore cut and humboldt techniques.

    • @DudeRanchDIY
      @DudeRanchDIY  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It works very well for touch ups and extending the life of you knives. I’ll try to make a felling video in the future!

      It would be a cool video to make, might have to show different scenarios on a white board as I don’t have space to drop whole trees often!

    So.. I have an older wood maxx 8h . It is a beast. But my blades are in a chisel shape and you sharped in a knife shape. Will this cause a problem for future factory sharpening?

    • @DudeRanchDIY
      @DudeRanchDIY  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah my blades are the same way, honestly I have no idea but I shouldn’t think it would make too much of a difference when sending them out to get sharpened. The “knife” shape is so small that when resharpening they might just have to take a bit more material off, which in my opinion is worth it to be able to touch up the knives between full sharpenings.

    Use wet sand paper sharpen it, went you take them off some day . Like sharpen your knife on a wet stone ,them to a steel for a sharp knives.

    • @DudeRanchDIY
      @DudeRanchDIY  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I could, but this hand sharpener works very well and much faster and easier than sandpaper.

  • @wkimzey

    How many hours do you chip between each sharpening?

    • @DudeRanchDIY
      @DudeRanchDIY  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Depends more on the kind of material you are chipping. When you notice the chips becoming stringy they need to be sharpened.
