Today I will be going over all Finland Units. Give my thoughts and opinions on each unit in roster. What units are you most excited about?

28:20 The heavy engineer can also make the "costal gun", a very strong AT emplacement. Combined with a tank crew to man it, you can get a strong AT emplacement for almost no cost in research, "crowns" and manpower. Only drawback it of course being an emplacement making it stationary and it taking a long time to build.

BT-42 is a Finnish own made experiment using the BT-5 chasis and inserting a new turret with British made howitzer. They were designed to be a tank, but it became more like a mobile artillery. Its flaw was of course the chasis being rather small and the gun was not suited for tank warfare, but it managed to give infantry support and destroying some hard points from the far.

It was originally intended as a tank destroyer equipped with a upscaled german HEAT shell the finnish modified for this purpose to fit the howitzer, however it was found that the originally smaller fuze of the heat shell was unreliable in general and especially against angled armour and surfaces, which made it quite bad against t-34s as the design relied heavily on angled armour plates
the one in game had bt-7 hull. they were based on both of these tanks
The Panzer IV doesn't have 10 in the back (and most tanks don't have minimum armor in the back in general), it has 20mm on the back plate. The 10mm is the roof and floor. ISU-152 has 60mm in the back. Double what you think. Not sure if anyone has pointed that out, but there you go.

@@PuggoRebornChannel I have no idea. It used to be possible to see it (partially) in Men of War Assault Squad 2, but even that had rather limited armour values. Say for example the Jagdpanzer 38(t) or Hetzer had upper glacis plate at a different angle than lower glacis plate which results in different effective armour. Upper plate is over 100mm of effective armour, making it harder to bust open than a Tiger. That fact was never reflected in the info card in that game.
But yeah, I have no idea how to check it in Gates of Hell, I just know the real life armour layout for some vehicles and the real life layout is in fact reflected in game.
Either way, thanks for the info. It's tough to be 100% sure on things like this. As stated in video "it's my best guess." Hopefully we'll have more info some day
@@PuggoRebornChannel You can look it up outside of game or use a tank gun/AT rifle to test the (effective) thickness ingame if you are interested. The penetration indicator is there when aiming to show how much the effective thickness is. The knowledge can be valuable when you're playing.
Tiger and T-34 tanks for example are able to be used a lot more effectively based on knowing their armour thickness by positioning the tank with a corner toward the enemy. It's less effective on the T-34, but I would never use the tiger without firing over a corner. Funnily enough for the tiger, the rear corners work too because it's 80mm on the back.

About the Finnish T-26 series: The Finns bought Vickers tanks before the Winter War from Britain without guns and armed them with Swedish guns. Hence the odd gun placement on the turret. They captured many Soviet T-26 in the Winter War. later they Armed the rest of the Vickers tanks with guns from the soviet tanks (T-26E). Note also how the turret is on the right side compared to soviet made.

I'm currently trying my first Finnish Conquest campaign on Normal difficulty.
My favourite unit so far for infantry is probably the Rifle Squad w/ LMG. I unlocked the Marksmen squad but have yet to use them much (my campaign isn't going well and I'm losing a lot of battles).
The standout Finnish vehicle for me that I've unlocked and used is the Landsverk armoured car. It's fast, well armoured, shreds infantry with its machine guns, and the autocannon is great against light vehicles and small tanks. My goal for now is to unlock the Landsverk AA tank so I can have matching and mutually supporting Landsverk vehicles (I just unlocked the 40mm AA gun mount and discovered that it shreds tanks and infantry alike, so I want the self propelled version ASAP to support my armoured cars from afar).
For artillery, I'm really enjoying the starting 37mm AT gun. It's great at killing light vehicles, tanks and sniping infantry with HE rounds or destroying sandbags and other cover. High rate of fire, good penetration, decent HE round, fairly mobile, and the best gun shield of any of the smaller Finnish artillery pieces (an underrated aspect of artillery; can't fire a big gun if the crew is dead, after all.

Being a marksman and a sniper is different. A sniper takes more accurate long range shots that are slower while Marksman take multiple longer range shots at a much faster pace
correct, anything with a scope works with zeroing shots. However, a marksmen can be an incredible sniper given a sniper rifle (is my point)
@@PuggoRebornChannel true but a marksman by modern standards is someone who uses a semi automatic rifle that way they can get those shots off faster. It’s why the fundamentals are different between a sniper and a marksman. It’s also why marksman are deployed with the infantry while snipers generally aren’t

wow they didnt leave much out, although although id personally like to also see the vickers 6 ton with the sa-18 37mm ww1 and the one with just an MG in the single turret, the 75mm t-34/85 with the german pak-40 gun (prototype only), the carden lloyd tankette and Izhorsk improvised Armoured personal carrier truck. of course there are a ton of other soviet clones that can be added but i want to keep my will to live

P.S: The finnish AT is I believe a british anti tank rifle and the reason why it feels faster is because it is a bolt action instead of being a single shot one.

I'd like to see more of this kinda stuff, but I would recommend doing just a bit of research, just a quick minute or two on Wikipedia looking up some of the vehicles and guns you don't recognize right away. I caught a fair number of inaccuracies with where some units came from or what they did, and I had no idea what you were talking about when you said that some guns fired different caliber shells than what the gun is listed as, having tested a lot of these weapons myself.
I understand it's a lot of work to research the significant number of vehicles and guns, and it's especially difficult in Finlands case where their weapons are a mix of German gifted, Soviet stolen, and Finnish produced stocks, but it would make the video a little cleaner if you stumble over pronunciations and names less, and lead to a more accurate product in regards to some of the facts in the end.
Thanks for how you articulated this. In my mind it was coherent, but understand the missed facts/terminology. I will take this into consideration going forward. I really want to produce quality content for you guys. So thank you Aiden!

I was waiting for this video. the 17cm Minenwerfer Has good damage and aoe but the range doesn't justify its cost. And with it being a mortar, if anything of yours gets hit by it, say goodbye.

I being trying to go through campaign with 2 elite infantry, two amno crate, two good anti tank gun, one medic and one tank crew for repair and crewing enemy tank. i find it to be a lot more effective than getting early tank, as it can be easily destroyed by enemy since they have no armor. What do you think of my build?

Try right clicking game in steam, properties, local files, verify integrity

Hello how do you fight enemy mortar early game in effectively in defense mission? Can’t rush infantry and tank because it’s always cover by hordes of infantry, also getting a mortar just to counter their mortar is very costly.
My most effective way to deal with it is to take it out with my anti tank gun’s HE shot. But it usually take a lot of time for it to get into good position to do so.
Can you show us the cost of all these units? I tried to search for it on the internet but found none. It's hard to put down precious research points on them without knowing how cost effective are they.

You can select locked units in the Buy section where you purchase units and it will still show you the cost in the normal spot on the screen.
The 17cm minenwerfer is devastating, it has a very large area of effect and rocks infantry. It is a short range weapon but wrecks havoc on capture zones. Before I move infantry up to take a flag, I drop a few of these monsters and it does the trick. Only thing I don't like, it it doesn't resupply at an ammo truck.. So gotta watch your ammo count.
