    I love this idea of learning the jumping forehand as a means to an end - to train up your coordination for a wide range of forehands.

    Thanks. I accidentally noticed this recently helped with regular forehands as well. Twisting the rotation ie. Lower body goes the other way brings more linearity to the swing vs full body rotation. More power and cleaner contact as well. Appreciate you taking the time to slow it down

    Thanks, this skill is the key to make beginner's forehand better no matter with jump or not. Awesome!!!

    Loved this lesson. Got another perspective about connected chain. May I apply to my two handed forehand?

    Great video. I recently jumped on a forehand instinctively on a incoming heavy topspin ball and the forehand I hit felt good ! I came looking for a video like this to see if there’s something in it. Will try it more often now 🙌🎾

    Is the very first example video an actual jumping forehand tho ? It doesn’t seem like you left the ground if any

    Isn't jumping forehands more for high incoming balls that's at least around shoulder height? To me, it's more about loading the outside leg whenever possible. And whether or not you decide to jump depends on the nature of the incoming ball. For example, you definitely wouldn't jump up to a low incoming slice shot.

      You load outside leg on every forehand. Even neutral.

      @@progressivedemagogue8480 That's what I have already said... I'm talking about the need for jumping as mentioned in this video.

      Yes you would only launch on a mid height ball or above.

      @@progressivedemagogue8480 Yep, that's my thought also, but the coach in this video seems to be confused when he said he wasn't sure if Thiem jumps up to every ball.

    • @progressivedemagogue8480
      @progressivedemagogue8480 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@tenniswithric Thiem will jump on most due to the insane spin he'll receive but of course if you receive a slice you can't jump as the ball is dropping.

    Delpo was the best (and the beast;) at this. Tim is quite...robotical

      I’m robotical? If I did it more fluidly people would not understand the move as well.
