Nice little fishing spot you guys have, there! I fondly remember the last time I went fishing with my dad. I swore he was catching the same sand bass EVERY TIME, lol. Every time that lure hit the water he was coming up with another. I usually just drove the boat while he and my younger brothers did the fishing. I'd give anything to have that day back.
Jason it makes me sad to think of the number of perfectly good rust free bug floor pans we cut up to make buggies in the 60's and 70's, the old Vee Dubs were everywhere and dirt cheap. And you're not a proper welder until you've given yourself a few "weld spatter" hotfoots. Great to see you spending quality time with young Josh, he'll grow up too quick, make good use of these quality moments.

There's an old saying 'practice makes prefect' so just keep at it. I am not an expert in welding, I've done very little but I would say get a good light under there and get a welding jacket that's a priority . OK lecture over, its good to see Robbie helping out, I think you two work well together and give each other morale support which is so important. Fishing isn't my thing, have tried it but no. It was good to see Josh and Dad spending some time just chilling together. Thanks Jason for the progress Video. Hope Jen enjoys her trip to Italy 🇮🇹 and comes back refreshed . Had trouble getting the seats out of my bay window. My wife came out to check my progress and told me to use a bigger hamm. Works every time. Good stuff guys. Really appreciate your videos.
man you should hit them up for one of those yes welders. It makes the settings so much easier. you only need to set the metal thickness. then the machine does the wire and heat. gives you some numbers too so you can use them on another machine later on.

Good job man. Keep on practicing the welding and it will come naturally. You just gotta get a technique that works for you. I have a volksrod I’ll be doing flat pans on soonish. Just got it on the road. Haven’t really video documented it because it’s just me and I was grinding hard at it and didn’t have time to film anything. Love the videos though it’s always fun to watch other dub nuts do dub things.
I thought you already knew how to weld Jason! What the hell is going on!!! Back in the day (85), i went to airco technical Institute in Cleveland Ohio to get my welding certification. Unfortunately my piece of crap torino failed me! Never got the certification but i learned how to weld, and burn the shit out of myself! Great video! Keep them coming!
When is a company like Dynacorn going to produce a full classic Bug body with floor pans and all? Dynacorn already makes full bodies for the 60's Camaro's, Chevelles, Nova's, and Mustangs as well as others. We need to give 'em a call.
Could you put the ragtop body on a shortened Chevy 4 x 4 frame ? That would be one bitching ride ! Continental hood and 250/50r 17 tires , nice 3 point harness belts with racing seats front and back and murder it out ! YA BUDDY !
It’s so much easier to change the whole pan rather than sectioning in . Less welding especially over head. You have to cut off the rear part that would normally go under the body cross member. Much cleaner job as well. Work smart not hard
you think so ??? This car will need channels in the future and I had a 1/2 pan already so ...was good to blow the dust off the welder and get back into it
5150 and the snotty nose kid,,,,,,,,,,hey one thing get the welding jacket get the fire extinguisher get some water to wet down the floor when you get done welding before you leave……..and also when you’re welding overhead you should put earplugs in your ears had slag in your ears……….. does not help things!!!!!!!!!!!! I’ve never had the experience,,,,,,but I know men and a half not happy campers does permanent damage to your ears!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! PS glad to see you’re cleaning up the property new neighbors make you do the things like that safety Sally signing off

Dang, I've never had a cutting disc break yet, but I don't use harbor freight brand. Have had good luck with forney and benchmark abrasives.
welding underneath is much harder than on top. especially with that undercoating. even after you grind it that stuff leaves residue.
