That sketchbook from 2016 is wonderful. So much joy and beauty is expressed there. I had to watch it twice to take in all the flowery beauty. You must have been in such a happy state of mind when you created those pages. I look back on my older journals, too, and feel surprise at the joy and emotion in some of them.
Thankyou So! yes it’s astounding sometimes to go back & see how you were inspired or what you were working on at times, sometimes I can’t even remember, or I think, wow I didn’t think that was good at the time & now I don’t even know how I did that! hehe 😌 it’s nice we have them to look back on! have a scrumptious weekend! 🥳🎠✨🎨💕🦢🌷🌸
Your videos are sooo amazingly BEAUTIFUL and so immensely informative and helpful ... I love them!! I hope you will never tire of making them ... I watch them over and over again ... yours have quickly become my favorite channels!! I also love the music you use and always love the pretty video pieces at the ends of your videos with the trees and squirrels ... flowers ... your puppy and especially your BEAUTIFUL dove!! What a pretty pretty life you have!!
Wow, really love that nickel ink! That's going on my wish list. I really enjoy your videos- the way you combine swatching and quick sketches. And of course, love your color palette. It's so soft and dreamy. Enchanting!
Thankyou! the nickel is hard to find online! I got it at Michaels. when we go {come to think of it, we haven’t been to Michaels all year!} but my sister & I usually check the ink selection, they just have a few up the back near the watercolors & we always choose a different one! She has more galaxy colors, Sapphire blue & black waterproof ink & such. I wish they had a consistent range but every Michaels stocks different ones 🤷🏼♀️
Often I revisit your beautiful videos as away to refresh…..I love your soft details around the swatches and noticed the Ethergraf brush and learned that your wish to learn silverpoint. I have been doing quite a few drawings with silverpoint styli and can highly recommend the Legion paper that is ready for silverpoint. I will look for the chalk ground that you referred to as well. FYI I just ordered the Ethergraf and the Escoda #6 brush... I hope Jackson’s Art will reward you! Thank you so much for all the time and work you put into the channel for our enjoyment and learnings!
I absolutely love your work. So many people find it hard to use shimmer colors. That Xmas journal is gorgeous. I love how you show your tried and true paints💕💕💕
haha have you ever heard the expressions “glitter is my favorite color” or “sparkle like you mean it” that’s me! I love adding shimmer, especially because watercolor is one of the only things I do “for the process” I really enjoy splashing paint around & getting to enjoy painting on the paper & the colors moving around & glistening on the page, so I want to leave a little of that magic in the painting, so there’s a surprise when the light hits it just right! Thankyou So! 🤗✨🌸🌷🎨
Simply beautiful! Irit was so right about your videos and colour palette. Your style is lovely.... And the view from your house is just breathtaking! ❤ the turtle dove, so cute! 😍 I have just looked at lists of endangered species and the turtle dove is on it! 😢 Ugghh!
aww Thankyou! that’s the view from our old house, I just use old footage 😅 oh no, not the d🕊ves! well we have quite a few around here I feel like more than 12 hatched this year just in our backyard so that is something! we have doves & baby birds & squirrels going every which way! 🐿✨💌
Beautiful video once again! I also love The W&N gold drawing ink. I got a dip pen and some of it to try after seeing you use it, i was so inspired, and I ended up falling in love with both!
What an absolute feast for the eyes! So gorgeous. I love all your tried and true faves, especially those inks!! Some of my fave videos from your Heirloom Luxe Channel are about the inks you use. I'm very curious about the gilding and silver point and I can't wait to see your upcoming projects! I'll definitely try and use the affiliate links the next time I buy anything, which after this video will probably be VERY soon, oops.
aaw Thankyou So! the ink videos are some of my fav too! I have a little pile of ink {me & my $20 budget} that will hopefully come around the rotation soon so we can swatch some more ink samples over there! with the affiliate link, you can just use the one link & shop as normal, I just wanted to put all the links so it’s easier for you guys to find things 🎨✨🌷🤗 🎉
Lovely color selection! I've been a subscriber for a few months now but tend to lurk in the shadows. I have enjoyed this channel as well as Heirloom Luxe so much! Is that last ink you swatched right under the pink a Robert Oster color? Thanks! 💖
Hi Thea, I just wanted to share with you my journal I did following your tutorial. I started last week on my channel and finished it today. I really love it~!thanks so much for the inspiration.
☺️ the lace sleeves are just to hide my poor old tired hands, I’m afraid I haven’t been very kind to them over the years, I always choose art supplies over handcream 🤷🏼♀️😬🤗
Oops, forgot to mention that I've been looking for something like the ethergraf/silver point for a long time. I love pencil sketching, but don't so much love how it dissolves and dirties the color i use over it. Can't wait for the silver point video, but might have to try the ethergraf first (esp if you need special ground for silver point). Thanks for sharing those especially!!
the thing that differs with the ethergraf is that it doesn’t come to a pointed tip, this one is more rounded so I have to play with it abit more to see how that works, and we’ll do a video about this maybe after the shadow series.. . but the little pieces of silver can be quite cheap, I got one for like $1.50 on Jackson’s, just search silver point on their website and everything will come up. and it is more like a pencil so it comes to a point you have more control over which I like as well.. . in this video it talks about using other gesso or primers or pastel matte board that’s already primed, So for $1.50 if you have matte board or gesso, you can be on your way to drawing with silver, which is really exciting! here’s the video about the silverpoint m.th-cam.com/video/rB9d24U3PXw/w-d-xo.html & here’s one I just found by Sandrine, someone pointed out her channel recently! m.th-cam.com/video/QatjHhgkTO0/w-d-xo.html also, the lady who inspired me is toniwattsart on Instagram, she’s amazing! hope this makes sense! 🖋🎨✨🌷
I enjoy your colour collection and have many of these myself. I wonder about using pastel pencils with watercolours. If possible, please make a video about it, or, if it exists already (I'm new to the channel), please let me have the link.
I love the water soluble tinted graphite, it's such a beautiful soft shade.. and in my cart it goes!☺️ I was wondering if the Hemitite Violet would also be a good substitute for the handmade Violet Ochre? -many thanks💖
@@eaupoetique thankyou so much, I really appreciate this:) By the way I managed to get a couple paints from Color's of the Iron Range while they we're in stock, and I'm so excited!!🥰 Thankyou for the recommendations!

I have a color from Daniel Smith that’s called Piemontite. I’m curious how close it is to that Violet color. I didn’t know how to use it before, but you’ve given me lots of great ideas to use it!
I’m so glad! I love hearing that! from memory the piemontite is like a red mixed with hematite or Van dyck brown so I think it’s a bit different but also you’re right, it can be used for exactly the same type of applications as a violet earth! I’ll see if I can show the swatches in a video 🎨✨
Hi, absolutely loved the video!! I was wondering, do you have a link for Toni Watts or any others for calligraphy? I’d love to check her out too! I’m wanting to learn calligraphy. Your script is beautiful! ❤️
I love watching your channel here on You-Tube. Would you consider making a video or two about overworking a painting/knowing when to stop? Something along those lines? Thank you for all the loveliness on here.
aw Thankyou! absolutely! we will discuss it a little in the videos this week but this question has come up a few times so I’ll definitely do a video about it soon! 🤗✨🌷🌸🎨
Finally, getting a chance to catch up on your postings. I have question regarding your experience with Jackson’s. Do you find the swatches, particularly the Caran d’Ache Museum Aquarelles, to be fairly accurate representation of the true pencil colors? I’m concerned about purchasing sight unseen. I’ve had success with watercolor purchases online but inks and pencils seem tricky.
I know exactly what you mean! I pinned a pic for you on Pinterest that I think is a pretty accurate swatch list of the museum aquarelles, generally I like to google the type of pencil + color chart or swatches & I scan multiple swatch charts & maybe TH-cam videos if they swatch full sets to see colors there.. . I really like the channel ~ my art supply obsession, she swatches everything so well & accurately. Her channel is a great resource!
Good morning 😄 great videos, very useful comments. Although so far the DS paints are out of my reach 🙃 (I'm already making a list). I have a question about the last (dark brown-purple-silver) ink? And the second question I have about a paint of a similar color - a little bit earlier = porphyry violet ocher - is there a chance that it changed name and it is the same as: Armenian violet ocher? Thanks in advance for the hints ❤️
hi! yes I didn’t get Daniel Smith paints for several years! at first I used a student grade Winsor & Newton 12 set & a plastic artist loft set of shimmer colors that were $4 from Michaels.. . with brushes from Walmart, my whole painting set up for about 3 years was under $25, it taught me so much! then gradually I started adding one or two paints a week.. . yes the ink is rose gilt tynte by Robert oster I have a whole video about it over on my other channel heirloom luxe.. . it’s not the same as Armenian ochre, it’s lighter, but the Armenian is definitely a good substitute! it’s exactly the right kind of violet earth tone & you’re welcome ☺️🌸✨💕🎨
