    It's easy for people to brush this off as no big deal but 25-30 minutes is a LONG LONG time, especially when you're suspended in the air. Someone needs to be held accountable for this. Rides similar to this one have literally broken apart and killed people. Look it up!

    • @Mike__B
      @Mike__B 25 วันที่ผ่านมา +19

      Yes but this one LITERALLY did not kill anyone, in fact except for someone with a "pre-existing condition" (whatever it was) no one went to the hospital. Now if there is gross negligence that caused this then yeah someone needs to be held accountable, but if this was just some rare freak thing, then accidents happen, no one was hurt outside of being uncomfortable for half an hour, and everyone got to go home and have some social media bragging to do about how they were there and "I never thought I'd get to go home and hug my dad again"

Do you blame the amusement park for that? the ride company? hell even the steel company?
      Look, I'm just saying find out the WHY first to make sure the reason something broke is because of some negligence whether that be lack of inspection or design choice before you suggest people need to lawyer up. This was no balancing error or coincidence. The ride cycle includes a brief pause in that position while rotating, and it's built into the swinging mechanisms. An error at exactly the wrong time resulted in this position lock-up. If not for that built-in holding mechanism, this would've returned to the loading position after swinging freely for about 15minutes.

    I got on Superman at 6 Flags once. You start out "Semi-Sitting" (knees slightly bent in an upright position). And then the ride brings you parallel to the ground (facing downwards) before leaving the station to advance you up the chain lift from below the track. One time, after being brung into the parallel position.. the ride got stuck and froze in position. We hung there parallel, for about 20 - 25 minutes before continuing on. It's kool for a second, but then, doesn't take long before that feeling of being strapped in tight.. feeling the weight of your body against the restraints.. and not having much wiggle room kicks in. It can induce Panic if you start to think too much and don't remain calm. Which then can then turn into a real problem. I can only imagine what these riders were going through.. stuck.. upside down.. 100 n something feet in the air! Smh. Glad everyone's ok!

      Restraints will not fail on these rides. The locking mechanisms in place require multiple latches before the ride can even leave the station.
      This ride here the restraints stayed in place. None of the riders fell out. That said, how this ride got fully inverted is what has my attention here since I wasn’t aware this particular flat ride went fully upside down.

    • @ItsDannyRobbins
      @ItsDannyRobbins 19 วันที่ผ่านมา

      The ride's cycle has a deliberate pause for a few seconds in this position programmed into it, and a holding brake in the fulcrum to keep it there. A fault at exactly the wrong time is what resulted in this. If not for that holding brake the gondola would've returned to the loading position after swinging freely for a while.

    Okay, but how does it even get stuck like that?!?

    • @ItsDannyRobbins
      @ItsDannyRobbins 19 วันที่ผ่านมา

      There's a holding brake in the swing mechanism for loading, and for this position. It's meant to very briefly pause like this and swing the other direction. But an error at just the wrong time causes things to lock and automatically E-stop. It wasn't a freak result of balancing, it was mechanically locked in that position. If not for the holding brake, it would've swung freely for a while before stopping in the loading position.
      Don't want to get stuck like this? Don't ride attractions that pause at the top. This is why it's important to ALWAYS watch a ride cycle before you decide to get on for yourself.

    • @ItsDannyRobbins
      @ItsDannyRobbins 19 วันที่ผ่านมา +2

      Regular pendulum rides will always return to their loading position. Even in a power failure, they'd swing freely for about 20minutes before coming to rest at the bottom. THESE rides however, with programmed pauses at the top, are geared to do so, and a fault/E-stop at exactly the wrong time results in this.

      A lot of amusement park rides rely on inertia, which you don't want too little or too much of. A usual suspect of why a roller coaster would get stuck mid in a loop or before the station, is one of the trim brakes that prevents overspeeding, glitching and applying when it not needed.
