'Your Cheating Heart is symbolic to me because my Nan was what they called in those days, a 'pub singer' and she would go from pub to pub down the Roman Road in Bow E3 and the punters would follow her. Wherever she sang, they would drink.
My memories of my Nan singing this song remains with me and our family with such pride and probably the first time I heard her sing it, I knew I wanted to be a 'singer'.
It is such a shame that we couldn't record in 'those days'....what a voice she had. It was in the category of the likes of Vera Lynn, Brenda Lee, and I was so in awe of her.
