Hi everybody, Andy here with etrailer.com, and today, we're gonna take a look at this MagnaFlow Universal Stainless Steel Catalytic Converter. Now, the MagnaFlow ceramic catalysts are engineered for superior airflow. The large surface area of the honeycomb ceramic catalyst combines with a detailed coating process to allow the most exhaust to flow through the converter. Innovative technology allows each catalyst to both oxidize and reduce harmful emissions, and the ribbed body encases the ceramic to reduce expansion and distortion when the converter reaches its high operating temperature. The ribs form channels that hold the ceramic in proper alignment. The heavy-gauge stainless steel shield is seam welded to the body, forming a strong bond to prevent the ceramic from shifting.
It also includes ribbing as a final layer of protection against heat damage, reinforcing the structural stability of the entire converter. Now, this is a universal design, it is not CARB compliant. And let me give you some overall dimensions just to give you an idea of the size. So just taking a look at the overall length, from opening to opening, we're sitting right at 13 inches, and then looking at the width, we're sitting right at six inches, and then looking at the thickness, we're sitting pretty close to about 3 1/2 inches, and the body length, not including the openings on either side, just the body of the converter itself, we're sitting right at nine inches, and then that inlet/outlet diameter is sitting, let me line that up here, right at 2 1/2 inches on both ends. Now, the inlet/outlet position as you can see is center to center, and this is for the engine size of 4.2 liter EPA, and the test weight is 4,500 pounds, and the converter shape is oval, and the converter function is 3-way, and this does have a limited lifetime warranty.
