Forgot about some of these. Orojoya, fish n chips, free guest etc. some top horses. Free Guest was one of Cumanis best. She was awesome, but was later destroyed by Shardari, who in turn had his heart broken by the immortal Dancing Brave. These were vintage days for top, top Racehorses. Not just top horses, but quality in depth. Just a decade littered with champions the 80"s.
And we finish with Rousillon who we know won as it was part of another vid just the other day , still great to see it again though , proper takes me back . Thorough enjoyed this vid , many thanks 🙏 👍🏴
@@HorseRacingLegends that’s why the likes of Nashwan , Sea the stars and Llamtarra arent spoken about in the hushed tones of say a Frankel … horses are still improving and maturing as 4 year old +… ask Stouty 😀 👍🏴
Just seen Chaplins Club there , that’s the horse along with Glencroft that Mr Chapman trained to win 10 races if memory serves , most were handicaps too - awesome training 👌 👍🏴
@@HorseRacingLegends aye of course , another triumph as Soba originally started off in a seller 🤯.. I don’t see sellers so often these days , have they been done away with ? 👍🏴
@@jaymacgee_A_Bawbag_Blethering I know what you mean.Im not sure.Used to be interesting watching them getting sold after they won.Sometimes there were no bids though.Enjoy the racing this weekend. Not much on really.Ive been taken by Lake Victoria of Aidan Obriens.Could be one for the Classics next year.
7th: I’d have def backed Free Guest in a double with Fish n chips if it have been on the same day .. as it is , I know I backed it and you also put that up for me recently too 👌 👍🏴
3rd race , I have a distinct but vague memory of being torn between Green Desert and Glebe Place and sweating cos id deserted Cauthen on a Stavros fancied 2yo - as it happened it didn’t matter .. 🤦♂️ 👍🏴
Fish n chips. Oh the memories. I think he kept winning that season. I remember backing Tressider I think who finished a brilliant second to fish n chips in a big prize money race. Can't remember if it raced after 1985-86 seasons ? He was good. Another I backed kept winning handicaps at good prices was Postorage.
I was there when Hotbee won under a very young Tyrone.. 100-1 I think.........John Bridger was hardly heard of and had trained all over the place in some very lowly set ups at the time
That was when you had great jockeys, trainers and horses, lovely to see. It really takes me back.
Glad you enjoyed it.
Really enjoyed this video, so nice to walk down memory lane and be reminded of some old favourites.
Thank you so much.
That takes me back, great memories, great commentator and some great horses
Glad you enjoyed it.
Great thanks mes, great races, wonderful horses and the greatest Commentator.

Thanks Jay glad you enjoyed it.
Amazing to think Rousillon ended up with Timeform 133 and Chief Singer 131.The benefit of staying in training as a 4 year old.

And also brilliant commentators, not like today.
Richard Hoilles and Simon Holt are the best these Days.

Band in the Juddmonte colours bought by Juddmonte at the end of the 1983 season

fish n chips was a very popular horse that summer ,not sure if he carried on his great form in 1986
I’m not sure.Someone with a Timeform Annual might be able to tell us ?
@@HorseRacingLegends pretty sure he had five wins on the bounce
