- Scene from the 1997 japanese animated psychological thriller film directed by Satoshi Kon and written by Sadayuki Murai.
Mima has discovered a blog about her daily life, but soon finds out the person running it knows her too well.
All rights belong to Madhouse Inc.
"Excuse me, who are you?" Is one of the most chilling lines in this film
I am bunivelze
I am John Cena
Chilling as heck
In Japanese I agree. In English? Big disagree.
This scene really did it for me when I first watched it. The way a (what at first seemed) funny blog made by a fan turned into the realization she was being stalked or that she wasn't herself the way she thought she was, always brings me chills
Yeah, That website was definitely made by Rumi. And Everytime Mima is in a shot where she's in her room, you can't always trust that she's in her actual room. At the end, You can see that after Rumi drives Mima home, Rumi didn't take Mima to her house, but instead, Rumi took Mima to her apartment. Which had a room that Looked EXACTLY like Mima's room. She was legit obsessed with Mima that she copies and records everything about her. Even the littlest of details.
Yk what's even more weird? The "excuse me, who are you" was a little giveaway line that could have been used to automatically determine who the stalker was, as the only time mima had said that was earlier in the day right next to her producer (i forgot her name), which was also the only opportunity anyone had to record her say that.
ooohh good shout, you mean rumi her manager? when she's sitting with mimi on set between takes edit or should i say while she's waiting before her take and she's practicing her lines (or should i say line lol)?
@@Tom-qo4mz yes!
It's implied that on top of her being stalked, the course and stress of these events triggered something involving hallucinatory dissociative identity disorder sitting in her brain, which is basically why the finale with Rumi happens like it does. Her career as an idol was certainly already taking it's toll on her, and when she moved into an acting career as the next stage, she obviously underwent a lot of stress. I think the reason the movie's called Perfect Blue is because it's defining perfect melancholy, or rather perfect stress, in that all of these things perfectly come down on her at once.
Who are you?
This is my fav line in any movie ever cause I kinda don't know who am I like do you understand
100% it’s a journey but a beautiful one
We understand
her eng voice actress fits her very well!!
Why do I love her voice so much-?
So innocent and pure, the actress did an amazing job, especially during the moments where she evoked danger and concern.
@@ericvon2561 I agree! The actress done a phenomenal job! :)
@@EGO_200 Hope you're going to go see it back in September for limited release at Regal Theaters! I already got my tickets!
It's the same voice actress who voiced lain in social experiments lain
@@EGO_200I like how she said “excuse me” in the first half it sounds cute 😊😊 It feels like a warm hug ngl lol.
0:42 She laughs but I’d be terrified.
Time to have an external identity crisis

@Conker The Squirrel you have watched Perfect Blue lately I guess.
@@ConkerTheSquirrel807 Neckbeard. You should be on a watchlist.
Cartoons are not real.
What did they say 😢@@PyramidgodMeekman6
i feel so bad for mima she genuinely seems like a nice person
The fact she used a computer for the first time and someone is pretending to be one is straight up creepy
One of the golden unwritten rules. Don't look yourself up on the internet.
I love her voice
Could you upload more Perfect Blue clips?
You could simply watch it in full on AnimeHub.
@@konradsartorius7913 I want the clips uploaded since I use them for editing. Downloading the movie would be too bulky and I have no computer space
@@sheepythegamer Oh, I see. What kind of editing are you thinking of doing? An abridged series?
@@konradsartorius7913 I like to make edits for my Instagram
@@sheepythegamer did u make any I'd love to check them out do you post on yt
If I had a nickle for everytime Bridgette Hoffman voiced the main character of an anime that's scarily ahead of it's time, I'd have 2.
Which is not much but it's funny that it happened twice
"Excuse me who are you? What a terrific sentence OMG really ..
Masterpiece
Wow I never heard the English dub of this movie
It’s so bad. Why is it like they are dubbing cartoons for children, with childish voices? That’s insulting for that quality of production.
@@yw9238 wdym childish voices? I don’t think she sounds like a child
@@meatrubber2 come on. All anime english dubs are like this. Anime = cartoons (for kids) = the actors try to have a nice childish voice resulting in horrendous acting. 🥹
@@yw9238 not all are (though most of them that i have watched aren't on par with the original voices in general). i don't think the voice actors or studios intend to , but often the deliveries miss the vibe of the scene, maybe the differences in culture/language? i'm not that good at discerning voices, but its still pretty noticable when some voices are out of place. i personally don't mind the exaggerated voices, but prefer the original japanese sub most of the time! still trying to see if the dub here is really that bad tho, i haven't watched the full movie unfortunately.
For when it was made, I think the dubbing is pretty good. If I'm going to be honest, I like watching the dub of this movie.
I went to see this movie at the cinema it was amazing I would like to watch it again
same, i saw it in Feb came out blown away and knew i needed to see it again when the opportunity came up, just seen it again this week as part of a double bill with Millenium Actress
thanks for uploading this
I like ai oshino
Even tho this is anime it follows the format of a giallo movie
this is so relevant in today's social media life
Love her laugh at 42 seconds 😊
Ah! Something Came up! Hey, I'm not so bad at this...!
